Oh dear... you all are going to kill each other!

Less work for me I guess!

Oh... just to let everyone know. I have only done a cursory look at the actual details of your character sheets for the moment. I will be going back over them with a fine comb here soon and will post up my critiques at the bottom. I'll make sure to shoot you a PM when I do yours just to let you know to take a look at it.

I hope to also go over your game posts and send out suggestions.

This is a discussion class too, if you notice something from your fellow students that you think might be a bit unpolished somehow send me a PM and let me know. For right now I would prefer you keep the comments to PM if they are a critique (for encouragement please cover this thread with good words!) just because I would rather people not get hurt feelings and get upset (or if they do I would rather them get mad at me ).

dunno

More than likely Zeph will just avoid this particular Elf for the time being, wouldn't want to jeopardize his place in this school just yet after all.

A few questions, if I decide the brutal lifestyle this poor goblin grew up in has left him more or less physically handicapped (for lack of a better word), would that impose skill penalties? For instance, if he lost an eye would he have a penalty to checks involving sight? Would missing fingers impose penalties on checks using his thieves' tools? Would a permanent limp impose a penalty to Move Silently, or even lower his speed? I'm tinkering around with a few ideas as to how damaged he actually is, both physically and mentally.

Logically... yes...

Such handicaps would involve a penalty.

The severity of the handicap would dictate the level of the penalty.

ok

So let's say 2 missing fingers on his left hand (right handed though) and a minor but permanent limp due to his legs being broken repeatedly. What sort of penalties are we looking at there?

I forgot to mention something about my character's backstory should i just add it on right now to the character sheets page?

Go ahead...

and PM it to me and I can edit it onto your character sheet instead of giving it it's own post if you don't mind. Trying to keep things organized.

Mr. Conquest

Just posted up on the Coming and Going's forum that he will be out for awhile.

He hadn't yet posted to the game so I will edit my original posts and pull him out for now. If he would like to join up after he makes it back to us I'll work him in at that point.

So where's the students?

Well I was waiting on everyone to at least get their intro posts out of the way before continuing the tour but...YOU GUYS AREN'T POSTING! So far on this tour is me and Shadowborne (who already know the school having been going to it for a couple years) and our newest player (who gets an applaud for posting) If the rest of you want to come along then get your posts in.

waiting

I myself am waiting for more of the tour group to post before posting, so don't feel that you need to wait on me at all.

Hey Tus

Not picking you buddy, however I would like to point out a tip about copying from another post. We all copy from other posts but because your post is in your character's perspective there's usually a few changes that should be observed. For example you copied my thoughts onto your post. Such things should be taken out. Another thing to keep in mind is if you haven't referred to the character that's speaking recently you should change where the original poster put 'he' or 'she' into their character name. For example if the original poster put

"That's ok." he said after a moment's thought.

When copying the speech if this character isn't the last subject to do anything you should change it to

"That's ok." Girted said after a moment's thought.

It makes it easier on us reading to know who's talking.

Just so ya know

I'm working all weekend, so it'll probably be Monday before I can get a good post done, if I can fit time in before then I will though.

Directors Notes:

- First, no problem Sheild will give the rest of us a chance to get to a point where you can join in.

- Second, good job on posting everyone. I will be working up a little post myself tomorrow to keep things moving.

- Third, today I am going to be editing your posts slightly, you'll start to notice green bold text appearing, this will mean you have a grammatical or spelling error in your post. Making sure your posts are ledgible to other players is very IMPORTANT. You might consider this as Meri being nitpicky, but proofreading your posts is imperative. When rereading for simple errors you almost always run into context issues that can be worked on to make your point more clear and hopefully avoid misunderstandings.

- Fourth, this weekend I will also be writing up critiques of your first posts. If you would prefer me to send them via a PM please let me know, otherwise I will post them here so that other people can learn from the suggestions as well.

Races...

Okay the first one is kind of my fault:

Eol is an elf, not a gnome, I mistyped it once in the recruitment thread, I'm fixing it. *le sigh* I take full responsibility for that.

The other one... well that's on you guys:

Drakon is an elf as well, not a goblin. Zeph (played by Shield Wolf) is the goblin, he hasn't joined your little 'tour' yet.

Thanks all!
