This was actually a comfort break for me. I've been rolling tons of strength-builds (Rangers and Paladins) lately. It'll be fun to be the sneaky type for a bit!

KITHRAN ALDEATH

The circumstances of Kithran's birth are confusing at best and concerning at worst. What she knows for certain is this: her mother must have been Sylvari (judging from her bastard features), but she is an utter mystery and that suits Kithran just fine. The half-elf grew up in the company of her father, a travelling human merchant. Even at a young age, her wandering eyes and twitchy fingers got her into trouble. Kithran was often dragged back to her father by the ear after she swiped something from a fellow merchant's stall. As she grew older, though, her thieving grew more finessed and the complaints withered away. Sure, every now and then a fellow merchant would argue with her father that Kithran had to be responsible for their missing stock, but what could they prove?

Despite her sticky fingers, Kithran grew into a somewhat respectable young woman. She and her father lived a nomadic life, travelling from bustling marketplace to bustling marketplace with their merchant's cart. Unfortunatley, their happy life came to a halt in one particularly profitable city when a lower-ranking nobleman spotted Kithran helping her father at his stall and ordered his guards to bring her to him for the evening. When night fell, two guards ambushed Kithran as she was helping break down the stall and dragged her to the noble in question. Kithran won't elaborate on what exactly happened next, but the facts stand: when morning came, the nobleman's maid found him dead in his bedchamber with his throat slit and Kithran was nowhere to be found. Her father found a hurried letter on her pillow that only told him something terrible had happened and she had to leave to protect him. Kithran fled that city and cut all ties with the father she loved and the life she had lived before.

To make a living on the run, Kithran found herself taking up odd jobs. Her unique talents did not go unnoticed in the towns she settled in for longer amounts of time and Kithran was occassionally recruited by other adventurers to help out on small quests. Combat was quick for her to pick up: Kithran found she preferred dual-wielding daggers, but she's decent enough with a bow if a ranged attack is needed. She found the adventuring life to be more exciting than tending cows or working as a barmaid, so she saved up enough to buy herself some decent equipment and set out to make a name for herself.

As it stands, your party most likely picked up Kithran in some quiet town here or there. You'll have noticed she is a very precise woman who wastes few words, but if you've been around those who fortune has frowned upon, you'll know that Kithran is secretly tender-hearted. She strongly believes good should prevail over evil. Despite her desire to pack her coin purse, Kithran won't have turned down any quest that would bring safety and happiness to a struggling people. She might not be the chattiest of companions, but you know that she'll have your back should trouble arise.

Sorry Eol, I've been wanting a rogue for a bit now! I actually already had a basic concept, just had to flesh her out a bit.

Are we sharing character stories now? Because I would love to intro Kithran

(Getting Dad to change my user to reflect my actual name-rip middle school me and my "rebellious" phase and nicknames)

I heard whisperings of a game re-vamp and decided to pop back in. Surprise! For those of you who don't know, I'm t_catt11's daughter. I'm gonna be weird about being super active but if you are interested in keeping up, you can always shoot me a PM to connect on social media (please don't do this if I don't know you at all).

Probably going to share some art soon and *hopefully* participate in a game or so.

The moment she was assigned her position, Ammpe already knew what would be written in her first reports. After all, she was supposed to keep her eye out for treason and, yes? And had she not already witnessed a few small, tell-tale signs that only a sharp eye can detect in two of her teammates? Tsk. It would not do to be against Friend Computer, Friend Computer knew all and should NOT have to witness such treachery.

"Get to Section 168 of Sector SWR, out the door and take a left. NOW. Thank you for your cooperation."

"Of course," Ammpe chirped immediately and scooted backwards from her position beneath the table. Casting a wary glance at Slipp, she pressed her hair firmly to her head, and while he arms were lifted took a quick sniff: fresh. No worries, at the moment.

Spinning on her heel, she began on her way, determined to prove her worth. As she walked, Ammpe began choosing the words to put in her report, smiling softly to herself at the pleasure of being able to eradicate traitors. Oh, lovely Computer! Ammpe aimed to please.

Ammpe sat at the table with her companions, watching them from the corner of her eye as she nibbled on the food The Computer (Oh lovely, wondorous Computer!!) had provided them. As she ate, she couldn't help but look to where Dweebs sat and narrow her eyes, raking a hand through her bright red hair and feeling a slight thrill at the static that met her palm. She inhaled deeply in an attempt to catch a whiff of the sparks she knew lived within her, but was disappointed.

No matter: she could always sniff out the current later, in private company.

"Dweebs--" Despite herself, Ammpe jumped slightly at Slipp's voice and couldn't help but wrinkle her nose the slightest bit in distaste. Even though The Gospel of the Computer taught that all clones were beautiful creations of The Computer, she couldn't help but dislike the clone. His tic grated her nerves in such an unsatisfactory way, and she'd often imagined herself curing him of the flaw with a bit of shock therapy...

Ammpe tuned out the rest of the slimy clone's words, only getting the gist of his rant about numbers and what-not. In an effort to keep the conversation at the table useful and intelligent, she turned in her chair to face Blowz. Now HERE was a clone worthy of respect; such a good listener, he truly seemed to understand the grace of Friend Computer and she always felt a rush of satisfaction when he would ask her about the stories she told of great Friend Computer.

Just as she was about to start a discussion about their overlooker, though, she was interrupted by a voice that apparently came from beneath the table:

"Hey, troubleshooters! Yes, you, Team MAO-17859 Dot R-2! Down here! Yes, down here, under the table! Now!"

Ammpe raised a mostly-burnt-off eyebrow and resigned herself to speak to Blowz later, when they had time to truly appreciate The Computer. Taking a last bite of her meal, she slipped out of her chair and knelt, patting down her hair so that she could sit comfortably beneath the table.

C'mon Em... You're gonna be fine...

She felt a tickling sensation on her neck though, telling her she wasn't, and glanced over her shoulder. The zombie in pursuit was too fast, so without a second thought, she whipped her pistol up and turned, firing; and brains, blood, and other obscenities splattered on the pavement. Emily panted, trying to steady herself, and shook her head, gripping the pistol tightly and closing her eyes to calm down. You're fine, you saved yourself, you're okay. But...

I can't believe nobody tried to stop me from leaving.

She smiled; it wasn't that strange, since they had been attacked, but still. No one had yelled, or anything; she didn't feel guilty. Emily looked at the store idly, then cautiously began heading back. She couldn't hear their undead attackers, so she figured it would be safe enough.

As soon as she got close, she met Murph's gaze and watched him open his mouth, and she squared her shoulders when-

“…You killed Joshua! How dare you!? You’ll pay! I’ll make you pay!”

Emily shivered at the tone of Amber's voice and glanced at Murph, but the mechanic had already turned the wheelbarrow and was dashing to where Amber stood in front of an -OH MY GOD!- knight. She quickly followed, gritting her teeth; Amber looked like she was about to murder the guy, and something was pressed against her...

That's a child! Oh my god, she's got one of those THINGS!

Emily felt bile rising in her, and she tried to distract herself from Amber clinging the child zombie. She zoned out, glancing away, shutting out the conversation between the rest of them.

She's holding it, she's holding it, she's holding it, she's-

“My people need some quiet. If you know some place we can do that, lead on… If not, we’re headin’ for the harbor and you’re welcome to come along…”

Emily glanced at Murph, watching him speaking to the knight, and bit her lip. After meeting that last survivor... Steve?... She was wary of this strange, armor-clad figure. S*&^, she was even getting spooked by HER group, and they were supposedly trying to keep her alive. Em, don't get all crazy, you can't turn into another Amber!

"Harbour eh?. Excellent idea, at least it worked for Athens. I'm a stranger here so I'll take your lead - I don't know my way aboot so just point the way eh. The name's Brian by the way. Thanks for the offer Tom," The knight watched Amber move away, and Emily coughed. Apparently, Murph was just going to let him join them without any question... But she had no reason not to trust him, so she shrugged and turned away from the exchange once more, looking at Mac. He was still silent and unaware of the world around him; Emily smiled coldly, remembering how she had just seconds been willing to leave him for dead. Now, however, seeing him so fragile... She felt a spark of guilt inside her. How could she have just left him and Father Ted to defend themselves?

“Let’s fall in and get our a$$es movin’, people."

Emily coughed once more and looked away from Mac, situating herself a bit closer to the wheelbarrow and the priest. Murph headed off, and Emily shivered a bit, anxious to get moving. She glanced once more at Brian and grimaced slightly, then forced a smile.

"I'm Emily, and I'm kinda the group doctor. If you get hurt, just tell me, and I should be able to patch you up," Her voice was strained, and Emily's eyes dark with mistrust, "And... If you hurt any of the others, I swear, you're gonna regret it. Now's not the time to get all buddy-buddy, so don't plan on it with me. Murph might trust you, but I sure as hell don't, and I won't."

Subject: Quick Post, sorry, Algebra fried the brain

Emily followed Jake with her eyes and sighed, the hairs on her arms and neck standing up. He'd distanced himself even more than usual lately, and with the latest developments, Emily had a nagging in the back of her skull that pushed foreword each time he acted strangely.

He's turning into one of those things.

Don't be stupid! You don't even know for sure if what... they have is infectious. For all you know, he could just be worried and in pain and trying to pull a toguh guy act...

Then why am I not convinced?

After deliberating for several moments in a silent conversation with herself, Emily turned her back to the direction Jake had gone and looked around the store. She stopped and stared at the broken-into cash register for a few moments more than neccesary, pondering with 'genius' would need money when the world was ending. She shook her head and continued, looking at the shelves dis-interestedly.

I wonder if a nail gun would be useful against them?

Before she even went searching, Emily dismissed that idea, figuring she didn't want to lug around boxes of nails anyways. She paused and leaned her forehead against the cold metal of a nearby shelf/stand, closing her eyes and thinking about the options for a possible new weapon she had here.

In seconds, she'd made up her mind, and set off with a quest. Emily approached Muprh hurriedly, ignoring the others, and stopped in front of him, hands on hips.

"I want a gun."

And just read Mac and Alaster's post, wow, now I'm scared of Alaster's feelings for Em e.e

But wow, monster collab, I feel so important And by the way Murph, leaving Emily would not be reasonable, because then you lose all your medical knowledge and are screwed if something gets infected or you need a diagnosis. Just saying And the DM agrees xDD
