UGH

Not very complimentary to the dolphins. They probably have names for themselves, In some Fatasy books I have read where wolves communicate with each other that give themselves names such as Softfoot, of Swiftlegs and such. I would think if the creteans truly communicate that such names might be given them.

Especially when other offered names are Petty Officer Spongebob.

Anyway I would name one of the female bottlenosed dolphins, Sleeksides and a male Sharkkiller

BTW did you know that Dolphins are the only other creature besides man that have sex for enjoyment.

derailed by dolphins

The dolphin entries are cute, but remember - I'd rather we keep the roster free of things we aren't planning to use at least every now and then. If you are going to even refer to an NPC in passing on anything resembling a regular basis, make an entry. If not... hey, ceteaceans are a neat idea, but there's a reason they have zero screen time in any trek series.

Now, on a more serious note: I am LOVING the posting I'm seeing, but I don't want us to get bogged down in too many details before the actual mission starts. We're going to aim to have the ship underway somtime next week (in real time). If something isn't wrapped up, you can backpost.

No worries...

It's not like I went ahead and put in every dolphin and whale on the ship

But... I do intend to use Aqua and Merrows... perhaps not right away, but definitely later... so there's a reason why they're on there...

On another note... the whole spiel regarding datrons and darkium is all made up... and I can edit it if needed and such

heh

I thought that you did VERY well with the datrons and such. I actually assumed you must have been doing some sort of research (trek or theoretical science)... so it was good enough to fool me!

Science hm?

Well, pending your character's arrival time, I'll try to make sure Rena's available for the introductory spiel and such

Hey Eol Meri

A couple things: first I don't think Ensign Warwick is aware of the selected time for his briefing, and second as that's bound to be a complex post with you guys interrupting the report with a lot of questions how do you guys want to coordinate? Do you guys want me to post my report and then you guys post your response and then I post the answers or work it out in pm's and then one of us post a complete post on it?

Dolphins and Datrons

Making up science is a proud Star Trek tradition. I live with a physicist who cannot help but laugh his head off whenever I've got it on.

And dolphins aren't the only non-human species to mate for pleasure- there's the Bonobos too (Pan paniscus, or pygmie chimpanzees), who never seem to stop.

Brilliant characters from everyone, I'm really glad to be part of this.

Ion

Timing... I will be addressing that soon. He'll likely be getting a little combadge message from his lovely commander

As for the report itself. I know you have big grand things planned for that

I think the usual way is for you to go ahead and work up your whole report and then we'll ask questions... back post as needed, perhaps like you said with PM's and what not before a final draft is completed, if it is necessary. I personally imagine that the report will go over without too many questions until afterwards... when Callie tries to decide if she should string him up by the laces on his toe shoes or not

That is of course unless Eol or t_catt has a differing opinion... always graciously cave to your elders wishes I always say you both!

new post.

Alright, got a little human interaction going, show everyone their Helmsman in action. I hope it's not too ridiculous, I think it suits the character... if it doesn't get him shot by our lovely Western State over on Deck 25.

Anyways, wanted to bring him in with a bang and give him some friends before all hell broke loose (or should I say, lose him some friends...). Hope its up to par and in line with everything else going on... I believe the time frame works. I also just wanted to clear up the reason why Clint's allowed to smoke.

Grinnity-grin-grin!

Great posts, everyone! I'm lovin' it.

Ion - First off; what Meri said. Feel free to crank out the briefing uninterrupted if you wish and we can have TAC and/or ENG personnel toss questions in with backposts or whatever. If you prefer the coordinate via PM and tack up a single post tack, though, I'm perfectly fine working that way as well. Secondly, "Hemlos Cocoa?" Somebody's been researching! Fantabulous, mate!

DB - If Clint hollers "Yeehaw" when we jump to Warp Speed...

What did she say?

About giving permission for Mac to shoot some space trash? Well looky here... there's some on the bridge!

JK loved the post DB, especially the bit about his all-american briefs... lol...

Working up our dear Western State's response now.

That means I've got two posts to work up, one for DB, one for Ion... and I know Eol will keep throwing **** my way too... I feel so popular
