Your knowledge of the creature is related to Malagaar's description of it. And you are very correct in the matter of shield bashing.

Impromptu gear addition. Hardened scabbards for all. :p

In particular, it is the crushing force that deals damage. Seeing as skeletons without muscle would crumple to nothing, one must assume that the magic behind the reanimation has something to do with the skeletons bindings. So, in that sense I presume that the way to release these bones from the magic that holds them together would be to grind it to dust.

In the end, it is just the particular damage reduction granted this creature type, but I still like to find pragmatic reasoning to every rule.

Success! Though aside from Tyrvia's quarter staff, which Malagaar or Arimm could use to great effect, noone came loaded for dead combat.
Quarter staff, as a reminder, can be used as a double weapon.

Done deal. Good rolls made for a stealthy perceptive little bugger. So far so good. Now what to do with this newly gained insight?

Haha. Very well put. Honestly I think a scout role is critical in many scenarios. It's funny though, how often table tops skewer this responsible course for the more classic "break down the door" agenda. Here's hoping it doesn't lead to any untimely demises.

Momma got mad.

One thing about your post Brundel. Arimm is human, and Malagaar Drow. It looked a bit like you mixed them up. Very interesting post. I'll have to wait and see the reaction.

Not my place to say as GM. Though I will say, that this is not your first shindig. How the two of you, or all of you in fact, interact I would welcome you all to explore privately and allow it to enrich the story line. In fact if you want to make specific examples of fighting side by side and being faced with moral paradigms, I'd say you could provide the example, and perhaps I could provide the name of the place or battle. Though you've all been with the blades around six months. To quantify things.

Alright. Arimm and Canicus managed to take out the wounded zombie, and Malagaar spotted a way up to the temple. Next stop, Temple of DOOM!!!! Haha. Hmmmm...

It's funny, but iPhone has revolutionized my update speed. Haha. I've also had to add a house rule to deal with illegal spaces in combat now. Forced grapples!!! Haha. Though beyond this particular encounter I'm not sure how often it'll come up. That was a tricky one.

Okay. Update is up, now for the mechanics.

Between Malagaar, Arimm and Canicus, the second zombie managed to hit the dirt. That leaves one zombie standing. A zombie who, by the way, managed to smoke Arimm for 7 damage.

In other news, Tyrvia managed to heal Malagaar for 11hp.

Such a sad episode. If Rick knew what we knew, aka if you don't see them die, don't count them as dead, ( movies teach this lesson, cabin in the woods, fast five, princess bride. Haha. It's universally recognized genre truth) he could have prevented all of this.

P.s. how bad ass is Daryl!

This thread should be close to useless. Got my recruits, and the game has started. So let's move any questions to pms or the Q&A thread, and check out the game The End of All Measure.

Even if we get a decent draft in that would do, we can hammer out the details as we go on. I don't see them being relevant instantly, (with the possible exception of the two elves knowing each other before the blades) as we will start neck deep in action. No awkward greetings, no taverns or notes nailed to posts that say "Adventurers wanted!"

Should have her under way today or tomorrow. Will keep you all posted.

Alright. I now have all five character sheets and am just doing a final check up to make sure all the information needed is there. We have Two Avanmephion Elves (King Rat and Brundel may want to discuss knowing each other, it's a pretty tight knit group.) A human thief and cavalier, and an ifrit inquisitor. Pretty interesting group. Aside from perhaps the one character, they all seem pretty soldier of fortune too, which could make for some interesting resolutions taking place.

I should have time to work on starting up the game over this weekend.

Please keep working on your backstories a bit, they may end up being important. Message me if you need any help or inspiration (or if I just haven't written enough backstory and I need to fill you in ).

When Rick is talking to Lori about what transpired with Shane, he wasn't talking to an ally, someone who needs to hear the bad news jumbled up into a good story, he was talking to his wife. The one person that should be his confidant, who should understand. Especially given that she was very manipulative in their conversations, spreading the rift that had grown between the two. She had all but said he should be rid of Shane.

When he was talking to her, it was an amazing confession into the empathetic brilliance of the man. Rick sees so much, perhaps from all the situations he's handled as a sheriff, but people readers are scary to me. He's a scary man, and yet he uses his gifts with good will (most of the time). When Shane was talking to the "habits he had to break" outside of the rv back at camp in season one, I'm sure he knew right then and there what had gone on between his wife and friend. Yet he never let's on. He waits for the right moment.

His bad explanation was a true caption of events. Rather then bend the truth into a story (or an outright lie as Shane began to do so often) and I think he meant it as a tactical maneuver. I think he wanted to tell his wife how much he saw, and more to the point, wanted to see how she handled the truth. Which, by the way, was fear, before abandonment, and then disgust disguised as anger, and outright hatred, which is an indication of her dual natured intentions.

Then, he broke. In his eyes there was only rage. His wife was not his wife, not his closest ally. Not his. At least not wholly, and in that moment, treated him like the murderer of her lover, and not her love that had been faced by a terrible choice. A choice that was in no way his fault.

I think after that, he was done. He was overwhelmed by the guilt of killing his best friend, which, as he knew in his mind, could have been prevented if he had chosen. Because he knew all along. He was forced to watch as his friend betrayed him time and again. So when he spoke to the group, he wasn't so much clumsy as undone. And the screaming was his minds release, trying to justify himself to himself, and no one else.

I'm just glad the next season illuminates Lori's realizations of her own massive misgivings. Because I was about ready to jump into the screen at her. Haha.

What he said. Haha. And though I love the ingenuity of the witch. Gotta say I've never seen healing better than a pathfinder cleric.

In any case. It looks like I have my five players, so all I need is character sheets in and I can start this shindig. Also, a simple google search for "pathfinder character sheet" could provide you a tangible look at the characters in question. I find it helps me with my checklists to write them out. If you have any questions or need help or suggestions for your backstory feel free to pm me and I'll get back to you post haste.
