can anybody tell me why the newest Resident Evil movie is called Extinction?

well
it's because pretty much every human on the planet has died or turned into a zombie. So extinsion is near.

just thought it was misleading to title it "extinction"
tends to make it sound like it's the end for one side or the other.

They should rename it Resident Evil - Almost Extinction or Quasi-Extinction or Extinction but not really or even Extinction, Not or
