Nobody else asked about traits - You can throw out one feat and pick two traits a la the Additional Traits feat if you desire.

Everyone's character sheets are finished as of tonight - I just have to do images for Geoff and Damian, and update untrained skills in both.

I can't pretend to be omniscient, so please read through your sheet and make sure everything is copacetic. If you have blank spaces, such as some do under languages or deities, get those to me soon. Thanks.

If you fire a ranged weapon: Make sure you have accounted for ammunition in your equipment. No ammunition on your sheet==no ammunition.

I started the character of Roan a couple of years ago - unfortunately I wasn't able to keep up due to life circumstances, and now all my time is being taken up by Slate. Trilogy is a great game and Tann is a great DM.

I guess what I'm saying here is "Bump."

I have recovered a text-only copy after extensive google-fu. It isn't great, but it's good enough for now. I'll try to get images back up eventually.

EDIT: And now I've got a hard copy.

It seems something ate 3/4 of my pantheon. It's a long shot, but does anyone have a copy or maybe a screenshot of the post?

I initially said 3.5 or Pathfinder, because they're closely related, but it's looking more like Pathfinder plus any applicable or compatible 3.5 stuff. Is that sensible?

Okay, I just misunderstood the prestidigitation spell. I thought it was a one shot spell that could only perform one action at a time, but further reading tells me it lasts a whole hour.

Subject: DM Recruitment Thread

I doubt everyone is following the Slate recruitment thread, so I'm putting this here:

My game has EIGHT players. This is probably more than I am ready for at this particular moment, although if nobody is interested I'll gladly give it a shot. Ideally, I would like to either split it into two parties of four operating under seperate DMs but in the same world or (less ideally) get a co-DM in on the action.

This is the best problem I've had in a long time! Hopefully this thread can be used in the future for similar happy misfortunes.

"Yes, but" is the classic DM response to questions of "Can I do X."

Dox, I would love to have you as a player. The game has already begun, but only just. Get me a sheet ASAP, and once I approve it you can get a post going. I'll find a way to work you in.

Holy wow, I HAVE EIGHT PLAYERS! I am now going to actively seek a second DM, ideally to help run a split campaign wherein one party of four goes one direction while another party goes another.

Let me just float this idea out there

What if we made a sort of meta-game thread, sort of a free-form RP version of this forum.

It could be sort of like the default bar that always happens in the chat RP - such and such walks in, dusts off his cloak, orders a froth'n'slosh. It could even have a big black dog named Fred who likes to abduct (and nuzzle) sleeping patrons. A place like this might give new members a place to flex their writing muscles and would be a fun place to launch new adventures from.

Oh man, I think I just got scienced.

On the subject of chat, I don't think you will have trouble joining in. It's usually pretty slow in there - most of us are chatting while doing other stuff. Text does drop off eventually but it takes quite some time.

I can certainly accept the edible fungi idea - that would make a great trade item and if properly tended could keep a village thriving. I'm going to mull over the idea of untouched water. It rings true, but I'm not fully sold on why it would remain pure, and I want to provide an internally consistent world.

You don't need the water to create a strong idea though. The fungus is a great start. Maybe there is a village harvesting that, while another lives near the dry lake and harvests the silty bottom for clay.

Olan, it really looks like you started something here! I'm so glad to see all these faces here, both old and new. Right now we're gaining Innmates faster than we're gaining new games! I was thinking about this last night, and I don't know if this is my place to say, but the site could use a few things:

1. Let's get at least one or two more games open with experienced DMs. Like I said, we're gaining members faster than games. No game to play means no reason to stay.

2. Let's build an "Inn-troduction to Play-by-Post Gaming" post, including rules of etiquette and how to start your own game. It seems this method of play is becoming more rare, and as a result new player confidence has cratered.

3. Please make the main forum page easier to find. This could very well be a huge limiting factor - on my old computer I had the Forum Main bookmarked, because I could never remember how to get to certain places here. Now I know how the site is laid out I can navigate better, but it can be off-putting to the generation that grew up with Facebook.

Again, I don't know that this is my place to say, I'm just telling it like I see it from my perspective.

Any time is fine. If you're more comfortable waiting to see someone else's first post that's cool, but if you've got something you want Damian to do start writing!

Post is up. NPCs have been updated. I'm finalizing character sheets as soon as I get the chance.

Impulse, I bought a few items as per your note on the sheet. If you don't like em, let me know. I'll be finishing your carry weight and skills soon.

EDIT: Reworked the final part of the intro, a bit.
