Kill that dragon? . Even Cor is not conceited enough to try that. Maybe if Odin showed up he would try to lend a hand.

Oh ye of little faith
I will never put the party into a fight you could not win and a fight vs her, yes could have been very tough, but yet also easily winnable .
Here is the run down of how you could have won if you had put your heads together. 1st biggest advantage you had was her size, creature that big is slow, especially on the ground when she is best in the air. 2nd advantage she's been frozen a long time, when has she had time to memorize a full line-up of spells? What spells did she have at the time she was frozen afterall she was surprised could not have been very many. Also remember she cast quite a few spells vs the Beholders and quite possible did not have any left. 3rd advantage, only 1 of her, 8 of you, spread out and hit from all sides kinda hard to miss something that big. As it has been said, little cuts added up can kill, bleed her out.. See Keeper not an unwinnable fight my friend.

Yes, Yes, I am here. I'm simply a tad... quiet.
I was going to fill the much needed role of a mage... but cannot find anything to help me build a 2e character.

@Tann
So you're saying it will be good if Keeper, Silent and I were to continue roleplaying in the companion thread Keeper made?

We sure can. Will cut down on into time needed later in Trilogy. Always a way for a DM to get a dwarf into a tavern. Probably second place Cor would go after the meetings.

bree...spells
bree, here is a site I've used to tell me what 2ed priest spells can do.
Clerics and priests use the same spells. Where a wizard has a spell book it has been referenced that clerics and priests have prayer book.
You can lookup spells by level or sphere. Clerics need time to pray to their diety to be granted use of the spell. The more faithful the cleric the more likely the spell is granted. This usually done during a rest or other down time. So DM's require this be done daily as in morning prayers. The priest asks for those spells to be granted for that day.
You will see that Keeper has Cor talk to Odin often, this shows a strong faith and so his spells are granted. But if your character fails to show faith then Tann would be within his rights to roll spell success for your character and a spell it casts might not be granted and therefor fails.

I believe for you can find a 2ed player's handbook the spells are also listed in there.

@Odyson
Can you help WonderBlue out in getting him the info needed to create a character? Tried finding a good site but you seem the best in finding the right info. Thank you and post is up.

Hmm, either we accept an offer of and from an evil god or we die. Is it better to die a noble death or live to fight another day?

The Offer....
Well I say the devil is in the details. To fight the dragon now is not to our advantage, she is at full strength and power. To die now takes all the fun out of the story. We need to be careful now what we do and say. Tann leaves openings and also closes oppertunities based on what is said. Read the dragons words of offer. We need to be careful of what we say when we accept her offer because those words will bind us. We need to agree here it Q&A on what should be said and how it is said and who shall say it.
We can accept her offer without binding us to her story of her past. That one act of help may be critical to our mission success and then our truth could be freed.
To my thoughts it should be either Sirene or Cor to do the talking. The Dragon would likely be suspious of what a Rogue or Human would say.
Ok, other thoughts?

Hey Wonderblue....
Glad to help you.
Don't get too caught up in the RulePlay differences of 2.0 and 5.0. We do more in RolePlay and story. The rules apply mostly in combat and Tann controls most of that. What type of hero do you want to be?
To me straight fighters are the simplest characters to play because combat is very straight forward. You are either hack and slash meat shield or range fighter with bow and throwing weapons.
Magic use is a bit more tricky because it can take a bit of study to understand what spells you want to have ready and then how and when to use them.
So first think of the type of characters that were in The Lord of the Rings and deside what fits your fancy. Also read the character sheets of the Trilogy game to help get a general idea.
I can help you build from there.
===========================================
Just did a little back checking on your posts and you have said you'd prefer a Mage.
So I'll start looking from that point of view.

@Odyson
What about an elf? Dragons and elves in many fantasies share a special connection and understanding with them both being creatures of nature and magic.
And dragons and dwarves generally don't get along because they're constantly fighting over territory (the caves and mountains) and jewels. They keep stealing each others' jewels. Thus, they've grown suspicious and untrusting of each other.
