Topic: The Chakran Portal - an Adventure in Audalis
Subject: Feelinglike a third wheel...

Tobin was more than a bit surprised at Alyssia's decision to tag along after Draven, when the dark human made it perfectly clear that he was not interested in company.

The cidal wondered if the mage knew what kind of place they were about to enter. Surely not… Tobin thought to himself as he looked upon the fair follower of Lysora. While he desired to leave Draven to himself, he felt Alyssia should not be left on her own. Letting out a sigh, he followed after them, trying to keep in step with the mage.

They finally reached The Clouded Mug without incident, and with hardly a word passed between them. It made a cidal a bit uncomfortable to go without both, and Tobin was no exception. He was tempted more than once to strike out on his own, go explore some nook here or some cranny there, but he pushed his desires away in favor of the greater good of watching over his charges (for that is how he viewed his companions).

Draven was first to order, and Tobin waited to see what “the strongest drink” looked like before ordering himself. Carion’s Acid did not look to his liking. Instead he asked the barkeeper for a few of his favorites from his last trip to Khordal, “Do you have any Imperial Pride or Bear Claw ale? I do like them. Or something dark and stout but not too strong.”

Turning his attention back to his companions, Tobin caught Alyssia attempt at conversation with Draven. Predictably, the brooding man would have none of it and told her so plainly.

Taking his drink, the cidal was just about to suggest that the mage and him take Draven’s suggestion and find another table, when some commotion off to the side caught his attention. As the finely dressed khord keeled over, seemingly poisoned, Tobin put his drink down, not feeling so confident as to its quality.

Keeping his eyes on the events unfolding, Tobin spoke to Alyssia, “Draven is right. There are lots of open tables here, Alyssia. Let’s leave the man to brood, and look for more pleasant conversations…” The cidal watched as the hulking sigie hauled the offending khord out of the tavern. “… and, perhaps, more pleasant places.”

Tobin flashed Alyssia a bright, hopeful smile.

Burgers, Fries and a Fresh Salad -- 8 credits
2 Icecream Floats -- 2 credits

Afternoon Romp with Beaumonde Belle, Beth ----> Priceless... er, unless she's still planning on charging me...

Anyway, Asher hopes to take Beth out for a decent meal. (Burgers, Fries, Icecream Floats sounds 'bout right... just not Fast Food.)

After mid-day meal, Asher will take Beth back to the ship to... well... you know... down in his bunk.

I'll likely post later tonight or tomorrow

I would agree with you, Al... I don't see this game picking up a faster pace. My life is pretty hectic and I got few other games on the go with a similar pace.

I, personally, like the pace. I find you are consistent in your updates as are the rest of the players. And that's what I'm looking for... regular, dependable updates that keep moving the story forward.

I am also enjoying the creativity and story-feel that is going into each of the posts. They seem, to me, to be well written and a pleasure to read.

Two thumbs up here! Keep up the great work!

Subject: Grapplin' all gentlemanly like

Asher followed Beth to the room behind the coat check. The girl definitely drew him in.She reminded the lad of home... and simplier times... better times.

The thoughts of home, even in the midst of his lust, brought to mind his mother and Abby, his sister... and Ruth-Ann, his sweetheart from long ago... all ripped away... away...

The hardened, jaded, and lustful parts of Asher told him, Those times have past... ain't no room fer a gentle folks no more. Best get what y'can when y'can.

But there was another voice too... the one remindin' him of when people were decent folks... honorable and such.

Beth closed the door to the back room -- four walls and a bed. Asher closed his eyes and kissed the girl in front of him -- the girl of this moment. He knew she was more than ready to lay with him... and there was no denyin' his body was tellin' him it was more than ready.

But something stop caused him to pause... if only for a moment.

"Miss Beth," He said softly. "There ain't no denyin' I'd love t' bed ya right now." He kissed her again. "But I want t' do ya right. Not just like a stallion with some mare... but gentleman like." Another kiss. "So, I got t' ask ya.. are you free t' leave here fer a bit? 'Cause I'd love t' take ya away from here... if only fer a bit."

OOC: If Beth agrees, than I would say that the two of them leave the bar prior to Sam/Sung... Find a place to eat and then he'll take her to a decent hotel. If not... then Asher will go back to the bar quick and get the nicest bottle of alcohol, two glasses and head back to Beth.

Subject: So... this PG thingy we got goin on

While I am so fine with this being PG and all, I'm curious as to what to post next for Asher... (beyond "Yippee Kiyea!")

Am I waiting on Sam & Sung to conclude their business and that will be Asher's cue to conclude his business?

Where does Beth take the Kid? Is it a private room? Or just tucked around the corner of the coat check?

If I want to take the pretty girl out and show her even more of a good time... what's available in the nearby surroundin' area? (restaurants and shopping... would hate to spoil Beth's "dream boy"... besides... Asher is sort of a gentleman... or, at least, gentleboy.)

Thanks a bunch!

OOC: Breast is best!

The bartender looks at Asher with bemused smirk. “Milk? This ain’t no dairy farm boy! Only milk we got around these parts is Mudder’s milk, imported all the way frim Higgin’s moon. Good for …” He pauses to look the Kid over from head to toe, “growing men like you. Put some hair on the chest.” He says with a laugh and the patrons around him all laugh with him.

Asher was a good-natured feller, laughed along with the rest. It wasn’t the first time he’d been ribbed fer his choice of drink. Truth was though, the lad had a hard time stayin’ on the level was the booze was added to the system… and Asher didn’t want t’ be relyin’ on ol’ Yosemite Sam t’ haul his drunken arse back to the ship.

“Maybe Beth there could help him, “Laughed a grizzled old man on the other end of the bar, gesturing to the coat check girl, “She’s got more than enough to spare.”

Asher’s eyes turned back to focus on the beauty that was the coat check girl -- Beth… the lad thought dreamily. Hmmmm…. Yum….

To his surprise, Beth stepped away from the coat check and walked behind the bar, bosom bouncing promisingly all the way, “More than willing to oblige Chester, if you or the young man here got the coin.” She stops to lean on the bar, offer an even closer view to Asher of her bartered goods.

Once again, a silly, puppy-like grin came over the lad’s face, “Wow…”

The crowd laughs raucously.

It’s not that Asher hadn’t been with a woman before – fer sure he had. And it’s not like he hadn’t seen beautiful women before – Willow and Kora were fine examples… but they were like family, ya know… untouchable.

And, well, sure the Kid was a bit awkward in these sorts of circumstances – where one paid fer a good time – the boy had been brought up with more than a few conservative values.

But the plain truth was the Lad was in his prime and had hormones enough fer probably the whole crew… And… well… it had been quite some time since his last time….

“Milk?!” Sam’s expression brought Asher back for the moment. “Ma’s gonna be right proud of ya, son,” he chuckled, shaking his head and clapping a hand on the Kid’s shoulder.

Asher grinned at his friend before, winking back at Beth, “What can I say? Just trying t’ keep all me bones big and strong.”

Sam smirked and nodded an affirmation to the barkeep; “Bring the boy ‘is moo-juice, I reckon. I’ll take a mug of whatever ya got on draught an’ slide me a whiskey, too… neat.”

“Ain’t got no milk to give sir” the Bartender’s tone is respectful to Sam, upon production of coinage.

“Give the kid a break, Chester,” Beth sways her way to the back, then returns with a mug of white which she passes to Asher. “You ain’t been off home long have you? What’s your name?” She asks while resuming her leaning on the bar stance. “Cause I reckon it ain’t Wow.” She says with a smile.

“Name’s Asher, ma’am,” Asher took a long swig of the offered mug. “But, you might be surprised how many ladies have called me `Wow’.”

“Looks like everythin’s gonna be peaceable, Kid,” Sam say, offering Asher a wry smile, and a lecherous glance at Beth, “When yer done suckin’ on that cow’s teat, I don’ reckon the Cap’ll be none too offended if’n ya was to take a run at them-uns. I’m gonna take this ta Wyatt…”

His attention on Beth, Asher just smiled and gave the pilot a nod, “Alright… but don’t been getting’ int’ no imminent trouble, ‘cause, well, I just might be a little too preoccupied to get my hand on a trigger fer ya,ya get me?”

Once the pilot had left, Asher downed the rest of his mug and gave his full attention to Beth, “So… there maybe some place a bit more private we can continue our conversation? I think I’d like t’ get t’ know ya a might bit better.”

If one of your invitees would prefer a rogue-esque character over a wizard-esque character, I would be willing to create the arcane spell chucker.

If they're looking for a pre-gen, they are welcome to take over Tobin. He is a cool character.

Subject: How many...

How many characters do you need for this game? We've got 4 so far...

An Syl Fighter/ Bard (mostly melee fighter, buffer)
A Human(ish) Fighter/ Soul Seeker (melee fighter, smattering of spells/rogue skills)
A Khord Cleric (melee fighter, buffer, healer)
A Cidal Ranger/ Rogue (ranged fighter, trapfinder, face)

If need be, I'd be willing to change my character to what the party needs. We're a bit light in the arcane department, though, without Tobin, the party would be light in the rogue department.

If anything, I only advert for 1 arcane spellcaster character (beguiler, sorcerer, war mage, wizard). My hope would be for a wizard with some area damage spell effects along with some versitility.

My 2 cents.

Subject: And just so were clear...

I hope no offense was taken to my shoddy attempt at sexual humor. As a player, I am in no way homophobic(at least, I don't think so...) though I may have painted the crowd at the bar as such and, in that sense, perhaps assumed too much. Though, I don't think so. I just finished watching the Firefly series and two episodes come to mind that seem to suggest that people in the Whedon's future still have the same cultural feelings when it comes to same-gender relationships and sex. (Heart of Gold and the episode where Inara has a female client on board the ship.)

Anyway... I knew I was going have Asher order milk as the lad's not so good at holding his drink. The homo milk thing came afterwards and it made me laugh, so I thought I'd share.

Eol... remember in your reply that we've been together for a couple of months (a full year, yes?) so the ordering the milk wouldn't be anything new.

Asher followed in behind Sam as they entered the Idoru. Like Sam, the young lad could hardly make eye contact with the pretty guncheck girl. A nervous, giddy laugh escaped his lips, as he made motion to speak, “Wow…”

And that was it… Ash wore a silly, lopsided grin as he tried not the stare at the bosoms that so enthralled him.

“Damn,” Dash grinned, still ogling the girl, “talk like that’s like ta make me spend all my money!”

The Captain and Sam began to wade their way in, as the girl turned her attention to Asher, who was still lingering. “How ‘bout it, stallion?” she purred as she stepped in to his space a little more. “Feel to need ta sow yer oats?”

Flush-faced, the lad tried to respond, “Ah… wow…” He readjusted his belt. “Ah… yeah…”

It was about then that Asher heard Sam’s invite, “Ya up to a drink, Kid?”

Still speaking to the girl, “… I mean… ah… wow… I gotta… go… now…”

The guncheck girl just smiled, “Alright, then. You best be going.” Her body was saying something completely different, though, as she stepped in real close and whispered, “But you come back, now, ya hear.” Her hand gave him a slight smack on his backside as she stepped back with a laugh.

More than slightly embarrassed, Asher made his way to the bar to join up with Sam. “Sure, I’d love a drink.” To the bartender, he spoke, “A big, ol’ tall glass of homo milk.”

The bartender looked at him strange, and Asher noticed the others at the bar did too.

“What?” the lad asked innocently. “I like my milk thick and creamy.”

Snickers erupted around him.

[OOC: I'll leave it here for Sam, the bartender, or the folks around him to respond.]

Tobin had travelled the pathes to Khordal once before. It had been a short visit with ol' Borric. A more surly khord has surely never lived! the cidal remembered with fondness.

Tobin doubted his old friend would be found within the massive kingdom of the Khords; his warrior friend enjoyed a bit of wanderlust himself.

Still... you never know... Tobin brightened. Wouldn't that just be something.

As the group came up to the western gate of the Khords' kingdom, the cidal was pleasantly surprised at the guards' fair demeanors.

Draven spoke first... Lookin' for a pub to drown out the troubled voices of his soul no doubt. Tobin looked sadly at his companion. A more tormented soul would be hard to find, and the cidal initially thought of joining the dark warrior. Just to make sure he's okay... But the cidal sensed Draven may be looking for some time away from the companions... rub shoulders with more kindred spirits.

Speaking to the guard, "Well, I've been to your great kingdom once before, though I really only scratched the surface of the east side of the kingdom. I prefer to wander a bit, if that be alright, though if you've got some sites you think a surface dweller ought not to miss, I'm open to suggestions."

OOC: Tobin will hang with the others, particularly with the mage... would hate to see anything bad happen to the lass.

Asher was all set and rarin’ t’ go a half hour ‘fore the Roc landed. The lad was more than a bit excited at the prospect of puttin’ his feet on some dirt. It wasn’t that he didn’t like life on the Roc – he surely did. Cap’n and the crew were mighty nice folk and, well, the Roc was like a second home.

But sometimes… sometimes, ya just, ya know, need t’ have yer feet planted on dirt instead of steel. Sometimes, ya just need to see a sun set on the horizon. And sometimes, it’s just good t’ breathe fresh air.

Well… freshish air. Asher reminded himself.

The lad had even dressed up a bit fer the occasion – put on his duster and hat and special, fancy, double holster, gun slingin’ belt with the mighty nice silver buckle. He’d even polished up Leah and Rachel, his precious twin six-shooters, fer their time out on the town.

Yep… he was all rarin’ t’ go and ready fer action when the Roc touched down. So, it should come as no surprise that the lad was more than a bit disappointed when Cap’n came over the speaker, sayin’ Kora and the Kid were on groceries.

Again, it’s not like Asher had somethin’ against shopping, ‘cept fer maybe it seemed a little more like women’s work. And the boy surely did like t' eat. It’s just that Asher liked t’ be where the action was and, well, there just wasn’t a whole lot of action found in pickin’ up food stuffs and supplies.

While Kora worked outside, giving the Roc her lovin’ once over, Asher busied himself with gettin’ some crates and stuff bags together… things they’d be needin' for shopping. When Cap’n and Dash strode on by, packing more than a little steel, the Kid couldn’t help but notice.

“That there be more than a little steel there, Cap’n. Ya look like yer expectin’ t’ see some action. Sure ya don’t want an extra set of hands?” Asher asked eagerly.

[Tag: Sung]

[OOC: I stopped it here. If Sung takes Asher along, super. If not, Asher will busy himself with getting a grocery/ supply list from Trish, and waiting for Kora.]

Just wanted to say that I'll be posting later today. But before we get to far ahead of ourselves, wanted to correct some views of Asher. The guy ain't lazy, ain't nowhere near lazy. Overachiever would be a better word. While I haven't posted yet, Asher would be far more likely to be with Kora, checking over the ship then standing around, 1) becuase he likes being helpful, 2) because he is looking for approval, and 3) Kora's hot and Asher's got a serious case of the hormones!

Anyway, since you have placed Asher by the mule, I'll work with that. But he won't be standing around. Just wouldn't be like him.
