My character is still in the works, but the idea is this. Marius Thulmann (yeah yeah the name's a ripoff) is a hunter, but his prey is not four legged or flying. (at least not usually) Marius hunts beings of chaos and evil.

Closer description similar to Ark's will come later, but I'll just mention a couple things: Marius is a human fighter who considers honor a great thing, but also something that has no place on a battlefield. He's from Sendria where even for a man of noble blood needs to know how to survive.

So anything evil doing harm to normal people can be his target, but he does tend to leave beast like goblins or ogres to other people. Marius prefers to hunt truly malicious beings like e undead or the witches!

Just a little something. More to come later.

*fades in*

I've been waiting for a game that looks like it has staying power, and i fervently hope this is it.

I formally request a spot on the roster, and wonder as to your feelings on the shadowdancer prestige class? I have yet to have a DM allow it, and am anxious to try it. If not, I'll work on something different, of course. I just wish to play.

Interested as well

Though your recruitment looks full, I'll put together a character to wait in the wings should space open up.

Current character ideas include:

A Ranger / Scout mix (maybe with Dervish)... he'd be similar to Raven's character above in the sense that he has a particular hatred towards undead. Probably a two-weapon warrior.

A Swashbuckler 3 / Fighter 2 / Dervish 4... a noble rake with flair, always looking for adventure and ladies. Definitely a two-weapon warrior.

A Warlock / Magic-user (Either Enchanter or Beguiler) mix (likely using Eldritch Theurge)... a fey-kissed gal looking to protect the innocent

A straight up Beguiler... a circus performer turned adventurer, all about showmanship.

A straight up Monk using Vow of Poverty (from Book of Exalted Deeds)... discipled, focused, lawful good human or half-orc looking to find redemption.

A barbarian from a tribe that venerates some kind of large cat (Tiger, Lion or Jaguar), not sure of the class mix (Barbarian / Ranger / Scout mix maybe)... Half-Ogre race (from Races of Destiny) or Goliath race (from Races of Stone) if allowed, in order to qualify for the Knockback feat.

Not sure if anyone is creating a ranged blaster type character yet... if not, I'd consider filled the role with either a Sorcerer (blaster-focused mage from Coria), Warlock (Eldritch blast focused halfling), Warlock/ Scout (same as warlock but with skirmish), Ranger/ Scout (lots of arrows with skirmish damage... still a undead hunter) or Dragon Shaman (breath weapon) character.

Just a few thoughts... if others find any of these usefully, please feel free to use them.

More people

Hey Chessic and Ayrn,

I'd love to have you, but other people reacted sooner than you guys did, so I'm going to have to put you on the reserve list.

I do know out of experience though that most games which have freshly started lose a lot of players. So keep your character ready in case somebody drops. You'll be the first to get notice.

Q/A

The Q/A for this game will be up in a few days, when I've received most of the character sheets. For now, I'm giving you all the banner for this game:

Yup

I too have finally finished the character sheet and sent it to Almerin for reviewing. The introduction of Marius will come a little later.

Character

I'm doing up my character sheet now, but do to work and such, plus a desire to have a well thought out character, I'll be sending in character description later this week.

So excited! Love that banner, Almerin!

Equipment

I understand that we are only allowed to purchase 3 magical items for our gear, but I have to ask...are wands part of the resriction?

magical items

Yes, 3 is the limit for everything: wands, staffs, wondrous items... even potions.

This because you're all from the world of Audalis, where magic is not quite common, and magical items are rare or very rare.

So... on the topic of magical items

If you have a weapon that has a weapon bonus but no enchantment/special ability, is it still considered magical?

yes

A weapon that has a +1 bonus is magical, a piece of armor as well, even if no other magical abilities are present.
So a Flaming Longsword +3 is magical, but a Longsword +1 as well.
