coolness

Well, being Dutch myself, I'm wondering what on Earth a Dutch Oven can be. We just use one with gas or electricity.

*Looks it up on google*

Aha! now I see.

well

I know there are many sayings in English/American that include the word Dutch, but that doesn't know I understand where they came from.

I've heard of 'going Dutch', where you split the bill after dinner in a restaurant...

But perhaps we should clog up Al's Q&A with this.

Dutch

I believe a lot of these saying are slangs using by the english during the Anglo Dutch Wars (early 1600's to late 1700) to mock their "enemy". In some parts of the world, pay like a roman means the same as going dutch. I am told that in Netherlands Amerikaans feest has the same meaning - Almerin can testify to whether that is true.

There is also a theory it comes from Dutch doors that are made from two equal parts but I don't find that to be believable.

Dutch Ovens however, are probably the single most versatile kitchen impliment around. Great for stovetop, oven and camping fires.

We'll get back to the story soon....

I first hear about "Dutch Courage" on a show about making Gin.

In 1650 Franciscus Sylvius, a Dutch doctor, created Dutch gin in an attempt create a diuretic medicine. This was then used by soldiers in the Thirty Years' War by English troops and was an instant success for its warming properties on the body in cold weather and its calming effects before battle. Because of the effects of Dutch gin English soldiers fighting in the Dutch Republic in the 17th century apparently called the drink "Dutch Courage".

BTW cast iron cooking "ROCKS".

Back to the story....

Can we tell if the lights down the road are car lights or house lights? If we hear the muted scream we should be close enough to tell. My thought is if it's a car then we head down or toward the road, if a house then away from the road.

Never Mind
Went back and reread it and decided it didn't matter. We were moving up the lane anyway.

Hey boss.......

BTW if no one else claimed the pistols then Doc packed them. He is more comfortable with the hand guns so he'd slip them into a pocket and keep them at the ready.

I gather that Brutal took the shot gun.

I hate to leave weapons behind.

as I have it

Brutal took the shotgun. So Read may take the pistols as no one else wanted them.

Sie können alle schreien möchten Fräulein. In der Tat Ich hoffe, dass Sie das tun, es wird abends noch interessanter. Aber niemand kann dich hören hier.

hehe

That's actually pretty accurate for an online translation.

Usually they translate things into gibberish nonsense.

Well ...

That was not the approach I expected. Will have to think about how the gentlemen inside will react to someone knocking on the door of his secluded "love" shack.

Well played.

Hey Lyra, looky here....................

You know if you squint your eyes all up, that map sort of looks like a dragon's head, .

So I'm guessing that Doc and the Captain are behind the "big tree"?

Well Doc is feeling a bit deflated.
Always being judged that Red Cross he used to wear.

He may have to search this kitchen for some salt to help clean out wounds Sargent Rock and the Psycho Twins might get.

"Here this might sting a little!"

When Reid's gun jams - you'll know why.
