New to the Game

This is my first time to play online. I am a long time player, with history dating back to 1979, who has recently found himself stuck a home for awhile. Someone let me know what edition and or limitations that I need to know to set-up a character, for whatever game will have me.
Thanx Abraxis

Hey there!

First off, welcome to the Inn!

I moved your thread to a forum where people are more apt to notice your message.

As far as games, anything goes as long as a DM is willing to run it. IF you feel more comfortable jumping right in and playing, try sending a personal message to a GM of a free-form game - or otherwise check out the recruitment forum and see who is looking for players.

Playing online is usually more story focused - and tends to have longer games, with GMs updating every week or so. There has been the occasional chat game formed that are more fast paced.

Feel free to ask anything else.
