Thinking on this a bit more, maybe instead of taking the guise of gargoyles, Siréne uses veil to make us appear to be nothing more than bits of rocks and dust flying through the air. What do you think?

Rocks and dust 2-3 miles up falling down to the ground sure I could see that but the same moving up, I don't know about that.

Could we look like sky? :-/

How about insects? I'm trying to come up with a way for us to escape notice but still be able to see one another. It would also be nice to be able to use the veil for a bit once we've gotten into the castle.

Any ideas?

I still think if the Castle was "plucked" from the ground then there would be earth clumped under and all castles has drainage or secret escape tunnels that would like be visible or sensed.

So veil as gargoyles and fly up, search the underside. If nothing then fly around back and over back wall.

Well, I agree that we should look for a back door entrance. That could be a good idea. There is the possibility that the castle was never really built in the ground in the first place, so... Anyway, the gargoyle form makes me a bit nervous, I think there is a lot that could potentially go wrong there. I'd rather take on an innocuous form and be as close to invisible as possible.

I think most the normal flying things won't go near the castle. Bugs might but they are too small and would slow us down.

We need to fly up in a round about fashion so we don't look like we are coming with the peg and eagle riders.

Of course we could look like vultures or bats.

I agree, we definitely don't want to look like we're with the pegasus brigade. My thinking with the bugs is that they would be easily ignored, allowing us to go about our business pretty unhindered. It's just an illusion, so I don't think we'll be affected speed wise. Besides, bugs are pretty damn fast I was thinking we could all hold hands when we fly up there so we don't loose one another.

Bats would be a pretty sweet guise, if we were flying up at night I'd be all about that.

Anybody else want to weigh in? Do we have any other ideas beyond Veil?

if we combine the recon and the vale senarieo we could get a foot hold on the assault. pending what numbers we get on the recon. i like the idea of a night assault in bat form.

I think the veil won't make us look that small, just resemble bugs. We would be a bunch of BIG bugs.

idk about being big bugs but i could see defiantly a swarm of bugs. lots of beatles swarm and fly @ night.

Ok, I just got something cleared up with Tann about familures.
Peri is my first so I needed to clearify just how linked a character is to it's familure. I knew Ulthok had a mental link that shared thought but I've found out it can be stronger and Ulthok can see or vision in detail what Peri sees.

So as I had said earlier about sending Peri up to scout so Ulthok could use Demension Door, well now Ulthok can use Peri to "see" the courtyard and then he can relay that information to the group in words and drawing. We can then use Teleport to get in the castle. There are several with teleport ready and we can carry several members each.

If you all are cool with this idea I'll get a post in character to go over this and a couple of other items.

Sounds like a good plan, perhaps safer than the flying up there plan. Has the element of surprise maybe and will remove chances of being intercepted before we get there.

I think we should go with it.
