I was just mentioning to Olan that, in thinking about this scenario, last night, I started pulling some pretty concrete ideas together as to what's what where this little speed bump is concerned. I'm in the process of putting together some semi-coherent notes to share with the "command staff" via PM a bit later.

If you crank out a post before I get that PM sent, btw, and need to ask any question regarding the pod or whatever, just let me know and we can hash out answers.

We actually don't have a counselor on board the Peregrine... we just don't have the space.

A personnel management specialist (which is an operations position) is probably someone who handles a lot of scheduling, duty rotations, off time requests, makes sure that people are getting their mandatory continuing education hours, etc.

ok TY i wasn't sure if we'd have a councilor beings the ship was a smaller class.

i'm not trying to do the "mentally unstable" trope, just having Karri being frustrated mentally, physically. as shes' suppressed her warrior/animal side.

I would expect that she would spend a fair amount of time in the holosuites, working off aggression and such.

I did envision Tara doing all the things that Doug listed above as well as a bit of ship counselling (putting her Empathy to good use).

Leah Finnley and Natasha Pierce in the Observation Lounge would also be "unofficial counselors".

Lieutenant Chell has brought these fine people on board, even though they are not medical staff, because he sees the whole of the crew as a living "system" that needs specialists just as much as the warp core. "A happy crew is a unified crew, and a unified crew is a productive crew."
