So, I am working on a project professionally, and they want a chat room of an unspecified system.

I have grown as a programer since I wrote the RDI chat system. I was thinking that I'll write a new chat room for this project, then port it over to RDI.

The big improvement, of course, would be the lack of flicker/refresh.

Is this something people still care about?

Of course we care! Any improvement to the chat would be great.

Im telling you we still require an addition that allows me to sell ice cream through the chat.

Never really used the chat, but if there will be ice cream I say go for it!!

This is the ONLY chat room I ever use so it's the best. Any thing new will be great.

Can't wait to see it. I am one of the few what has trouble with it, and i think it might be the flicker whats messin with me. I dunno, cuz I use IRC on several games.

Even though this thread is quite old.... I do have a suggestion to help improve the chat...

Or at least it was a suggestion made to me...

On another site that I frequent I brought up the issue of the flickering chat here. This other site used a third party chat provider while they were getting their new chat up and running. And that free third party chatroom would likely work well for the Inn as well.
