Topic: who's your favorite charicter that you made and played?
Subject: hmmm

Well, my namesake character Vesper Korugann was a fire sorcerer, and I like the concept so I tried to do a wizard of the same thing, which ended up being pretty fun.

He worshipped a fire goddess of chaos that we drew up for that exact purpose. Well, he ended up dying when he though he was invulnerable against fire when we were going up against an ancient red wyrm. Well, needles to say with its breath weapon and arsenal of spells, he was reduced to a pile of ashes, quite fun to play and wouldn't at all mind bringing back a second version of him.

Alyssia once again found herself striding through the dim corridors of the Khord Kingdom, working her way to the next destination in the quest she called life. It was this very thing that she found stimulatin, the very thought of going off into the unknown. With no idea of what was next in her life’s journey, this road that Lysora had set her upon. Light suffused her and glowed in a small distance around her and aided in her need for a sight that allowed her to see in this forsaken darkness. The dimly lit caverns were not the best place for a human. It was something that she would need to grow used to quite quickly if they spent much more time in them.

The mansion that stood before them was one of great majesty, a monument to the Khordal architecture. It was a thing that amazed as it stood there in the dim light, surrounded in a kind of shadowing effect that made it seem bigger than it probably was. Her small group was shown inside, they being eager to get this meeting over with. Inside there was an elf, most likely another guest, but there was still no Khord to greet them. Alyssia wondered where he could be at.

OOC: as above, I just thought it was gonna move along

IC: Alyssia returned Tobin's smile with a warm one of her own. Draven's very actions toward made it certain that she was not wanted at the moment. Yet, she could just not leave him be. It would take some time, but the young woman was certain the the dark man would warm up to her. After all, a pretty woman usually was able to get to the center of a man's heart and she was most certainly not an ugly specimen of the female gender. Maybe, just maybe, he had the outlook of a hermit, not really ever wanting any company at all.

Still, Alyssia was convinced that Lysora had sent her on this path to help her fairly new companion escaped the darkness that was his soul. She would eventually find a way to heal the man's heart, even if it did take the rest of her lifetime. Patience was something that she had in a significant abundance.

"Alright Tobin," she said to the cidal, "let us go and find ourselves another table. I am informing you now though, I have no money for drink."

With that she gave the little man a wink and laughed quietly.

OOC: just noticed something and didn't think of it before; I do have nimbus of light but I don't think it would be a good idear anyways. I don't think that I want these fellers to know that I am a complete goody-tooshoo cause then we might just have some real trouble on our hands.

“Can I help you?” the voice asked him. He turned an about face and stared into the eyes of the seductive AI program. Her voice was like a symphonic orchestra, beautiful, melodic and sweet. Whoever designed this program definitely knew what they were doing. Her bent over form revealed the cleavage that he had so noticed earlier, making his heart race slightly faster. Jazzer was always better able to associate with net entities more so than women in real life.

“Umm....uhhh....yeah,” he replied as he raised his gaze to the green dots that were supposed to be her pupils. He had not expected for his invisiblity to be pierced by the AI, it having had worked all night. “Is there any way that I could perhaps check the mail of one Merideth Ackerman. Her father has hired to help in the case of her disappearance. I am a private investigator and not a cop, so I have no credentials to show you.”

He tried to keep his voice steady and attempted to persuade the AI that he was for real here.

Alyssia began to become slightly aggravated that she could not see properly in this place and recalled one of the things that Lysora had taught her. It would permeate even the greatest darkness and allow her to see. She began to form the pathways of the magic, twisting with her power of will into the form that she desired, that which would grant her the magical sight.

“Lysora,” she whispered in the celestial tongue, “I call upon you to grant me the vision that will pierce this darkness. I call upon you in my time of need.”

Everything became more clearer, at least more so than it was before. Although her sight had no color with it, she made do well enough. One did not complain about what the god’s gave them, and she had long ago submitted to her goddess’s will. She had not known where the path would lead her at the time, but she did not question where it was her goddess sent her. And now, she would accompany Draven until she was able to heal the wounds in his heart, the darkness that she felt within the man. He was not evil, that much she knew, but she knew that much weighed down upon his soul, keeping him from being the servant of light that he could become.

“So Draven,” Alyssia spoke when they took their seats (wherever they may be), “tell more or yourself. If you would of course.”

(was wanting to go off of Draven's lead, but here it is. Casted darkvision, 2nd lvl spell. It is good for 5 hrs.)

Alyssia looked towards the khord that had spoken to her and took a summary glance of him, “Have no fear. I may feel Lysora less in this place where your gods rule, but I know that she still watches over. Besides, he is my one companion that has remained with me on our journeys.”

The khord’s fears may be justified, that much she knew. No decent person would attack a healer, but she wasn’t necessarily going into a section of the khordish city that full of the honorable natives. This place was home to more than khords alone.

(OOC: The only way draven can keep me from following is losing my tailing him.)

It was something different for her, being in a community of Khords. Their attitude was more gruff and hardy that what she was used to, being more serious in their lives. Plus, having men outnumber women several to one was something else she noticed, much different indeed. Most that she came across seemed nice enough and gave her nods or waves of greeting as she passed. Lysora herself seemed more distant here in this place as the Khord deities held more power and ruled in this domain.

Draven asked almost immediately for the nearest pub and got a direct answer; it was one of the Khords’ favorite things to do, drink. It was amusing watching the dark man swagger around in his air of what seemed to her almost like pride and arrogance. Maybe he had the right to be so, she had yet to get a good measure of his abilities. It was this mysterious about him that attracted her to him, made her want to know more. It was almost a kind of greed, but at it was not the kind of greed that made her want to possess what was rightfully his, that knowledge that only he knew.

A nod of her head was all that Alyssia gave to the guard in passing in her peasant garments with her staff’s butt tapping on the stone of the fortress of a cave. Draven made no move to hide from her as she moved to follow him.

“Mind if I accompany you?” the sorceress asked of her companion.

As Jazzer stepped into the virtual post office, his gaze first went to the clerk behind the desk. He took a couple of precious moments to admire the handiwork of whoever it had been to do this particular AI icon. Now just if I could get a chick like that in the real world. It had been some time since he had a lady friend for the evening.

Taking his attention to the post office boxes, he looked them over to see if he could find the one that belonged to Merideth.

(If I find the one I am looking for, then I will try and use a jackhammer on it if it won’t draw attention to me.)

Alyssia had seen it as Loda had taken another set of spikes from the monster and felt a bitterness at her companion's pain, even though it was more than deserved in her opinion. With a gentle hand, the servant of Lysora swiftly pulled free a spike that had been imbedded and put a hand to the wound. It was a sense of euphoria flooded through the sorceress as Alyssia reached towards the power that was part of her in a manner that few if any others would ever experience. It was a sense of kindness and mercy mixed in with a sense of righteous holiness that few ever felt. Here in this moment, there was nothing she could think of that would be more pleasurable in the world.

The feeling passed through her hands and into the druid that now stood before her and through her tough-as-bark skin. Flesh reknitted itself slightly with the magic's passing. Although the spell had healed her to where she was before, it should have done more. She could feel her mistress's disapproval at the druid's actions, keeping it from doing the rest.

"Troshba! I with to renegotiate with you!" Lodin yelled out, surprising Alyssia with his response now that the battle had been set in motion, if only for a mere couple of minutes.

Loda pulled a vial from a pouch as Alyssia released her hold upon the her. Flesh finished reknitting and leaving no scar as if there had been no wound at all. Alyssia caught her companion's look of gratitude even though the spell had not done its job to its full capbility.

With a gesturing of her hands, the sorceress whispered beneath her breath, "Lysora watch over and protect me. Keep me from the harm of the foe that stands before me now."

A slight smile crept across her lips as she felt her goddess's power wrap her in a barrier of protective energy. The sorceress halted any further advancement upon the beast that had called herself Troshba. She may be willing to renegotiate, but Alyssia was not too sure about the parties involved.

(Oh, and I still have plenty of healing remaining. But, of course, the others may not know it.)

Seeing her spell strike true and knowing that her goddess had not yet left her, Alyssia moved to make her way over to the druid Loda. The woman's wounds looked to have healed a small bit but were still quite severe. Although Troshba was still flying around, another attack from the beast like before and her companion could be dead. She needed her wounds healed before it did happen once more.

(alright, gonna go over and cast cure moderate wounds on Loda)

Jazzer was estatic at how easily it had actually been to rummage through the university’s database. Security was very evidently lacking once one had passed through those on the outside. Amateurs is what they were, those that were still learning the trade when he had become a pro at it. A p.o. box, interesting. If she had a p.o. box, then the post office should have a physical address for it. Backing out of the university’s system in the same manner that he had gotten in, Jazzer began to make his way down to the post office.

(Assuming the post office does indeed have an accessible system.)

It was a sad thing indeed when one could not resolve their problems with a few words instead of resorting to violence, but she was every bit capable of doing just that when she must. A small tear glistened in the corner of her left eye as the beast known simply as Troshba leapt at her companion. She felt sadness for the anger that the beast felt and an even deeper sadness that her druid companion could not simply see that all this beast wanted was a meal. It would have been the cow's fate in the end. All things must die sooner or later, and cattle generally sooner for food than later. It was just the way of things.

"Dear Lysora, please forgive me for what I am about to do and forgive my companion for his brashness."

Alyssia's voice became softer, like that of an angelic chorus as she spoke the words to her magic. The words were in the celestial tongue, her magic being of a holy origin. A faint, white glow surrounded her hands and fingertips as she formed the gestures to her spell. It took only mere moments, but it seemed like a near lifetime as time slowed down to what nearly seemed like a halt. Three missiles of white energy shot forth from her fingertips to race towards Troshba. Alyssia regretted that this must be done, but she would not forsake those that she had been guided to join.

Forgive me. She could hear the words echo in her mind.

There were tons of files here, more than he could get through in any reasonable amount of time, and Jazzer knew it. He did not like asking the assistance of others and figured that he could find some pattern to the informational storage systems here. Knowing that he would not be getting any younger, the mogwai began scanning the informational systems in order to find its pattern and locate his target.

"Well, why can't they just have an autofinder? That would sure be the treat," he whispered to himself before muffling a silent chuckle.

(hopefully it is in some kind of alphabetical order or something and I can find Merideth with no problem, but if it is in no order at all then I will just have to ask for help from one of the assistants)

She was growing more frustated by the moment. The druid demanded that this sentient being was not a thing of nature but rather a montstrous, twisted version of it and then Draven comes from where ever he had been, which was truly anyone's guess. Now, she had two of her companions against her. This was not going for her at all.

"Fine! If no other person is willing to take the trek down this blasted hill and back up, then I will do it by myself. I just need a few coins and then I will be off. I most certainly have none of my own as I gave them to those that have more need of them."

She was certain that this may serve to just more enmity between her and her companions, but she would not needlessly spill blood.

" Why should we believe that you will let us go, and that you will not try an devour us just as we have the poor cow. It makes perfect sense that something like you would try that, tricking people and creatures in doing what you want them to do."

Loda thought for brief moment, a wry smile spreading across her lips, and looked back up to the waiting creature.

" And why do you wait for the cow? Why dont you try an eat us? I think youre afraid of us, and that we could walk right through here without you even moving, besides, what good mother would throw themselves into danger while she has children to tend to. Unless of course, you are one of those mothers who doesnt care about their children. If you arent, then I think you should just let us walk through here anyways, and no one, not even the poor cow you wanted, will be harmed. "

Her plan was falling apart. Alyssia dispised vilence but knew that it was sometimes necessary, but one could at times find a more peaceful resolution.

"That is enough, Loda," Alyssia reached out to her companion with a calmness in her voice, "we are not here to do violence. Besides, as a druid, you should be seeking a balance. In nature, there are predators such as this that must eat, even if it is not to your liking. Now, a peaceful resolution has been given us, so let us see if we can find the owner of those cows that we had seen and ask to purchase one."

Alyssia glanced to her companions in order to try and gauge their expressions. She truly did hope that no blood would be shed this day, except for, perhaps, the cow's.

2. loads of funyuns (the oniony type chip, nope)
3. black light (nope)
4. something to get high with (nope)
5. we're all still virgins (just like the rest of the world on this one guys and gals)

Hmmm, decisions, decisions, decisions. Several of them now lay before him. Although there were still the dogs about, they didn’t frighten him anymore, seeing as how his invisibility was strong enough to get him past the first set without much problem. But he also knew what inevitably happened to runners that got too cocky and threw caution to the wind. No, he would still pay close attention to the dogs, just to be on the safe side.

Jazzer’s mogwai paced the length of the hall to get a clear picture of what each door said on its face. He stopped in front of the one the said admissions on the way back down the virtual hall. He figured that it would likely be his best bet, so he reached and twisted the handle. He was getting deeper into the college’s mainframe and knew it. He hoped it would let him in without any difficulty.

She could only be thankful as Mac calmed down and decided not to blame her for the commander's orders. A slight smile of relief even crossed her face as she relaxed with Mac's cooling down. Tuvar looked at Mac queerly as he picked up a vase of flowers, staring at it intently. He even smiled while he held the vase in both hands, so unlike the hard shelled Mac that she knew.

“So,” he smirked, returning the vase to the exact spot it had occupied a moment before, and looking back to his SEC counterpart, “within an arm’s reach, is it? Tha’s gonna be bloody uncomfortable when et comes ta usin’ th’ head, innit? An’ I reckon yer gonna hafta scrap wi’ Chantelle if ye wan’ th’ right side o’ th’ bed.”

A laugh escaped from her lips at the thought of constantly staying within an arm's reach of the Chief TAC. It could prove to be an entertaining, enlightening experience on the man, but she would gratefull decline. She was sure that her cheeks even turned a slight shade of crimson at the though of it all.

"Well...." she fidgeted to get the words out, "...the whole staying within an arm's reach was just a figure of speech. And I will have to get some sleep myself, even if I don't need as much as you do. I'll just have to post a couple of sec crewman outside your door when I do go off to bed."

He swallowed another mouthful of coffee; “I’ve prob’ly no’ go’ th’ right ta know, lass, but wha’ exactly are ye s’posed ta be watchin’ me fer? Saftey o’ the ship er ‘fer my own good’?”

Now this truly indeedy was a touchy question. If she said just one wrong word, then she could possibly anger the chief Tac and he would have every right to be. Tuvar now understood why diplomats had so many problems keeping the peace between everyone, and she was sure that she would not be so good at that sort of work.

"The commander did not know exactly what to expect, so he instructed me to keep an eye out for anything that seemed out of place."

The thoughts started running through her head, and she immediately thought of a way that they could relieve the tension of the situation, "Hey, Mac, would you be interested in some holodeck time? You are off duty for the rest of the day, and it does take two senior officers to disable the safety protocauls on these galaxy class vessels. It could prove to be some fun."

(got the two senior officer thing from a TNG episode, where data wanted Laforge to help him disable the safety protocauls so that he could test out a theory towards his emotions.)

Three days of uneventfulness was leaving Alyssia bored as she traveled with the rest of her companions along the pathways throughout the mountain passes. The sorceress had not paid much attention to where she was going until her companions came to a stop in front of her, causing her to bump into the back of one, she wasn't quite sure which as she took a couple steps back. Alyssia looked up and saw the beast that now stood in front of her and her companions. It was something that she did not recognize from her travels.

As the beast stated its hostile intentions, Alyssia could only shake her head in sorrow. Why must it wish to do such violence. "What is it that you wish, good Troshba?"

Alyssia would think it much better if they could get past this beast without any need for violence. Just if they coud find out what it was that it wanted.

(Will use diplomacy [at a +10] to try and get past it peacefully if no one decides to provoke it to attack. If it does attack, she will have no choice but to defend her companions.)

(post worked up between Eol and myself)

"Hey Mac," Tuvar said turning to face him as he strode up the corridor from the lift and found the Chief of Security leaning on the bulkhead outside his quarters.

It wasn't odd for Tuvar to stop by every now and again, the two of them sparred on a semi-regular basis and, of course, worked together on the Tactical and Security concerns of Discovery on a daily basis... What was odd was that she had addressed him as Mac, and was carrying a phaser. The sight of her so armed - even if it wasn't unusual for the woman to carry a phaser - and using that nickname had almost stopped the Scot in his tracks.

"Tuvar," he nodded, looking past her and then over his shoulder as if to ensure that a couple of her security guards hadn't accompanied her here to throw him in the brig; "Ye caught me b'surprise, lass. Somethin' I c'n do fer ye?"

"Well," the words came to her lips, "It has been some time since I have gone over the tactical rim of a Galaxy class, and I was hoping that you could help re-familiarize me with it. Although I am not TAC myself, I just thought that it wouldn't hurt."

Tuvar hoped that her apprehension did not show, trying to put into its place a feeling of beleivable calm.

The Rim? Really? Jack spiked a brow at the request and found it somehow strange, especially given the current goings on... Ach! As wonky's thengs've been 'round here, I dinnae s'pose et's all tha' oot o' sorts. Prob'ly some kinda contingecy plan ta keep me off th' bridge if et comes ta tha'. "I reckon I could give ye th' five credit tour, lass," he said, flashing her a crooked grin as he stepped passed her and cued the door to his quarters. "Me monkey-boys decided tha' I need th' day off, though, so we'll 'ave ta make due onna holodeck, if tha's a'right."

An' after I give Tuvar th' rundoon onna TAC Rim, I'll jus' have Chan meet me onna holodeck...

"Ye mind if I get a shave fairst, though," he asked, gesturing for Tuvar to make herself at home, "Had a bloody hell o' a marnin' an' fergot ta scrape me fargin' whiskers off."

"Go ahead and get your shave, and I'll wait for you here," the reply came from her lips smoothly but all the while her mind was jumbled in a way that she could hardly make sense out of it all.

Mac nodded faintly and then disappeared into the small bathroom that separated the living quarters from his bedroom. Somethin’s no’ right aboot all o’ this, Jackie-boy, he mused as he peeled off his tunic and retrieved his razor from a small shelf, Tuvar runs a tight crew an’ I’m sure she’s go’ all ‘er bases covered but, even so, why inna hell would she choose now o’ all times ta get a refresher onna TAC stand?

He checked his reflection in the mirror before touching the blade of the razor to his cheek. Gads but ye do look like ten kilometers o’ shyte, MacTavish, he almost laughed, ye best get ta pullin’ yerself tagether! As he drew the razor down the length of his jawline his eyes ticked briefly towards the living area as he once again considered Tuvar’s real reason for being here… especially now. Sure, the woman probably had actually stood post at the Primary Tactical Station in quite a while but there were only a few shifts he could remember in the past few months that Tuvar hadn’t been standing just to his left at the Security console. As observant as the half-vulcan was, Mac was almost sure that she didn’t actually need the lessons she had requested… Hell, she’d be jus’s quick as Jeffrey ta hop onna Primary ef I was’nae standin’ there, an’ prob’ly be jus’s keen onna controls.

“So, Tuvar,” he called as he tapped the razor on the edge of the sink and decided that the best way to get the real scuttlebutt from the Security Chief was to simply ask… after all, he’d been forthcoming with her about Ian, hadn’t he?... “Wha’s this really aboot, lass? Ye need a tour o’ th’ Rim aboot’s much’s I need someone ta show me how ta break doon a Type II…”

Well, she hadn't been ordered to not tell, just not to raise his suspicions, which is what she had already done. Now that her orders were broke, she might as well tell him the full truth.

"Alright," Tuvar came out, "but let command know that I am the one who told you. I am not asking you to lie to them, just not tell them. Commander Gavison asked me to accompany you, anywhere, everywhere. So until he orders otherwise, or the Captain, then I'll not be more than an arm's length from you at any one time. Is that clear, Mac?"

She couldn't help but feel that she had betrayed her commanding officer's trust, the look of guilt awash on her face.

Jazzer’s mogwai stood where he could view the security guards and squatted down on its heels while pondering what his next action would be. Patience was something that he could probably have plenty of if need be, but he was being paid to find out information and he would not find it by just standing around here. He would have to be good to get by both of the watchdogs, and he could not be too sure if those guards were programs or other netrunners. Caution and luck would be something that he would need plenty of.

Pulling up the menu, he selected the Run Program option and selected his invisiblity program. Jazzer felt the sheet of flickering, iridescent sheet drape over him. He hoped that this worked and started to stride forward. If he was successful, then he would find the information on thsi Merideth that he was looking for.
