Old Steel from which to forge new beginnings!

I'll see what I can do about getting a post started of Ch'dau and Ara arriving in Meadwobrook, shortly.

Admara . . . 

It's a bit funny how Admara came about... I knew that Aranwen was retrieving the metal from the home she grew up in, but initially just thought she'd do what she expected - enter and leave with none the wiser.

Then I heard Admara investigating the sound of footsteps, and... well, that's what happened.

It does make sense that Admara wasn't mentioned by Aranwen before since, as she said, Admara was very small last she saw her several decades prior, and Aranwen has been generally out of contact.

...although, at first, it struck me as odd that Aranwen had never mentioned siblings before. Theeeennnn I started thinking about it and it occurred to me that Ch'dau has brothers and sisters back on Capasha that he's never told anyone on Antaron about, soooo... *shrug*

Anyhoo... Admara was a great addition, imo... besides, she sort of inspired the whole "m'ke" bit so there's that.

A little snippet that came to mind the other day of the little Aldeaths, also touched in their own way by the events in HC, trying to makes sense of the modified pieces they learned.

Just a couple hopeful kiddos.

They are a lovely trouble-seeking duo

Randel: Just make sure they don't have too much sugar this time, Kithran

Randel: My god . . . there is chocolate . . . everywhere
Kithran: *chocolate all over her face* yes, but it was free.
Randel: Was it free?
Kithran: . . . was for us . . .

...Uncle Fuzz-face gets to see them again... y'know, for Kazari Kristmas or something!

Danny: Look, Mom! Unkah Ch'dau brunged me a knife!

Chora: *squeals* Unkah Ch'dau brunged me a knife, too!!! C'mon, Danny, let's go stab stuff!!!

Danny: I get to stab you first!

Chora: No! I get to stab you first!

Lina *rolling her eyes at Ch'dau*: No stabbing each other!

Danny and Chora: Awwwww!!!

Chora: I know! Let's go stab that D'hrugen priest camped by the towers!

Danny: YEAH!!!

Kith: oh, oh god, no. Put--no don't touch that part! *sweating* I am so sorry, he didn't tell me he was bringing them knives. Put the pointy end back in the sheath! Whew, okay, first thing in the morning I will take you two out to learn how to stab each other responsibly *glares at Ch'dau*

Ch'dau: *blinking dumbly and holding out his paws in question* What? Steel is always a good gift, is it not?
