I have RPed online for years all what you would call freeform and mostly in chat sites with instant RPing not play by post. But I am willing to try this posting style.

I will probably be looking about for awhile and maybe try to join a freeform game if one is available.

Well anyway thanks for the greetings! I have been checking out some of the posts, especially in the Freeform section. I notice there doesn’t seem to be much going on there and I don’t see anything that interests me really in the recruitment for Freeform.

I will admit I have played a couple games of DnD years ago. The group I joined kind of broke up and I haven’t played since. Everyone kind of got lives and didn’t have time to play anymore. So I don’t think I know enough to play in any of the rules based games and I dont have any books or anything, but they do seem the more prolific of the posts on here.

Glad to see you found us by way of RPG Gateway--looks like those votes are working. Tell your friends about us, and please keep voting for the Inn at the home page so more people notice the site! Anything I can do to help ya get settled in, or if you want the silver piece tour of the place, just shoot me a PM.

Fred is the void in the DragonChat section. If you idle too long you will be booted from the chatroom and be force to log out and log back into the chat again. It warns you before the attack, he counts the minutes you are idle. Sometimes he has a higher tolorance than other days. Try to keep idle time to under 20 mins in the chat.

Don't worry about not knowing the rules, most (if not all) DM's here are really good with teaching people the ropes. They can send you the handbooks, or give you useful links. Some will even create your character sheet for you. We are all here to give tips. All games in the DnD section have a Questions and Answers form, and all DM's are fine getting PM's where their game is concerned. Just don't worry we are all here to help.

Let me be another of the Inn’s Staff member’s to welcome you to our site. As you hopefully have already seen there’s a lot to do here for sure so take your time and get comfortable with our site. There are a wide variety of AD&D rules sets in use here, even at one time a game run on the very first rules edition.. Basic .. Along with a number of varying game systems from Fantasy to the Sci-fi to the occult to plain horror there is always something for someone including even Free Form games here at the Inn.

The Inn has been around quite some time and for a great majority of us is a second home so please treat the Inn, its Staff and all it’s members with respect and we will treat you the same.

So again welcome its always nice to have new people come to us and I hope you’ll feel quite at home here.
And though this is the greeting I post to all newcomers do not feel that I am not glad to see a new person come to our home, far from it. Its just easier and quicker this way as we do get a lot of newcomers at times. So then If you have any questions about the site feel free to PM myself or any other Staff member as needed.

Also keep that towel handy as Eol sometimes forgets who he has licked and then licks again ...............

Eol doesn't forget... but he does sometimes reboot and, as a result, the facelick routines have to cycle through again.

Well I have been reading some stories, rule based and freeform. This is all a lot to take and it will probably be awhile before I join anything. Have to get my feet wet at some time.

Though I might post in the Creativity Forum while I wait. Maybe a little solo RP I was doing on a live chat RP site. Look for part one to begin soon. If your interested!

I have to admit Admiral it IS a bit more fun to hand Newbies a towel without much explanation now!

Actually Mysterion we have been blessed with a bumper crop of Newbies over the past 2 or 3 weeks after a veritable drought of them during the holidays. I guess we just pride ourselves on being one of the warmer and fuzzier corners of the Interwebz powered more by lolcats than trolls.
