I agree
I will try to remember that I have to ask for such checks; I too am learning all about this stuff. The story telling is easy, the gaming is not!
Also, If we are going to try my idea of Non-magical, I suggest we do just that and attempt that first and then if it doesn’t work we can attempt magical means.
Tann said this about these creatures: The life forms she sensed were unlike anything she had ever sensed before so incredibly strong in magic, it was as if they were nothing but pure black magic made corporeal somehow.
I think because these things are pure magic then magic is weak or useless against them; Kenji’s shout worked because it isn’t magic, yet his weapons and most of your guys/gals weapons are too, so I think we need to go old school on them.
I think that any magic we use against them wont work or could backfire; so I think we should not attempt any magic unless the non-magic way doesn’t work. Maybe magic that is cast upon us, protection spells, might be ok though.
Those are my thoughts.
Oh and yeah is Maggot with us again or not?

Clarifaction on Resurrection spell
Please take notice of the highlighted sections as Keeper is incorrect in his last post.
Also a question as its not stated in the spell description, can a Resurrection spell be cast more then once on the same person??
Resurrection
(Necromancy)
Reversible
The priest is able to restore life and complete strength to any living creature, including elves, by bestowing the resurrection spell. The creature can have been dead up to 10 years per level of the priest casting the spell. Thus, a 19th-level priest can resurrect the bones of a creature dead up to 190 years. The creature, upon surviving a resurrection survival check, is immediately restored to full hit points and can perform strenuous activity. The spell cannot bring back a creature that has reached its allotted life span (i.e., died of natural causes). Casting this spell makes it impossible for the priest to cast further spells or engage in combat until he has had one day of bed rest for each experience level or Hit Die of the creature brought back to life. The caster ages three years upon casting this spell.
Lets see Maggot is a 14/13 giving him a total of 27 LvLs which means Cor, not Maggot, if the spell is successful will be unable to do ANYTHING spell or combat wise for 27 days!!
Even halfing that and rounding down Cor will be out of it for 12 days. You might want to see if you have anything that can drop that number down. If he does cast it your choices, as I see them right now are two. #1 go into combat without him, #2 wait the 12 days

Ok to clarify
Cor IS NOT resurrecting Maggot at this time, but joining the fight against the creatures and your NOT exactly testing if the weapons work but throwing the javalin, seeing if it hits, if it does your then attacking them. Your also not resting or rememorizing spells but attacking right away.
Is this correct??

Leader's Choice
I say it is up to Cor to decide, for Kenji it doesnt matter, but if we arent going to use spells during the combat, does we need to wait? I dont know. Spell casters might want to sound off on their thoughts of which spells they want to use and if they want to wait or proceed.

Current plan is to go up now, no waiting to regain spells.

Still..............
Well the fear that the dimension door won't work could be concerning, but all the other spells that weren't aimed at the creatures have worked. The invisibility, the cloudkill, the fire elemental and flying. So I still feel it is a good quick way to get to the stand. Ulthok can take one other light person along with Althena. If we can go invisible the creates are low intelligence so they will be fooled. They didn't see Sirene.
If Haila comes she still has Teleport that can take her and Althena back to safety.
Ulthok could first have Althena and Haila pick him up then he can cast 10' radius invisibility to hide them and then open the door so they can carry him through, the touching allows him to take the live matter with him.

I agree but
You see I fear that if you take the Lady Althena over there while the rest of us are engaged in combat with these things it could go all wrong. Nothing has been as it seems in here and I doubt it will be that easy to just teleport or door over there.
I think we should dispense with these creatures and then deal with the next thing.
But that is my thoughts, the last I will say about it. Do as you will with your character.

creatures first
Lets deal with the creatures first then go after the glowing thing that might be the sword. Would be very bad to spring some sort of trap while already engaged in combat. Also remember to gang up on the creatures. It is far better to kill one than wound several. They get return attacks while alive and I bet they will still hurt alot so best to reduce number around to attack back.
