Asher could be Miss Willow's knight-in-shiney armor as she's all helpless-like in the sick bay!

or... OR... she could fine-tune her doctor skills on the Kid... Asher's up for playing doctor!

Danger is Asher's middle name!

Asher would likely be hanging out in the kitchen, snaggin' some protein paste while noone was lookin'

...or, he'd just as likely be near by the engine room/ cargo bay, ready to fetch Kora whatever she needed.

NOT looking over her shoulder, mind you! No, no! Not that... he'd just be close enough to be helpful if needed.

Thanks so much, gang, for your patience with me! Just caught up with the posts and like y'all have already said, "WOW!" nice work!

Special thanks to Van... once again, super-WOW on the date post. Very cool with the added benefit of Beth scoring a new job. That was a nice added touch.

Anyway, I'm back... and will post again this weekend.

Later,

[OOC: Backposting to the morning after mmmMMMmmmBeth]

Asher awoke up early, as was his custom. His early years on the farm had bred into him an internal clock that only let the boy sleep six hours without waking up. That… and the sake had run its course through his body, and Asher now had a serious need to relieve himself.

Gently untangling himself from Beth, Asher used the toilet and then quietly readied himself for the day. From time to time, the young man from Ezra would look over at his sleeping beauty and smile (sometimes, nearly laugh) at his good fortune. Damn! What a great night!

The sure knowledge that Cap’n Sung would be wanting to reach for the black sooner as opposed to later grounded Asher from flying into a full blown, long term fantasy with the buxom beauty from Beaumonde.

Sigh… Asher looked longingly Beth. She sure is awful pretty.

Beth’s eyes fluttered open as she stirred from her sleep. Ash smiled at her, spoke softly, “G’morning.”

“What time is it?”

Asher walked over to her, “Can’t say fer sure, but my guess would be early morning. Five thirty, six mayb… hey!

Beth’s arms snaked out, her hands pulling Ash back into bed.

The lad caught the wild, lively eyes of Beth as she spoke with child-like eagerness, “Perfect!” She wrapped her arms around Ash tightly and began to kiss him. Her warm lips…

[OOC: Fade to black to maintain PG rating.]

The two young lovers lay together for a long time, both knowing their time was running short, neither wanting the fantasy to end. It had all been too perfect, thought Asher. The date… dinner… this room… the night… all perfect. How does one let all that go?

Asher let out a little sigh and then smiled at Beth. Might as well made the best with was I got. To the woman beside him, Ash said, “How ‘bout we go get some breakfast. We’ll be breakin’ atmo today and Trish always makes a sweet deal of a breakfast on port-leavin’ day. You can come up and I’ll introduce you to the crew.”

Beth looked over and smiled a forced smile, trying like Asher to live and love in the moment without getting too far ahead of herself. “Sounds good,” she said.

As the two of them got dress for the day, they pushed the facts away and enjoy their time together, laughing and playfully teasing each other. It was good for Asher… washed away the hardness and jadedness that he found difficult to avoid while traveling the black.

Just before they were about to exit the room for breakfast, Asher gave Beth the quick shinny on the crew. “Trish will likely be the one with the hood on. Now, she’s a bit sensitive ‘bout the way she looks… I think she’s pretty enough, but then she’s like a second ma to me. Anyway, just don’t stare, ‘k? If you could scrape away the scar tissue, she’d be super pretty, fer sure. Besides… she can whip up a mean meatloaf with just a can of protein paste and a pinch of spice.”

Beth laughed at the thought as Asher continued, “You met Dash already, he was at the bar with me when we met. Dash is like an older brother. So expect all kinds of razzin’ and big shot macho talk coming from his mouth. The guy’s harmless…just trying to get a rise out of me, so smile lots and ignore most of what he says.

“As for the rest… well, I’m sure they’ll be fine.”

The two of them made their way up the ladder and over to the kitchen, the smell of breakfast leading the way. They giggled as the passed by Captain Sung.

“Morning Captain!” said Asher, jovially as the two of them went to get some breakfast. Trish dished it out and gave Asher one of them looks as if to say, “Captain’s in a mood.” Asher winked to show that he understood.

Beth and the Kid sat down at the table, talked to Trish about the night past. “You should have seen this place, Trish! Wow! Man! And those pork dumplings… I just about asked Aunt Sunni for the recipe for you, Trish! Wow!”

The two of them continue to relive the night in front of a silent, yet polite, Trish, who smiled gently and nodded when appropriate.

[OOC: I’ll end this part here… I don’t know how the rest of you would like to react to this situation. Regardless, I imagine (making assumption from Van’s post) that Beth will stay through Sung’s talk and then leave with Willow and Asher when they go to get med supplies. I pick up my post from there…]

As Asher, Beth and Willow prepared to leave, Willow asked Asher to let the two women folk talk for a bit… alone. Asher, not always understanding Willow’s ways, but seeing her as the wiser older sister, gave the ladies some space for a quiet chat. In fact, Asher was pleased, for he took it as a sign of Willow’s approval. He smile openly as an old children’s jingle came to mind… Asher and Beth sitting in a tree, K-I-S-S-I-N-G…

Soon enough, the ladies concluded their quiet chat, and the time came for the facts to become reality… their time together was done. Asher tried to extend it, and offered to walk Beth over to Aunt Sunni’s house. But the young woman indicated that she needed to head back to her place for a moment first to fresh up. “Besides,” Beth smiled. “Aunt Sunni said not to show up too early.” The two of them laughed again as they remembered fondly Aunt Sunni.

Finally, it was Beth who made the first move, wrapping her arms around the Kid’s waist. “I had the most perfect time, Asher Talhone.” And she kissed him. “I hope there’ll be more.” One more kiss before she released Ash, turned and walked away. At first slowly, lightly, soaking in Beaumonde faint sun beams. She turned around once to find Asher still watching after her, before she picked up her pace, still light, almost skipping.

Asher sighed once again. Wow… that was some night… A lopsided grin appeared on his faced as he thought about the talented Miss Beth and her many skills.

The Kid felt a slender arm link onto his… Miss Willow’s. “Come, my dear,” she sang. Asher followed her lead as she talked some more. His eyes were on Beth, though, and they followed her until she was out of sight. Only then did he go on and on about his evening and about Aunt Sunni’s and about how Willow had made everything so wonderful and how he definitely owed her.

[OOC: going to stop here… will pick up on the noises around my gun racks later this week.]

[OOC: Backposting a bit]

Coyote spoke quickly into his cell to his friend, "Lobo, I need to you to come through for me, bro. Five minutes I may be flatlining, got me?"

He paused for a moment, looked at the roof where he had spotted the ganger earlier. "Listen, Lobo, I need help and fast, yo. I got a couple of gangers on the roof over my head that need to disappear. Sooner the better. >>Coyote gives Lobo the coordinates<< Do what you can, yo! I'll see you on the flip."

Coyote jammed his cell back in his pocket and made his way over to Croaker and Preacherman, eyes trained on the roof over head. Croaker was on his cell when he arrived, and mexican trained his ears to listen into the conversation. He whispered to Preacherman, "He finally calling in the heavy firepower? We're gonna see a lotta lead soon, si!?"

[OOC: When Croaker is finished on the phone]

Coyote looked the leader of the pack, Croaker, up and down and the man put away his cell. "You got more help coming, si?! That'll be good. I think them hawkeyes >>indicating the gangers on the roof<< starting to get hungry, get me? I'm surprised you and me both don't got a bullet through the skull yet. I don't know what they are waiting for."

"What's our next step, yo? This place got a back door?"

Subject: A couple of things...

1) Regarding the pic... all I can say is "Berry nice!" That, and the classic "I like guns!"

2) Al... AWESOME date post! Yea Asher! That boys is SO going to score today! WOW! Seriously though... I am thoroughly enjoying this story and we haven't even had to pull out our guns yet! The part about Sam and Ash eating protein paste straight from the tube... lol... so funny! Oh, and the line from Auntie about "more soup, less pork buns..." That was a great line too!

3) About this date... I'm not sure how far I should progress the story. I could simply interact with you post and barely advance the story with a simple "So... what do you think?" question to Beth. Or, if you like, I can take it all the way to the end of dinner and Beth and Asher preparing to leave for the Roc. How far would you like me to go?

Tobin scratched the friendly wolf behind the ears, and was about to ask for the canine's name, when two ferrets suddenly came out of hiding and playfully danced on the wolf's thick neck, looking for a share of the cidal's attention.

Tobin laughed gayly at the performance and rewarded each by stroking their soft fur. Still beaming, Tobin looked back at the dark syl. "I take it they're all with you!" he laughed.

[OOC: Tag Tann]

As he was turning his attention back to the animals, Tobin heard the entrance of another into the waiting room. The agile cidal bent at the waist and peered between his legs to get a better (albiet, upsidedown) view.

Another khord... perhaps our host?

From between his legs, Tobin simple said, "Oh, hello!"

In no way am I trying to stretch you thin, Al... you got real life stuff, hey, you got to deal with that.

Just curious though if 1) we should be expecting a post soonish, 2) if this game is going into hibernation for a bit (a couple of weeks), or 3) Real Life has just taken an unexpected turn and the Roc's going to be grounded a little more permanently.

Tobin and his comanions got directions from the innkeeper, and were soon off to find the Granitefingers estate. When they finally approached their destination, Tobin paused to let out a shrill whistle. "Wow!" he said softly to himself as he took in the grandeur of the place. "This ought to be good!" he said to Alyssia. "Should be no problem asking the good khord to raise the price for our service, heh?"

As they entered the waiting room, the cidal immediately notice the dark-skinned syl. Now that's something you don't see everyday. Especially not down under...

Curiousity took the better of Tobin, and he reached out a hand of friendship. "Name's Tobin, friend. Tobin Tumblebelly, hero of the little folk. These folks be my companions. I'm sure they'll introduce themselves if ya ask nicely... well... except for Draven..." Tobin leaned in close to the syl and whispered, "He's not so friendly like, so don't take it personally."

Looking at the wolf, "She with you?" The cidal reached down gently to pet the wolf.

OOC: Wild empathy check with the wolf... not looking to steal her. Just pet her.

Tobin was excited... there was no hiding the exuberance from the cidal's face. It was the starting of new adventures that was getting his blood pumping.

Tobin quickly ate his breakfast and waited for the rest of his companions, his gear packed and ready to go the night before. Don't forget to grab some arrows, Little Warrior.

While he waited for his companions, Tobin chatted up the innkeeper, retelling the tale of their encounter with Troshba... "Shoulda seen the beast! Teeth as long as swords! The spikes on it's tail like javelins! The thing was throwin' them around like a rain storm in the Keg!"

The innkeeper just nodded his head, half listening. "Should of seen it... uh huh..."

OOC: TO BE CONTINUED...

Subject: Asher's room

Asher would keep his room fairly tidy, and rarely would leave his guns about (that's what the gun lockers are for). I'd guess that his bed was made, through a few stray clothes might be lying about and perhaps a couple boxes of bullets and maybe an emergency shotgun.

What I imagined Asher was really asking for was that Willow (being an Companion and all) would not just tidy up, but really "set the mood" in Asher's room. I don't want to say too much more than that though, 'cause I want you to surprise me.

I have gotten the sense from your posts that Willow is all into the extravagant and beautifying stuff, and Asher believes that Willow is "knows her stuff" when it comes to romance and love and sex and women. He's coming to her like she was a big sister, all wise and such in the ways of women, you get me?

Anyway, I'm looking forward to your (all of the crews)responses to when Asher "brings home" his date. I imagine Sam and Trish will have some things to say (well, maybe not Trish). Though, if Asher walks in with Trish and Sam says,"I'll be in my bunk..."

Thanks!

Coyote watched Croaker and Preacher move out across the wide open stretch of concrete, more than a bit sure that the gangers on the roof were about to shoot some serious lead into them. He kept a close eye on the gangers for any signs of movement as he pulled out his cell.

Let’s see where Lobo’s at… Coyote thought hopefully. Definitely got myself a here. He punched in the speed dial number for his friend.

As Beth went to grab her coat, Asher flashed the other woman a smile of thanks, before pulling out his communicator.

I hope Willow ain’t tied up at the moment. He thought as he tried to reach her.

[OOC: Assuming Willow picks up…]

“Hey! Willow! It’s Ash.” The lad spoke excitedly. “I need some advice. Got myself some company and I’m looking to treat her right, right?”

[OOC: Assuming some affirmative response…]

“Right.” Ash continued. “I’m looking for a decent place to eat around here. Know of any place to treat a girl right?”

[OOC: Assuming some answer, like “Oh, well, there is this place over here… no, wait… there’s a nice spot over there… or you could take her that nice little place down over there…”]

Asher interrupted the doctor, “Gotcha! Thanks! Oh! And could you do me one more favor? Could you make sure my bunk is set right to receive company? I thinking we’ll be dropping by after a bite to eat… and I want to make a good impression… and you’re just… good with… the details of things like this…”

[OOC: Assuming some interruption from Willow, either positive or negative…]

“Alright then!” Asher noticed Beth coming back. “Thanks, hey! Oh, and tell the Capt I’ll be back ‘round early evening. Gotta go!”

Asher put his communicator back and smiled at Beth. A real date! He was looking forward to his afternoon.
