The pup is fine, as reflected on the character sheet.

Like I said, you could post an introspective or something. Nothing to stop you posting, only from taking an action.

Disappointed to see this, but it's totally understandable. Like Olan said, you've done a lot for the site. We'll all have to pull a little harder in your (semi) absence.

In regards to your "prone" thing:
The character is lying on the ground. A prone attacker has a -4 penalty on melee attack rolls and cannot use a ranged weapon (except for a crossbow). A prone defender gains a +4 bonus to Armor Class against ranged attacks, but takes a -4 penalty to AC against melee attacks.

Standing up is a move-equivalent action that provokes an attack of opportunity.

Correct, your target was down before your turn. You can set an if-then next time if you like, ie, if can't use the spell on target one I'll use it wherever it's most useful.

True that, Silent. I'll post the map as a new reply here, so it'll be perfectly clear when the new one is up. If you get revived this turn, you'll get an action. If you don't, feel free to post an introspective.

Everyone else - I don't want to steer the train one way or another here, but this would be a perfect time to make friends with the cold mystery that is Clary.

Chess, you missed and I was having trouble writing last night. I wanted to keep a feel of momentum and couldn't figure out how to do that with a solid miss. I'll write something in if you like.

You're right, I didn't write out Sil's attack. He actually bit the guy and did damage, I just forgot to explain it. I'll update the post tonight when I do the map.

I do not punish players for acting in character. The character's actions might put them in a tight spot, though.

:-)

EDIT: Map update tomorrow. Tonight - sleep.

Topic: Slate: The Hundred Years of Rain
Subject: Ouch.

You will not survive without your precious pure water.

The womans words died in the evening air, having nothing to echo from. Her hair whipped in the rising wind, still desert-hot and unforgiving, but now carrying the distinct acrid taste of Rain. She saw in her mind's eye an image of the barrels, still sitting on the cart. Yes, she could break them both. She held the spell taut in her mind, waiting for the precise moment, or waiting to release it back into aether.

For a moment, nobody seemed to breathe. On the inverted hull, Daxos of Clan Turin crept noiselessly toward the ledge. The twisted creature whose ancestors had been called wolverine, snarled. It broke the moment's silence like a clap of thunder. Then everything seemed to happen at once, as if the entire battle was hinged on the release of a single bowstring. In fact, it was.

A woman's voice followed the creature's snarl. "The old man's life is not my problem. I'm that type of person."

The swordsman who had struck a blow on Damian shouted at his blinded leader. "She draws on you!"

The spell flew. Clary released her arrow. Dax leapt down from above, sword slashing wildly. Xana spoke the deplorable word. There was a wild creak and a pop. Water was everywhere. Blood was everywhere. Pain was everywhere. The leader and the barrels all laid on the ground spilling out their contents.

The swordsman was eager to follow his leader's last command, and so broke off from combat with Damian. Damian struck out with his quarterstaff and hit the swordsman in the chest as he moved away. Undisturbed by what little damage he had taken, the swordsman approached Father Maarten and with a single stroke of his sword seperated the old priest from his life.

Athelia took a step toward the fallen leader's pet, and with what appeared to be one motion both her scimitars crossed its hide. Geoff followed suite and stuck Broy's Arm deep into the creature. It howled in pain, both from the cold steel and from the terrible thing Xana had said, then fell onto its side helpless.

Hardly noticing the combat, hardly feeling the weather turn, the man who knelt beside the fallen mage was pulling something from his pouch. It was a potent salve. He applied it to the woman's wounds with an out of place tenderness. She stood up, and they embraced. It was a mere moment before she saw what had transpired, and she was no stranger to battle. Two scorching rays flew forth from her hands, one striking Damian full in the chest and the other missing him by less than an inch.

The last to act was the woman with the extra-large axe, but she made it count. She glared at the wolf, then at Clary. With an underhand motion, she brought the axe up into Clary's ribcage. The axe landed there with a sick thud. The woman drew it back with some effort. Clary landed on the ground, blood pooling all around her. She could only last a handful of moments without aid.

[[OOC: Tough round for you guys. 25 points damage to Clary (Crit). Damian 16 points damage. Hate to down anyone this early, this is just how the dice fell today.]]

With the combined efforts of Hammerfoot and Vengador, combat had come to a sudden standstill. Still, the creatures weren't destroyed, only repelled. After a verse of his song came to a close, Aedan stopped singing for a moment, but found it wise to continue playing this dulcimer. His hands a blur over the strings he shouted to his companions.

"Well done Sir Hammerfoot! Well d-done Sir Vengador! The gods protect us s-still. This next lyric will be a hymn to their p-power."

Solanis, our God of Light
and Kharox who joined our fight
We thank you for lending your might
Your power helped us get lucky

The team had lost absolutely no momentum when the undead turned tail. Already Talca and Rae had set up a guard. Vengador continued in his absolutely indispensable role as a holy man, cleansing wounds and blessing the dead so they would remain at rest. Aedan grinned as he sang, happy to see his people doing such good in the world.

10 feet on a side means 2 squares on the map. It's four squares, there's no ambiguity about it in the rules.

I'm unsure why you're worried about blindness, the only blinded character is the boss woman.

Topic: Batman v Superman Dawn of Justice
Subject: Blah

It may get a little tedious, but it is well worth watching this movie, because the Script from start to finish sets the stage for the future Justice League and Wonder Woman movies.

You've actually just convinced me to avoid this one. It's something a lot of superhero movies do that really grates on me - they make a two and a half hour slog of a movie that doesn't do much except set up another long movie that potentially sets up another one, all while forgetting to make THIS ONE any good. It's also possible to make a movie worth watching that also sets up a long line of sequels (See Iron Man, Mad Max, Captain America...)

The fact is, a Justice League movie - ok, ANY movie, ought to be able to set itself up in the first half hour, especially given the protracted run times we've been dealt for the past decade or so. Especially superhero teamup movies. "Big Bad - Can't beat. Get Wonderwoman, Superman, and Batman. Heck, get Squirrel Girl. We need the whole crew." Boom. Done.

I think this is why I enjoy origin stories as much as I do. The filmmakers have to build an audience from almost nothing, and as a result they make a captivating movie. When the audence is baked into the franchise a la Batman & Superman, they can get away with murder.

Ok, rant over. Obviously enjoyment is a very subjective thing and it isn't my job to tell you what's good. This movie clearly isn't for me though.

0. You are correct about the "life's blood" thing. I will be treating enemies, NPCs and PCs with the same rules for death. You will need to either coup de gras enemies, let them bleed out, or hit them so hard they die immediately.

1. Yes. Definitely.

2. You can move and change weapons with the same move action, because your hands aren't tied to your feet. He can jump and change weapons at once. That's his move action, and he then has an attack. If the timing were right, yes he could stand a chance of disrupting the spell. Hacking and jumping. Yeah, I'll rule of cool that if that's your plan. As for bonuses, you're all already benefiting from the blindness (-2 to AC, -Dex Bonus to AC). And yes, you have a chance to damage her.

Topic: The Evil Best Left Buried
Subject: A Song for the Bold

"Lysora save us, they have come!"

"BEHIND US"

Aedan spun on his heels to face the weary party of travelers, his merry tune cut short. It hadn't seemed to have had much effect anyway, but he had continued playing for his own sanity. A shiver went up his spine. He had been in the rear of the party when the disembodied laughter started. He pushed his way toward the center of the group and silently vowed to spend more time talking to that behemoth Vengador and less in his own poorly protected skull.

He secured his notepad in the specially waterproofed side pouch he had picked up some time ago, and undid the buttons that held his daggers in place. This was going to require The Hammers. He drew the two daggers, as thin as stilettos. They were specialized. Dual purpose weapons he could use to strike both his enemy and the strings of his dulcimer.

After a moment of panic, the team was clicking into place once again. They moved like a machine in times like this. It struck him that they moved like the pieces in a music box, and his song was what they produced. Without the cogs, there would be no music. Without the music, what was the point?

Grasping The Hammers by their tips, he began to play again. This time he hoped it was something a little more influential than his song had been only moments ago. They needed to get lucky.

Hear the legend of heroes six.
Who faced fear and the dense mist
Forever fighting darkness
Their forces overpower

They've come so far
now they stand
once again

So we'll hum a bar
write their names
in the stars

I sing of Talca the Brave!
I sing of Rae and her Faith!
I sing of Hammerfoot's name!

I sing of Vengador Mighty!
I sing of Vengador Mighty!

I saw the spells of Irel!
I witnessed Pepper's deceit!
I sing of Hammerfoot's Feet!

I sing of Vengador Mighty!
I sing of Vengador Mighty!

THE PREVIOUS MAP UPDATE HAS BEEN ALTERED.
Xana has been properly moved and the priest was added back to the map.
Nomad:

1) You can see the man and his fallen love as well as the priest. The leader is standing right under the edge, you can see her but only in part.

2) The drop there is approximately 5 feet as noted in the original map (I dropped the numbers to make the map easier to read).

3) If you intend to land on her it would be some kind of acrobatic move, as landing right on her by jumping straight down is impossible.

4) The gold circle is glitterdust, it's a settling cloud of sparkling dust but that longer holds the threat of blindness.

Impulse:

A) A spell which requires concentration is usually listed as Duration: Concentration + X rounds.

B) Neither of those spells have such a duration.

C) You may only concentrate on one spell at a time unless it is otherwise noted in the spell.

D) http://www.d20srd.org/srd/skills/concentration.htm

E) If she is using a spell to target the cart or barrels, all she has to do is to form a vivid image of the target in her mind.

F) Light Armor. Yes. +4 Bonus to dex would create a +2 bonus to initiative and AC.

Nimu:

i) I updated the map. Thanks for pointing that out.

ii) Xana is slowed to 15 ft of movement. She is headed for the cart but didn't reach it.

iii) A creature swarm occupies a square (if composed of nonflying creatures) or a cube (if composed of flying creatures) 10 feet on a side. Its reach is 0 feet. A swarm does not threaten creatures in its square and cannot make attacks of opportunity with its swarm attack.

Silent:

a) Yes, there is the spell called Purify Food/Drink. Clerics use it regularly to cleanse collected rainwater.

b) Yes, you could
