No!
Poison frowned. "Don't be so sad: I'm right here." She put her hand against the wall, frowning.

Yeah
"I know...and thats whats driving me insane..."
He moved back over to the couch and slouched down into it. Poison inched closer, like she wanted to help, but she was unsure what to do.
"I don't know what to do..." he said, almost mimicking her own ambience with his words. "I suppose it's up to you..."
He looked at her. There was a mix of playfulness and utter despiration in that comment. He was still attracted to her, but at the same time, he knew the closer they were, the more insane he would become. Unless he could forget about Dawn...but what could make him forget that?

Uh...
"I guess your right, but..."
he stopped, unable to finish his own sentence. He got up and walked past her, stopping just behind her and running his hand along his own back again, feeling the scars. The first reminder of his life. Then he felt the scar on his face, yet another reminder, and finally his broken heart. The final moment of pain that occured thus far.
He needed someone, but he was unsure if he would ever be the same again.

Hurting
Poison looked at him. "I don't want you hurt." She reached out for his hand.

...
He didn't move his hand when she touched it, but he didn't embrace her. As she touched him, another flash snapped through the room. He melted inside. He was putty in her hands. Why was it that he trusted her. What reason did he have to believe she was any better than Dawn. He didn't care anymore. He just needed someone, right now.
He squeezed her hand in return and turned around to face her.

*gasp*
He inhaled and exhaled raggedly, like he was having trouble breathing. After a few seconds, he returned her hug. She was only just shorter than him, but she was the perfect height still.
He kissed her head.

*Giggle*
Poison smiled against him. "Your heartbeat is thundering." She whispered.

"It does that when I'm near people like you."
He looked down at her and smiled. He couldn't believe he was actually feeling happy again.

HeHe
"So am I."
He pressed himself a little closer up against her, sharing their warmth with each other. He felt safe. Secure. Like he was at home.
But deep inside him he sensed a nagging doubt. It wasn't anything drastic, but it was enough to think about. It was already too good again. Things didn't go from horrible to great in the blink of an eye, thats not how the world worked. And yet it had happened twice to him. The first time was a fraud, and something inside himself, some minute nagging feeling, told him it would be so with this, but he didn't care. As he had already noted, he just wanted to feel safe for now, and if that meant the destruction of his own being later on, then he would deal with it.
He looked down at her and buried his nose in her dark black hair. She was dark and brooding, a daughter of the night and the lost souls, and yet here he was, sharing this moment with the last person he ever would have expected.

I do have one question
Donald stood up and spoke out.
"I do have a question, ma'am. Why must you mention who and what Dawn is in your own introduction? I just don't see the relevance to anyone but a bunch of rubberneckers." Donald sat down. He had to learn to put these people into their place before they got a misled idea that they had control over him.

Well, well, Bez posted
Arun smiled. "Because it saves her the trouble of introducing herself, Donald. Many here need to know, need being if she has to take up her position sooner then planned.
Poison felt happy, a rare sensation for her. But that's what it was supposed to be like: they were puzzle pieces, perfect for each other. The only problem was Dawn. She had broken some part of him, and she wasn't sure how to fix him.

Well
He wasn't sure she could fix him, at least not in one night, but she was already helping. The only way she could make it better is to be what Dawn wasn't. Honest. If she said she loved him, she shouldn't lie. Thats all it took.
"I love you..." he said it slowly, almost choking on his own words. He sounded unsure of himself, but only for the fact that the last time he said that, he'd gotten a lie in return.
