CWWLLO reborn?

I am thinking of starting another D&D game on the inn. Something along the line of my old CWWLLO thread, this would involve high fantasy, low realism, lots of magic, big name monsters and heroes who can take it.

The game would involve 15th level characters (2nd edition rules) who have prospered as adventurers but have since retired, gone into politics or created their own keep/school/grove/temple etc etc. Something evil this way comes and you are called to help.

Before I start looking at this and spending a lot of time developing it, I want to see if anyone is interested.

So at least 5 high level characters in a Greyhawk setting. I can help anyone who is not familiar with the rules as I do most of the rolling anyway. Adventure will start very quickly, very little lead in. Characters must be good, or good oriented neutrals. No displacement magic, no permanent invisibility, no gnomes and no half dragons. Multi-class will have the same level limit so 7/8 or 5/10. One post a week, and they do not need to be novellas.

Anyone interested?

Too Bad..........

I have a pretty BA Breach Gnome from one of my table top games. But I know your house rules so Stonier DeBoliva will stay at home.

If this is high level game with high level badies then the group needs a HIGH level healer, or two. Maybe one that can stay out of way, like a Halfling.

Had not planned joining another game

But a chance to once again game with Olan and Eol in a Alacrity run high lvl game is too good to pass up count me in if you'll have me.

Y not just restart the old CWWLLO? Olan, Eol and I already have established characters and any new players could then create their own.

I want to run this one with the higher level format. You are welcome to use the CWWLLO characters and advance them.

Believe it or not....

...I'm kind of thinking about an elven fighter/mage, right off the top of my head.

Roger - any objections to me whipping up something using the War Wizard kit from The Complete book of Elves?

I may do that

Yeah Maximus at lvl 15 could be fun Can we still keep the same magic items as we currently have and do we get to add more?

Also Eol whatever happened to that pic of our CWWLLO characters you were working on I think? I'd love to have a copy.

I might have...

...given that to Olan, actually. *ponders* Or maybe I just gave him the Star Wars stuff... hmmmm.... I'll have to check. I know I've got a digital copy somewhere... I'll see if I can at least dig that up for ya.

If You'll Have Me...........

Lunch is over so I'll get back to this tonight.

If you'll let this old Werebear in I might even bring the barbarian cleric "Odyson Bruin". Would you allow a shape changer? My table top character is a werebear, but it is more as a blessing from the "Earth Mother" as her guardians were bears.

Well now...

This does sound mighty interesting. I could definitely take on one more game. Don't know greyhawk, but 2e is great - rather fond of those limitations. I lean towards wizards or priests, or something of the like. How do you feel about drow?

Oh Oh

Now you've gone and done it Roger............. I've decided to return to my old avatar pic............ Bad Al Bad

Well Eol I'd like that many fond memories of CWWLLO still and me as a plain old fighter too . I think CWWLLO was the only game on the Inn I ever played a straight classed fighter with a kit.

Nimu bring a Sirene type character into this game she be a great asset here.

Actually...

...I've got a mage that I put together for Olan's last D&D game that had some pretty great potential but not much play time... Maybe I'll just level him up (and/or tweak the background a bit to fit this particular campaign world) and see how he works.

Sooo... give me a little bit and I'll throw Jarenion Mithesonel's hat in the ring as the party's potential mana-slinger.

Here's the original description as I had him worked up for Audalis... a few changes and I believe he might work.

Jarenion Mithésonel
Physical Description: Being Sylvari, Jarenion stands at a fairly diminutive 5' 5" tall and weighs a rather sleight 105 lbs. Despite his small stature, however, the young Syl cuts an imposing if not intimidating figure owed to his confidence and determination. He wears his long black hair in a loose and, in truth, somewhat unkempt fashion, his eyes (a violet shade common to his blood line), much like the points of his leaf-shaped ears, are seldom seen as they are often hidden by the spill of his hair and the wide brim of the dark leather hat that he rarely removes. He is most often seen wearing a knee-length, charcoal grey coat, blousy black trousers, and soft charcoal grey boots in lieu of the standard robes of a mage. His only visible weapons are a rune-carved staff of dark wood that is seldom far from hand and a small knife that hangs amidst a cluster of pouches from the belt around his waist… what items may be in those pouches or, for that matter, in the dark leather satchel slung from his shoulder are beyond imagining as he guards their contents jealously.

Background: Jarenion Mithesonel is a relatively young Sylvari ( around 118 years or so), hailing from the town of Hith Elee in Alloryen. His father, Taniian, died nobly in service to the Order of the Secret Storm and, as such, his mother, Minluina, encouraged him practically from birth to follow in his father's footsteps to honor Taniian's memory and the "family tradition." Thus, Jarenion's life has been steeped in magic (and very little else) from very early on. His studious nature has made him quite proficient in the wielding of the arcane arts and, more recently, gained him admittance as his father's legacy into the Order of the Secret Storm.

Jarenion also has a younger sister, Calteliel, who, in the not too distant past, left Hith Elee for Megilindar Nost in Maelamin to pursue a life as a Bladesinger. The last Jarenion heard from his sister was that she had reached Tinechur, wasn’t far from Bladesingers Keep, and would contact him again when she reached the Keep and let him know that she had arrived safely and had been accepted among the Bladesingers. Jarenion has yet to receive that communique, though, and has begun to wonder as to his sister’s fate.

Personality: Jarenion might easily be mistaken as being arrogant by those who haven’t taken the time (or had the patience) to get to know him beyond appearances and first impressions. He is rather aloof and supremely confident in his abilities, though, tending to be a bit of an intimidator when it comes to wielding the arcane energies he’s spent his life mastering and, often, prefers to take his spells into combat alongside sword-and-armor fighters rather than simply providing them support from a distance as he has seen many other mages do. Despite his standoffish nature and lack of a ready smile for most of civilization, those who have travelled with and/or befriended the mage know that a warm smile and pleasant conversation can be evoked from Jarenion on occasion… if you can pull his attentions from his spellcraft for that long.
