OK

Well, this seems simple enough.

GM: Is there room to walk around? The general impression was that such a plan probably wouldn't work, but I suppose we could see such a thing.

To the group: Assuming the GM says that walking around will not be adequate, then we need to do something. It seems that teleporting is the simplest option. Or at least it seems so to the non-magical warrior. But that requires the mages to post first. Lothor will post something about standing there looking tall, dark and handsome - and, or course, very dangerous and on guard, once the mages have made their choices.

We have been at the beach long enough!

Might Work...

So it appears with as few as we are the teleport weight limit won't be reached so that spell should work if the mage knows where we are going. We all join hands and away we go.

The spellcaster is able to teleport a maximum weight of 250 pounds, plus an additional 150 pounds for each level of experience above the 10th (a 13th-level wizard can teleport up to 700 pounds).

So is this what we are trying????

If all are on board

Let's do that then. Siréne can fly and has teleport prepared too. So we have a few options for who gets us over there.

No post tonight

Ok things have been happening here in real life kinda fast since Friday.

My Mom now has a 9am Hernia operation tomorrow morning and needs to be there by 7am for Op prep. We were not 100% sure of this till today as we got a confirmation call just about an hr ago from her Doctor. As such I will have no time to post tonight as its a VERY early night for me.

I'll try during the week but if not then hopefully next Sunday as I'll be taking care of Mom once she gets home on Tues-Wed.

As for Nomad's question as far as Peri was able to see the ground around the castle is nothing but foliage a combo of thick trees and swamp like conditions. For you to teleport there would be risky but not impossible, but Sirene would need to see the area for herself. Never forget the four clawed birds are living in the top of the tower and will easily see Sirene coming.

However beyond the ashes the tress are thinner thanks in part to the created destruction and you could easily teleport to the ashes edge if you wanted too.

Questions

Best wishes for your Mom, Tann.

I was actually asking if we could walk around the ash - the current problem.

I was also assuming we would teleport across the ash and walk the rest of the way. What about teleporting part way to the tower so that Sirene doesn't have to go all the way to get the lay of the land, but we don't have to walk it all. Could perhaps have done that and avoided the slaughter . . .

I say mages make the choice and post.

My Thought........

How's this; Sirene flies over the destruction without getting too high so as not to attract the tower birds or too low to not kick up dust. She fixes on a safe spot at the edge just past the destruction as our teleport to place. She flies back, we join hands and teleport over the mess to the far edge. We then hike to the tower using what is left of the foliage as cover.

Tann you take care of mom and this gives us a little more time.

If Nimu posts first then we can all just tell of waiting for Sirene and then joining hands and appearing on the other side prepared hiking into the jungle.

Works

That plan works.

I think the distances are more than you are imagining. I don't think there is much chance of the birds seeing us at the beach. The danger is if we (Or even just Sirene) try to fly to the tower. If we teleport across the ash, we still have quite a long jungle hike ahead of us. At least that is my interpretation of things. Tann's comments on the birds were based on flying to the tower to find a landing spot.

Lets get over this ash and get moving.

Cor's cough

Cor would not have choked in the ash; he doesn't have to breath. One of the benefits of his ring.

Nomads correct

Sirene, flying in the area of the 3 mile destruction zone, is ok. It's if she tries to fly to the tower, just like Peri, she will encounter the strange birds.

Also just to let everyone know Mom's Operation went ok and was rather quick considering and she will be home sometime this week. The day still up in the air.

A big door

Well, the jungle was the hard part, no doubt about it . . .

I say we just go up to the door and knock!

Anyway, I really have no idea other than opening the door, but it is worth noting that given the ruckus above us, we probably don't have the element of surprise.

Good to hear that things are going well for your Mom Tann.

You could try offering her some fried gibberling. I know where you can get a bunch of it - cheap. never been frozen.
