At the moment only the one character has seen the other three rats.  Lothor would certainly use a bow to target the giant rats if he is alerted to their presence.  But short of that he doesn't know about them.  

Also, there appear to be hundreds of rats - death by a thousand paper cuts does not sound like fun.  Lothor can crush them one at a time but that doesn't do much good.  Anybody have an ability to wipe out large numbers of rats at once?

Speak to animals seems like an option, but . . . 

1.  Probably only after the mass has been dealt with.

2.  It is likely the average little critter knows nothing beyond the object of their search.  The 3 big ones on the other hand might know more.  The wererat theory seems reasonable.

Call me a big softy lol, but I don't want to kill any animals unless it's absolutely unavoidable. Maybe the rats are innocent and friendly?

I don't think the guards would classify then as innocent or friendly.  🤔

So.. What if Rayden spoke to them? She has seen them.. 

Does she have the Talk to Animals spell?

I looked on Rayden's character sheet, and she has the Animal Friendship spell, but not Talk to Animals.

If Eaten points out the large rats the group can focus on them and not the small rats

Rayden needs to tell the other characters about the big rats or they will not know about them to do anything.  Please let Lothor know where to shoot.

Post Incoming.. I'm assuming that Lothor is in the same hallway as the two siblings? I'll make my post off that assumption and if it's not right i will go back in and edit where needed. I'm still not feeling 100% so this post may be not my best. 

Post is up, hopefully it's okay and i didnt miss anyone as I'm unsure of who is playing which character and am too weary to actually look up the player names at the moment, but if i did miss anything, it was not my intention. 

Silent your post is fine. Afterall you just met the rest of the party so remembering thier names while trying to decide how to deal with the rats is very possible.
