Ok

So we are good then.

I will check out this other 'session' that Mac had with the previous counselor. I am sure it will be in Mac's record. I look forward to Mac's first session with Serene.

Timing

My character was reassigned to the Discovery in late April, according to his bio (in the Roster).

For a general timing sense when constructing my character I had looked to see when the last game ended to see where to "catch up to".

..and we're live!

Okay, folks... we are live!

In this type of situation, it (obviously) doesn't matter if you are on or off duty. Department heads are expected to proceed to their post with all possible haste; other officers will have assigned stations.

It's not yet 3:30 AM, so I would expect that pretty much everyone will have been asleep.

Please post accordingly.

Sweet merciful oddishes on saturday

Lt. Leiran is not going to be happy. Accessing from my mobile so I don't have the ship schematics handy, but I don't need them to know that she is going to be very unhappy. Maybe even, gasp, angry?

Just kidding, she's a cool headed kitty for the most part

Post will be incoming in a few hours once I'm out of class

yep

Lieran's area is not directly affected - this would be crew quarters (deck 20), enginering labs, impulse engines.

Of course, being woken this way is not fun for anyone...

Very nice start. Immediate action, no time for chit-chat. I like that. I almost started writng a post immediately.

heh

Glad you approve. I decided to try to curtail the "several weeks of posts without actually doing anything" that Trek games seem to encourage.

wise

A good plan.

Tell me, how do shifts run on a starship? I seem to remember that you had it posted once.

well

Duty shifts consist of three eight hour watches. 0800-1600 is the day (Alpha) watch, 1600-2400 is the evening (Beta) watch, 0000-0800 is the night (Gamma) watch.

Of course, every officer won't be on duty every single day. It's up to each department how they fill the various shifts.

Some officers (Operations Chief is a good example) may split their time between a bridge watch and managing a department.

okay

So it would make sense if two officers were finished their beta shift and enjoying a drink at Ten-Forward when the 3am boom boom occurred. Okay. Great.

yep

That would be three hours after the end of their shift, with the next not happening for thirteen hours. So sure, beta shift folks might be at ten forward.
