Arka del’Amro
City-State of Bayris: Bazaar
Early to Late Evening

The jaws were coming to a close on Arka. He had managed to get the woman to safety – well, safer than laying out in the street, but now two of those strange shamblers were moving in on him, cinching him between a rock and a hard place. There was still a little bit of room, though, and he’d have to find some way to make it work in his favour.

Rolling the newly-equipped dagger into an overhand grip, he held the blade near his waist so as not to accidentally harm a passerby, and took a quick look around to assess his surroundings.

Somewhere out there, he heard above the chaos for somebody to use fire against these beings. Since it was leaving a big watery trail in its wake when the solitary figure lurched past Arka, he ruled it out as an effective means of combating them. Water extinguishes fire. Did they hope to boil these things away? Besides… he had no means to effectively produce fire. He had his dagger, and that was what he would make do with.

Still wearing the illusionary garb of his adopted nobleman’s identity, Arka made a rush for the crowds. This defied his usual logic. Typically, he made it his purpose to protect the innocents. But he couldn’t do any protecting whatsoever if these things ganged up on him. Arka was not a stand-up warrior. He dealt death from the shadows, by hitting where it wasn’t expected. And while Arka indeed had felled his share of thugs with a shot to the face or a knife under the collarbone, these things certainly didn’t appear to be human. Attempting to ad lib a new tactic against them just wasn’t going to work here.

Going against all of his ethics, Arka attempted to blend in, shifting one costume for another in the midst. Long white coat with tails, black vest tucked into white breeches, and brown hair pulled back into a ponytail, cropped beneath a white top hat. A smooth, flowery mask covered just his eyes, leaving an unscarred jaw and lips visible.

Perfect masquerade costume. Not good for much else.
But, that was the goal. If these things were looking for him, they certainly wouldn’t find him easily.

Looping through the crowds and drawing his second long knife from his belt, Arka made his way back towards the shamblers, hoping to blindside one from within the cover of the masses.

It might not come cheaply, but it was the best he could come up with against a foreign opponent. Arka dealt justice upon men. But what were these?

(OOC: Arka has shifted his costume using his Hat, and is going to attempt to lose himself among the crowd to try to hit one from behind, going for an Arterial Strike. He will only attack with the Shadow Dagger. The other is merely to guard with.)

Damara

Damara's hit should have cleaved that thing nearly in two. She had not Idea what this thing was. They were in a difficult situation, If it was just them they could have just moved away up a wall over a roof However, there were many innocents that had been herded into this area. She couldn't just abandon them without making an effort. She tumbled back towards Ruahn.

"We need to open one of those ways up to get the people out of here," she called out to Ruahn (She will fight defensively to keep the creatures away from her and hopefully the Crimson Place will rally to force a path through one of the blocked streets for the civilians. Damara also for a door on the square that they might be able to force open and get these people out.

"Crimson Blades, let's Force one of the blocked street open ot a door to get as many people out as fast as we we can."
