The kzin is a favorite NPC of mine - I play him. Let's just say that he's found life under a female department head to be... interesting. Read his bio if you want to get into his head a bit.

Nice... Loving the bio. So I did a little research into the kzin in the Trek universe - I had no idea they were a canon species. Too bad they can't be exactly the kzin from the Known Space series. It would be interesting if they were alternate timelines, wouldn't it? Like the Protector had prevented the Vulcans from interfering in the early days of space travel of somesuch... Oh well. It's still pretty cool.

Thanks to the animated series, kzin are indeed canon (of course, there are those that will dispute this, but most take the kzin as "good" material from TAS).

Yes, the timeline had to be changed a bit - no Angel's Pencil, for instance - but the feel of the kzin is really unchanged. They work well in the Trek universe, I think.
