I just sent two post and neither of them got posted. I lost one last night as well late so I though I would post again this morning, I did and I do not know what is happening

Kyara moved up 100 paces and then retrace her path back to Hieronymus

Okay this one went through I will try to repost my post on the thread.

Okay...

You are all inside the cave, just inside the entrance. Low-light vision only extends about 30' down the tunnel. Darkvision works normally. I'm hoping for some forward motion so I can give a good, solid game update. (Hint... Hint... )

Also, if you guys want (you too Ion) I can go back to updating tuesday and saturday. But if I am going to do that you guys NEED to post often enough to allow it. Alright? Let me know your opinions.

Post away

I'm up for postings as frequently as people get their game play posts in. But in this case we may need to chat before reentering the cave. But then we probably go in again.

Ion

Virif has been officially NPC'd. So don't be expecting any further posts or help from him. If either one of you give me a final decision on a course of action, I will provide a game update accordingly.

The game continues

Since currently it is just the two of you, I will provide updates as often as I am able. Other players are working behind the scenes right now, but you will not be alone when you reach the end of this part of the game.

And if you have any questions about checks or tracking (Kyara?) let me know and I'll respons ASAP.

Thanks,
Steelight

I am goint to check out both paths

I will take the wand an check for sight sound and scent of anything I can sense In the tunnel to the side I will look for tracks and also listen to to what ever sound I can detect. Also sniffs the air coming out of that tunnel before checking the route ahead the same way using a light until it barely reflects on the wall of the curve then after that giving it back to Hieronymus.

Siliwen?

Who is Siliwen? Also, Virif won't be joining you in the tunnel. Since he is now an NPC that would give too much DM interference I think.

Nomad, are you going to relinquish your wand from the grabbing ranger?

Also as far as tracks:

There floor is unfinished stone so it is difficult to find tracks. Some dirt is scattered across the floor giving you the slightest hint. From what you can tell the tunnel you came in through is the most heavily traveled, followed by the one straight across from you. The passage to your right still has signs of passage, but fewer and older than those in the one before you.

As far as this information, it is based off of what you can determine at the intersection. I will wait until Nomad decides what to do with his wand before providing more.

Kyara - If he resists are you going to make a grab for the wand or simply try to ask him to move the light to allow you a better view of each tunnel and it floor?

Hey! That's MY wand!

Not a problem, if Kyara is going to take lead and look for signs and such, she needs the wand more than I do. Heironymus will encourage her to keep it lit, however. Blind clerics are not very useful.

*And he will stand still and follow her lead in terms of which path to take.

If she does not keep it lit...

She will be blind as well. Elves have low-light vision (and in my world that exists in eternal twilight it is double normal... and humans effectively have normal low-light vision as well) you are far enough in now that there is no light save the wand, so low-light vision won't do you much good without it.

More tracking info:

By examining the two paths you confirm that the one straight ahead has indeed seen a great deal more travel. Because of the hard terrain you can only distinguish recent tracks (and even those are difficult). Based on the dirt patterns (Survival roll of 22) it is likely that the most recent tracks head straight forward, but you aren't certain on that.

Wand and tracks

Kyara would ask not take Hieronymus's wand. She will take it with me to examine the two ways, then return it to her and move forward.

So...

You've done that and I've provided the apparent information... now what do you do with it?

Confusion

Ok, gotta go with the DM on this one. I am a bit confused.

Heironymus is generally pretty willing to go with the flow - so he'll do whatever. But he did say he wanted to try the door.

If you do want to go down a tunnel, we will go together, but which one? I don't believe there is a "straight ahead" except for the door.

I'd say door, but you can pick. Since i'm posting the question first, I will let you pick the answer. Unless you have a question, post away and Heironymus will stick with you.

But isn't the door already open?

I'm a bit confused again. I thought the door was already open. If that is the case, what is the point of slamming it open? They already see us. One is coming out the door, slightly blinded.

Heironymus has little choice to attack the one in the doorway, I think. He can't really get at the one behind him. (I think.) He will move off to the left hand side of the door a bit to give Kyara room to shoot.

Or am I mixed up about things?

You are correct Nomad

The door is already open. The guard standing in the doorway is blocking any reasonable attack on the guard behind (an arrow could hit the rear guard but he would be considered to have cover).

Another note, as far as your light spell, you have likely used a number of charges as time has passed in the tunnels. For the sake of the plot and the game I haven't been making you re-cast. When we are done with this part I will determine how many charges you have used if that is acceptable.
