I saw a post mentioning a bunch of apps which didn't mention this which is coming out at the end of the month. They were mostly utilitarian in nature so ....I wanted to know if it was yet unheard of...or maybe automated versions of d and d aren't as loved? It is actually a slightly improved(but mostly the same supposedly) a port of an old pc game based on the THACO system. All kinds of gaming types are super excited about it. It's multi platform,you can get it on new pcs as well as portable devices! I never played the old one but I am excited to try it!

You're referring to the Enhanced Edition I take it?

Haven't really paid attention to it, as I still have the original set of discs for Baldur's Gate. Works like a charm too.

I love the game, and tend to fall back on it when I crave a good rpg (usually at such a time where I don't remember every exact detail, and playing a class differently than before).

That being said, it may be nice to see it all dolled up; see how Overhaul does.

I ended up dusting it off from my shelves about five months ago, and the DVD (yes, DVD edition ) is still in my PC.

Just had a look. Call me a sceptic, but it looks like a port of the game to the engine used by Baldur's Gate 2. Not that that's a bad thing, it's just that a LOT of mods already did it, and very well too.

Yes...enhanced edition...supposedly has new characters and stuff.

Did you look at Baldursgate.com? It has all the new info and a forum section of details. Either way I've never known anything about mods so it'll be good for me. Sad I never got my hands on the original discs.

I'm tempted. Then again I probably don't have the time to play it through again. And I'm waiting more for Project Eternity to arrive, but that is of course a very looooong wait.

I will definitely give this a go. I played the original games, but never did get to finish Throne of Bhaal (my PC at the time had a melt down).

Of course nowadays I only have a Mac, so I guess I'll have to wait and wait...
