Hey again. Well, after the events of the last two days, I have now left the organization. Those in it who could make a difference have chosen not to, and it has fallen to people squabbling and arguing about non-important crap before my friend's body is even in the ground. I want no further part of it, and am honestly rather relieved to be leaving it. One must pick one's battles, and if the battle has no hope of success with the way things currently are, it makes little sense to fight it.
However, I'm not ready to resume gaming just yet. While I have no problems with being out of SFI as it is now, it was still a part of my life for many years, and my Trek fandom is in a weird place right now.
So my thought is, continue as planned to NPC or replace Thorson, and when my head is back in the game, I'll just come along somewhere as a new character.
Thanks for the words of support. I love Star Trek and always have. But when things become more about politics and less about Star Trek, or for that matter less about the passing of a fellow human being, then being a part of such a group becomes nothing but a source of disgust and disappointment.
Besides, one doesn't need a fan club to be a fan.
