Snow

OK, I live in the UK which is one of the worst prepared countries when it comes to snow.

Seriously, an inch brings us grinding to a halt.

I have had well over half a foot this evening where I live, I'm snowed in and the bus can't get into town thanks to a big hill. I'm not going to run out of food or anything but looking at the phone lines it's likely that I will lose Internet access, if they go down it'll be for quite a wile as well.

If I do go inactive it is not because I don't like you, it'll be because my Internet/phone line is down.

EDIT: A friend is coming over from Canada, it'll be like a home away from home for her. Although I doubt she'll understand why so little snow can cause such big problems.

Wah! Loki is ignoring me! Why does he hate me so much?

Hehehe, not to spread any misinformation about Canada being a land where we see snow in the summer, but over here in Alberta it took a good three feet of snow in one evening, earlier this winter, to mess anything up. Seriously, we were helping people not get stuck in the middle of the road, and traffic was hell for those who went out, but lines stayed good at least where I live.

Good luck, and home sweet home to your Canadian friend.
