Boo Boo, I think that your post has an incorrect timeline for Crane's punishment. Let me clarify in case Drake's language was not clear. This punishment covers thirty-one total days.

Days 1-3: brig, bread & water
Days 4-17: confined to quarters save duties. no off days. extra duties.
Days: 18-31: extra duties.

Nice post, boss! Tochi's kind of hoping for a terribly boring and uneventful shift, as well!

Silas is a hardass for sure, but a lot of that has to do with him trying to be the best officer he can be. He's not always a "strictly by the book guy" (see the Tesenblen situation), but most of the time, doing the right thing as the Captain means following the book and expecting that of others.

I see him as a lonely guy prone to the occasional bout of melancholy. This job is all he ever really wanted out of life, but he never expected to be alone forever, either. He doesn't let his guard down easily, and the only woman he was ever serious about died, so Starfleet is his life. He's not prone to opening up, so he has few really deep, meaningful friendships.

Yes I did miss state the punishment, even though I understood the details of the punishment. My bad, I will correct it later. I blame the error on the pain killers.

I'd never considered a career as a romance novelist, but after writing the Tochi/Asovil arch, I think I could pull off a Murtaugh from Lethal Weapon and write a scintillating series.

There were plenty of sexual undertones to Trek, and many, many episodes devoted to the theme outright.
