Oooh ooh! Pick me!

I was a huge fan of the cartoon forever, because I thought the original series was too geeky. My mother would take me to conventions every year and I secretly liked it, but would never admit it. Then TNG cme along, and I thought it was great. Hip, attractive, topical, political, but with enough story that I could ignore all of that other stuff. I loved Doctor Crusher because she was a strong, sexy woman in charge. She was intelligent, flirty, and I really appreciated the relationship she had with Picard.

But... Q was my favorite. He was so petulant and arrogant, he reminded me of Trelane. His relaionship with Picard was similar to Spock/Doc, and it was great to see Star Trek with more women. Amanda and the Q Continuum was great.

I don't know if i have a favorite episode. I loved the ones that played with TOS plotlines, such as Yesterday's Enterprise, and THe Naked Now (although Denise Crosby should never be allowed on screen ever at all under any circumstances under penalty of death). All the holodeck episodes. Datalore. Everything Q. All Vash episodes. But...nothing with that Dr. Pulaski. Ugh. I couldn't stand her.

Least favorite characters... Tasha Yar and the Romulan daughter crapfest. Dr. Pulaski. Just because, really.

Favorite species....evil? The Borg. Like the Daleks and the Cybermen had little singleminded babies. And Romulans. Because cloaking is made of win.

Not evil species? the Q.

A couple of questions...

1. To what extent is this game freeform and to what extent do actions need GM approval? Apologies if this one's been covered already, I'm just curious to what extent I'd be free to write in NPCs and plot events?

2. Has a date been set for the point when the Charon would have left its dock and begun the voyage? Has a name been decided for the port from which it departed?

If not I'm perfectly happy to make something up of my own, but I'd prefer to avoid contradicting anything that's already been decided.

The amount of freedom you have wholly depends on the situation. For example: your character is on DS9 in Quark's. Can you introduce a new dani girl NPC? Sure! Does that character seriously impact the plot where other character's are concerned? No. So, have fun. Another situation: you are an officer on board the ship and in charge of a department. Can you create the NPCs that fill your department? By all means. Can you toss in plot twists? Provided they don't ruin the storyline, detract from the main story, or step into other character's jurisdictions without consulting the player, you should be fine.

We encourage small side stories that force character interaction, cause some problem solving scenarios, etc. A couple of us know the plot and will set things straight should it become necessary.

As for the Charon's departure...she isn't leaving DS9 until the Cerberus arrives. I haven't designated which docking gate she's currently harbored at for repairs either.

Hope that helps.

I know...

I usually don't say one thing and do another, I promise. Hectic week with fourteen hour work days...I'll post soon though.

it's all good, just too much time on my hands since my Arena fighter was knocked out in the first round.
