I know that. Was just saying that the Field Dress Uniforms are changing to blue so that it cuts the cost of having to redo uniforms and issuing them and such, cause most (or all?) have dress blues for formal occasions. It is now just gonna be the blues, mandatory by 2011 I do believe. I have the date in a soldier's almanac that is back in the house. But humbug, I'll let you have your lease. .

Tann

No apology necessary. Characters will be characters.

Correct me if I'm wrong military buffs, but Sergeants are NCOs (non-commissioned officers) and as such, aren't called "sir". Instead, they are called "sergeant" or "staff sergeant" accordingly. As a matter-of-fact, something they say quite often is, "Sir? I'm a sergeant (or staff sergeant) boy! I work for a living!"

Brom is correct

Only Officers are called Sir, Sergeants are called just that or Staff Sergeant or 'Sarge'. Also only Officers are saluted never NCO's so YeOlde you only need to salute the Lt and not myself. And if I remember correctly, but not 100% sure, I believe there is no saluting indoors. Its been a long time since I was a Staff and as such not sure if I am correct.
Also Brom I will respond to the LT before I head out Sunday to Maryland.

T'was a test

No need to apologize, just live with the consequences...Charlie, like any punk or goth, dresses to provoke a reaction...if you don't want to be noticed and commented on, you blend.

But to clarify on previous comments...A CWO is considered a NCO? So no sir or ma'am....just Chief? I know to call the LT sir...and haven't decided yet what I'm calling the Sarge lol

Stuff

You are correct about the Sergeant not being called sir, and not saluting him.. others were doing it so I just didnt want to say anything to offend anyone.. but you do salute officers indoors, at least I had to when I was in the service.. you just had to remove your hat indoors.

I wasnt offended by your post.. not sure why anyone would be... just playing your character as I see it. So no worries!

actually...

Warrant Officers are considered to be on par with comissioned officers. They are entitled to a "sir" or "ma'am" - however, "chief" is also appropriate, and is the most commonly used.

saluting indoors

Do believe that comes into a factor only when reporting in or being dismissed from the same situation.

Weapon mods

Are we gonna be able to use 'em like the SF of today uses modifications for the M4. Like forward handgrip, optical sight instead of rail, etc, etc.

*shrug*

If you wanna, sure. Don't expect it to have much impact inside of game performance, though.

Heading out.

I'm vacationing this weekend. Will be back late Sunday, so I'll likely not get a post in until next week. Was going to wait for Tann's reply to his reprimand anyway.
