Topic: Star Wars: Patterns of Deception
Subject: BY THE RANCOR OF SATAN!

It been a good day when Lysander had first sauntered in to Klebb' Cantina, all things considered. He was alive, he was not under reas and he was not attracting too much interest. He preferred Klebb's over the other cantinas on Dathu, something about being independant stirred something inside him, and staff was even friendly, leaving him alone with a mere request. He leaned casually back against the bar, his gaze directed at the transit ship landing not far from the cantina.

"Some more people coming to waste their lives away..." he muttered under his breath. Probably more miners. Rather boring, but hopefully they had some credits. Down-on-their-luck miners had a habit of gambling, and Lysander had a habit of relieving them of their credits when they did.

Lysander's gaze moved over to the figures already waiting on the landing platform. There were a good distance away, but their attire marked them as something special. Lysander leaned forward a bit, focusing on the pair.

"Jedi!?" he said, a little louder than he wanted to. "What in the world are they doing here?"

His question was answered rather quickly, and loudly, when a massive blast ripped across the landing pad and the transit ship. Lysander could feel the heat where he sat, and could only imagine what those onboard had felt. While he sat for a moment in shock he saw one of the jedi rush aboard, while others did their best to put out the flames.

For himself, Lysander that a moment longer, his jaw hanging low in shock while the other patrons of the cantina rushed towards the window. It was perhaps because he stay'd behind that he noticed the pair of Arcona that had casually entered durign the commotion. Unlike everyone else they seemed undisturbed by the commotion and talked hurriedly to each other as they lazily viewed the scene.

Lysander has spent his life around shady characters, and he could pick them out with the best of them. The uncaring attitude of the pair suggested something about them was amiss, and Lysander would do his best to figure out what it was. Who knows...maybe there would even be some sort of chance to garner some credits out of this...

(OOC: Going over to try to listen in.)

The Krim Mountains, Far Northern Tar’Talon

The angry screams of the bandits echoed oddly across the mountains as they charged towards the pair. Bursting over the bluff in a crude parody of a line they tore across the plateau, clearing over half of the fifty feet separating the two groups before the pair could react. The one with the crossbow remained behind and let loose with another shot, striking Toby in the shoulder but deflecting harmlessly off his fine dragonhide armor. The ambush was fast but so far ineffective, and it took only a second for the pair to get their bearings.

Toby was the first to react, grabbing his whip and shield and heading out toward the approaching horde trying to put something between them and the frail looking cleric he accompanied. With a loud *snap* his whip lashed out like an angry tongue, wrapping tightly around the lead bandit’s leg and pulling him into the air. In the same fluid motion Toby swung again, whipping directly across the man’s chest, the whip sizzling and leaving a long bibbling black gash across the fallen man’s abdomen. The other bandits quickly took notice of the threat and eyed each other warily, Toby’s whip gave him nearly uncontested control of his immediate area, he would be difficult to avoid.

Ishkanna, seeing Toby locking up the ground battle, drew her bow. The crossbowman was the only target out of Toby’s range, and she looked to ensure that he would not be able to take advantage of this. Her eyes darkened, and in a moment she embodied all of nature’s fury. She drew back an arrow, its shaft becoming cloaked in a deep black outline as she did. With prefect precision she let the arrow fly, catching the bandit directly in the throat and knocking him bodily into the air and out of sight. Her eyes brightened, and she adjusted her position slightly, careful to keep Toby between the remaining bandits and herself. She knew full well how frail she was it would seem.

((OOC: Ryst you tripped a fellow and hit him in the chest, Reralae you crit’d a fellow and hit him in the neck. If anyone moves more than 5 ft you get an AoO Ryst, and lots of the trip attacks. This should be fun))

Subject: I smash damn well

It was not everyday that Grugg saw this much smashing. Grugg had smashedd tall man. Tall man had smashed Grugg. Grugg had smashed ground. Grugg had smashed dragon-piss. Grugg was smashing well today. That said, there was little left to smash.

The only thing left to smash was other orc. Orc did not need to be smashed, he was like Grugg. Grugg did not like to smash Grugg. The orc had taken bottle from dead pink skin.

“We need you strong, and that shoulder not strong anymore. This good juice, make you full power. I do what you say, you are big boss now.” Grugg spoke little, even in orc, but he understood this. Grugg was big boss now. Grugg got to have shiny things like bottle now. Without so much as unstoppering it, Grugg tossed the tiny bottle into his mouth, crunching the bottle into powder and swallowing the substance within. As a nice tingly feeling washed over his shoulder Grugg got excited. He felt good again. It was time to smash...and jump.

Grugg looked to the north. Grugg knew goblins would be north. Grugg hated goblins, but he did love to jump. With a mighty "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH" he leapt forth, building up speed as he prepared to smash, and jump...and smash.

(OOC: Going north...why not.)
