For the record...

...the whole OCS thing was really only intended as a passing thought in Tochi's mind in the moment. While I do foresee Megan leaving the enlisted ranks for a commission at some point, I really wasn't trying to set it up as a plot point that would need to be addressed in the immediate future.

Also... last snippet of the post has been added...

With a revelation like that...

An Earth Girl would have likely bolted! Andorian... not so much.

I'll try to have another post up this afternoon. Got a way way way busy day ahead of me.

Heh...

I imagine!

Tochi kind of felt as if he had to lay all his cards on the table, so to speak, given that he'd been more or less "outed" by Tam.

Fixed the initial timestamp on that post, too... Now we're at lunch at 1 in the afternoon as opposed to 1 in the morning.

First post in forever

Post's up, it's pretty introspective, but gives a little insight into how Mathias thinks and goes about his job, life the universe and everything. Makes him seem like less of a gruff silent security guard.

Enjoy.

Also in regards to folks filling in blanks on my behalf while was AWOL, I don't mind at all, I realize Berk is a semi-central character and sometimes he needs to talk, so please don't hesitate to do so should it be necessary.

well done

Nice post, Brennus! I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's fun to "see" how other characters perceive events and people.

To Asovil, Drake is apparently a seething ball of anger; to Berk, he's stony and unapproachable. Of course, neither have been around him long, and as a result, haven't seen other parts of his personality. So their impressions are quite fair, yes?

As for being a semi-central character... that's entirely up to you, sir. As the CTO of a Saber class vessel - and a -P variant, at that - combat and tactics are central to our missions. As such, Berk can expect to be right in the middle of a LOT of the plot. I can say with certainty that he's going to be thrust into the spotlight very soon... I'd rather not have to NPC him.

Heck yeah!!!

Nice to get a peek into Berk's mind. Loved the post!

Aaaaand, I gotta agree with Olan... I certainly wouldn't consider Berk "semi-central," at all. In fact, given the Peregrine's role, I'd say he's downright essential.

Addendum

I guess what I meant by semi-central is that I know there will instances where Berk needs to respond and it might be a bit before I can respond with a full post. If you need to fill in simple response here and there go for it. Following orders is generally his jam.

If you've tagged me in a post if you fire me a DM or email I can probably make a point of taking care of that stuff in a timely manner if I have a reminder.

Brom and Olan

Ok, got a post up. Not much but it's something. Addressed the questions from Lt. Shinola and an inquiry for the Captain.

I'll try to do better next time.

Luv da posts, mon.

All right, so I've updated Asovil's responses and actions. Flirtation, more flirtation, and then some investigation. All courtesy of the letter A and the number 9.

Yup, yup...

...flirtation, more flirtation, and reporting for duty.

Made an assumption in the last bit the Berk was sitting in at command as I imagine Drake was likely in his ready room fuming or something. If otherwise, of course, let me know and I'll edit as appropriate.

Flirtations

Why don't you two just get a cabin already?

I'm hoping the Captain will get back to Chief Cook soon so I will have something worth posting.

Get a cabin... LOL

I already have a call into Engineering about a reconfiguration, donchaknow?

If you and Olan don't mind, I can have Tochi field the call from Cookie. Timeframe of your post matches up with the XO being on the bridge and, I figure, he could easily intercept. Stand by and I'll have something soon.

Well

That's really between the Captain and you; I'm okay either way.

You can always assume it is alright and post it and if it's not; we can modify posts later. As I've always thought, "It's better to ask for forgiveness, than to ask permission."

Right?

Started a post last night but things went sideways around here before I could finish. Just got all my work related "have-to-do's" taken care of, though, and, once I poke some food down my neck hole, I'll get back to writing. Shouldn't be too much longer.
