last suggestion I promise!

Sorry I should have consolidated. One of my little minions would like to make a suggestion. A separate section on RDI for Kids. Perhaps a Tab? Titled RDI Kids?

Someone could run games for the younger generation and have more kid friendly content. (not that the site as a whole isn't child friendly)

Lets see you could have kid friendly games, age limited contests so that younger children aren't forced to compete with the adults. Perhaps a younger more child/Teen based comic? Or even just an ongoing storyline. For instance I write something called the Merlin Chronicles for the children and we read it during circle time once a week and then again for the children at the library. Every reading is usually one chapter sometimes two.

Just a thought..

kids

Well our youngest member is 12, as far as I know. He plays with the grown ups. I'm just not sure there is that much demand out there for a more kid-oriented area. We might be able to make a new forum.

That being said, the majority of the staff and regulars around here became staff and regulars by taking ownership of a project and doing it! *wink wink hint hint*

Why not post a few kid friendly stories and test the waters?

As to the App, I believe you have to pay Apple $99 to be a publisher. Not sure about Android. We are (with some occasional contributions every so often from members and staff) completely funded by our webmaster's wallet.

I visit the site a lot on my iPhone, and have thought about it, but I just don't see the demand to make it profitable, or even break even. I might be wrong though.

And regarding Audalis: Yes, we have been considering publishing for many years now, but since so much of the world is just not fleshed out (so many places are just names on an outdated map) and doing said work is basically the collective hobby of a group of very busy nerds... it's going to be a while.

I'm not going to lie, the contests are probably some of the biggest ways we get new material. We rely heavily on equally busy members to write material. Also *wink wink hint hint* lol

Bottom line: enter the contest!

Good suggestions though! I'll look into the app thing more.

On the parody songs mp3 linkage

Do they not work at all or is there a hidden trick? I ask because a facebook buddy is interested in hearing them but he's having a spot of bother getting it downloaded. Any help?

well

Only some parody songs have actual MP3s for them. Most are just lyrics.

The ones that have MP3s have a player embedded ont he page, as well as a link to the file itself. You can typically either click that link to have it play in your default media player, or right click ->download to save a copy to your computer.

I know that we have MP3s for:

Treasure
The DM Song
You're Gruesome, Dude

I think that's all. Of course, if someone wanted to record a version...

PM Inbox. . .

Why U No show most recent messages first?

Maybe it's due to irrevocable code that can't be changed, but it would make more sense to have unread/newer PM's show up first.

I broke chat! IT keeps bucking me out after 30 seconds and telling me I have to be logged in. And...I kind of am.

Pop up............

It's your Popup blocker, change your setting to allow to Inn.

That should do it.

Just thinkering...

... is there any feasible way of finding out what one has been applauded or smitten for? Meaning, which posts got how many smites or applauds, and not who from?

It's be interesting, /me thinks.

adsf

As I recall there's a purposefully a reason you can't see that, mostly because Applauds/Smites are just for fun and are nothing that people should really care about. Knowing where/who your smites are from will never be a good thing.

audalis...

If you guys would like, I could start doing more write-ups for Audalis world, to help expand the lands, and their people history etc...I seem to have a lot of extra time in the evenings than i had before. I`ve been bored out of my mind all day...so if you guys would like, I`d be more than happy to work on other areas of Audalis...would hope to find out ideas.

sundry

We won't show applauds/smites because it just creates drama where none should exist. If your count jumps quickly and you feel someone is bombing you, let a staff member know.

Newest PMs first? I may implement this.

As for Audalis help - we're always in the market for those who would like to help!

looking at his post...

I don't think Darren meant showing WHO did the applaud/smite, I think he wanted to know what post got how many applauds/smites.

Exactly

Exactly Celeste!

I may be taking things a bit too seriously, but the only way that one can find out how to be a better person is to know what one did wrong.

Of course the person doing the smiting or applauding shouldn't be shown. Just the posts that were hit.

hmmm

The system doesn't track applaud/smite by post, but by thread. Notice that if you applaud someone once in a thread, it has no effect if you try to do it again.

I suppose that I could add this to the wishlist to show the karma count for a given thread.
