my plans...

I intend to make another combat post on Friday. I feel like you guys have given me enough strategy so that I can keep this rolling, but I will give you a couple of days to role play, make edits, etc, if you so choose.

A butterfly lurks

I was considering a post but when I was lurking earlier I saw Vanadia appear as online so I thought I'd wait just in case I ended up ninja-posting

Very likely will post tomorrow when I have an opportunity

I thought about a post, yesterday...

...but I was feeling like crap and didn't get on the 'puter much at all except to take care of work stuff.

All that aside, I'm re-reading, reviewing spells and tactics, and, with luck, posting before today ends.

Also - Yay for us kicking undead butt! I was just a tiny bit worried when Olan threw zombies at as right away... him and zombies... deadly combination... makes it really easy to lose 5 or 6 PCs before you make it seven blocks...

Also Jr. - the undead are emerging from both sides of the road, now... does that mean that the actual area of the road ahead and behind are "clear" of shamblers (at least at the moment)?

now, now...

These are typical D&D zombies, so they aren't as scary as the ZiC screamers. For instance, you don't have to worry about being infected from a D&D zombie.

The road itself is apparently clear for the moment, yes. Do note that we use the term "road" pretty loosely - it's probably not more than ten feet wide, and is simply a hard packed dirt trail. You have light woods on either side, with attackers coming from both.

Do note that Ta'Arms is completely paralyzed right now, frozen in place like a statue.

Q

Speaking of which, is Mr. Statue within my carrying capacity?

Rae to the rescue! LOL

She'll just throw El Jumbo over her shoulder and carry him to Crandel... cuz she's AWESOME like that!

Jarenion's got a spell(Maximilian's Earthen Grasp) that, hopefully, will provide some defense for Ta'Arms in the immediate future... you know, just in case a fireman's carry isn't an option right away. I'm adjusting spells and tactics, now... should have a postable something in the next little while.

nope

The only person in the group who could carry Ta'Arms would be Ta'Arms - if he had a helpful doppleganger. And that is assuming a naked Ta'Arms, much less a big warrior in banded mail and carrying another nice chunk of weight in gear (plus your own armor and gear). So sorry, but no can do.

No harm in asking

I think Ta'Arms needs to take it easy with the meat in the future

My thoughts then are we set up a defensive perimeter of people around Mr. Statue until he (hopefully) recovers, and given it was the 'giggler' that had that effect, have people prepared to attack that one first to try to prevent another victim.

Then the other zombies are just zombies until proven otherwise.

sure thing

Sounds reasonable to me. But don't trust me, I'm the DM.

Wait...

Nope...

...no harm in asking, at all.

Defensive perimeter is also a good idea since it doesn't appear we'll be able to move (much) until we manage to unstiffen the stiff. I'm just wondering if we're not going to have to take on an entire village-worth of shamblers before we get to Crandel.

Are you tempting the DM?

Eol...

...is a bear poker!

Or is that a bare poker?

Perhaps he only pokes bare bears... it's something like that, anyway.

egad

Be careful when poking bare bears, my friend. You might find the result to be unbearable.

tactical stuffs

Okay, one of the major questions (how the mage would proceed) has been answered.

I'm assuming that the warriors will continue in the same manner they have used so far - Ta'Arms will drool on himself, En'Aranthea and Rae will fight, protecting the party as best they can. It hasn't been implicitly stated, but my expectation is that Rae will stay near the big guy on the left side of the road, while En'Arenthea will most likely move to the right side to protect that flank.

Assuming Danon continues his earlier stated tactics, he will attempt to turn undead first, then fight with his mace unless his healing skills are severely needed.

Galardil has already turned undead in this fight, so he can't do so again. My understanding is that he will use the sling if he has a shot, then switch to his war club if the shamblers get too close. He will stay close to his friend, Jarenion, and will hold spells for healing if need be.

I have Blair firing bolts. Since I don't see any other intentions, my assumption is that he will stay in a missile role unless forced to draw his blade.

If any of my assumptions are wrong, you have until tomorrow to correct them. While I love game posts, you don't have to make one - feel free to post a quick line here, or even send me a PM.

Thanks!
