Get to know your ship

Just "re-discovered" this link, folks, and thought I'd post in the Q&A for general reference purposes.

The Advanced Starship Design Bureau website has a nice, well laid-out, rundown of almost anything and everything you could possibly want to know about our beloved Galaxy Class Starship.
And if I'd have been paying attention I'd have noticed that Olan already posted this link on page 1 of this Q&A... ...

Pay no attention to that man behind the blustering Scot.

*whistles*

Glad my character isn't part of the security personnel

I should've looked at that site sooner... so instead of 'Beta Star Probe' it'd be the Class IV probes... it's edited

But, the experimental Xi probe probably can still be the Xi probe...

Mac is colorblind...

...department, rank, race, gender... none of it matters to MacTavish...

...or does it?

I dunno...

Recent actions suggest a possible, slight soft spot for a certain Chief

Note to self: Science Labs are at Decks: 5, 6, 12, 15, and 31...

Did I miss any?

I think you got them all. The CSO's office is on deck 5.

Oops...

I made an entry in the roster for an NPC named Shion Uzuki, but I forgot to add her department (science). I managed to edit her entry, but although she's now in the department, she's not actually showing up in the roster... should I just re-submit her?

Her character id is 118, and her page is here: LINK
However, she IS showing up in the logbook entry position under character listings, so I can still go ahead and update the logbook

edit

Alright, I was unsatisfied with my first post, perfectionist that I am, and though I'm sure I could still rewrite and rewrite it, I edited it and put up the new one. Not a lot of new information for those who read my old one, just thought I'd give a heads up. The action is the same but it gives a little more into Clint's mind and a physical description. Thanks everybody! And yes, there is still more coming, but I'll put that in a different post.

wow

Check out all of the furious posting!

I've added some helpful info to the first page of this thread... a description (and illustration) of the bridge layout.

Oooh, okay...

I just read it; I might have to make a couple of 'Bridge Stand-in' npcs then

... or maybe I'll make them up as they're needed...

Yeah, I think I'll do that

yep

As needed is fine. Also, pretty much any of your officers can serve bridge shifts (need rank of ensign or above).

for serious geekery

Check the first page of the thread. I have uploaded a doc I compiled that contains the full compliment of officers and enlisted crew for the ship, broken by department.

Cetaceans?

So... where are the dolphin tanks?

Speaking of geekery -

The current Bridge Shifts for TAC Officers is as follows:

Alpha Shift (0800-1600) MTWTF - CTO Lt MacTavish
Alpha Shift Sat/Sun - aCTO Lt (jg) Jeff Mueller
Beta Shift (1200-2000)TWTF - Ensign Babatunde Sode
Beta Shift Monday - Lt (jg) Jeff Mueller
Beta Shift Sat/Sun - No "swing shift" TAC Officer on rotation
Gamma Shift (1800-2400) MTWTF - Lt (jg) Benjamin Uher
Gammma Shift Sunday - Ensign Babatunde Sode
Gamma Shift Saturday - Ensign Veronica Soileau
Delta Shift (2000-0400) MWTF - Ensign Veronica Soileau
Delta Shift Monday - Lt (jg) Jeff Mueller
Delta Shift Sat/Sun - No "swing shift" TAC Officer on rotation
Epsilon Shift (0000-0800) MTWTS - Lt (jg) Rrowl
Epsilon Shift Sunday - CTO Lt Jack MacTavish
Epsilon Shift Friday - Lt (jg) Jeff Mueller

So, there ya have it... which TAC officer will be on deck during which shifts... Subject to change if Mac gets a burr in his butt, Cap'n Blair orders it, etc...

cetaceans

This is not a typo - this is canon Trek (though they have never been shown on any TV series, to my knowledge). Galaxy class vessels have a dedicated crew for cetacean research... has to do with three dimensional navigation and other dolphin-y stuff.

I'd say, deck 12 or deck 15.
