Topic: Light of Conquest
Subject: Light of Conquest

A small group of friends were gathered around a contained crackling fire enjoying the sweet sounds of music floating over the horizon. Discussing their accomplishments of the day; and planning their adventures for tomorrow. They had just graduated from school and they were excited to spread their wings and to explore the world while they decided where they would plant their roots. School would never have been able to prepare the group for what destiny had planned for them.

Deacon glanced up from his drink as he caught her scent. Caramel eyes darted around for his best friend, finally finding her gaze, his breath caught in his broad chest. His heart started racing as she glided gracefully over to him. Long crimson locks countouring her ivory skin pulling his gaze to her stunning almond shaped meadow green eyes. A shy smile found her lips as she lifted two fingers to meet his prominent chin, applying gentle pressure to close his mouth from gaping open.

"Apologies Cora, I have never seen you look so ravishing." As the words left his lips, he gently lifted her hand grazing his lips against her soft skin, placing a gentle kiss on her hand. Offering her the chair beside his, he then sat down beside her whispering to her about his plans for the future. Deacon suddenly turned pale and clenched his teeth, he grabbed Cora's hand in his and pulled her swiftly into the woods nearby. Hissing to the others in a low voice "Put the fire out, they are coming."

Logan rushes to grab the bucket of water they had nearby, dumping it on the blazing fire releasing smoke into the air. His sea blue eyes glazed over as the temperature plummeted to arctic conditions. "Quick, Sage, follow Deacon and Cora" he grabbed their bags and followed his friends into the cover of the forest. A branch slashes across his bicep as he lunged into the heavily wooded area behind the cottage they were staying at while in school.

The Shadows prowled the empty streets in search of their target, as darkness swept across the lands. Creatures scurried into hiding as Shadows approached, hoping to escape their dudgeon. Purple orbs visible beneath their coal black hooded cloaks as they moved with haste to find the person of interest to fulfill their contract. Heavily armed with dual scimitars, they marched towards the fire as they had heard rumours that this is where they would find the person of interest. Low growls emitted from the Shadows as they searched the area the group of humans had just been moments before, crouching to investigate the tracks and scents left behind.

A sudden whistling sound whooshes from the west of the Shadows and glistening in the moonlight as a throwing knife lands where a Shadow stood momens before. Crouching down drawing their dual scimitars the Shadows growl at the pair that have descended from the trees above, quickly realizing what they were facing they fled back into the darkness to retrace their steps the following night.

Celestial blue robes appeared behind Deacon, and Cora, another set behind Sage and Logan to prevent them from fleeing. A soft but firm voice emits from the person behind Sage and Logan "You have done well Deacon, in protecting the heir, you shall be rewarded for your dedication. Your services are no longer adequate to protect her, you may now leave"

A look of confusion flashed between Cora, Safe and Logan as the woman spoke to Deacon as if they were old friends. The trio had never heard the voice before nor had they ever seen this woman. Cora turned to Deacon with a terrified look on her face "Deacon who is this woman and what is she talking about. She must have the wrong person"

Deacon lowered his head closing his eyes tightly as he sent himself off to his memories of his youth where he was sworn to protect Cora, who had been shipped overseas to escape the life she was destined to live. He sighed deeply and turned to look into Cora's meadow green eyes, his eyes soften and his voice lowers putting her hands in his "my dearest Cora, I swear I did not anticipate to ever have to leave your side, and I have sworm to protect you, I refuse to leave your side. I will be with you when you discover the truth." Turning to the women in Celestial blue robes he says "I will continue to honour my word, I will not leave her side, you are welcome to join me in protecting her, but I am not leaving her side Oaklynn."

Cora pulls her hands from his and tears well up in her eyes confused and voice trembling "Deacon, you are scaring me, what are you talking about? Who are these people and who are they talking about? Heir to what? I have known you for my entire life, I don't know any other life, and I have never met these people."

Deacon turns back to his best friend and pulls her close ensuring her head is resting on resting his chin on her head. "You are not who you think you are sweetheart, and I promise you that my feelings are true for you, I will always be the same person, but you have a lot to learn about who you are, and what you stand for. There are a lot of things that will come to light in the coming days, and know that I am here through all of it." Gently kissing her head he turned back to Oaklynn and spoke firmly "we cannot linger here they will not be scared away for long, they will regroup and come back, where shall we go until morning when we can begin our journey?"

Logan and Deacon followed behind Sage and Cora, with Oaklynn in front of the line and her companion trailing behind keeping guard. Sage and Cora whispering between themselves "I am so scared, I have never seen this side of Deacon. Where are we going and what are they talking about. I don't remember any life before this place. Who am I supposed to be"

Logan turns to Deacon "I truly hope you can trust these people, I hope you can also get time to explain what just happened because I thought I knew you, and you never told me anything about another life."

Hey Guys!

Due to the Pandemic I decided to take a chance and started selling Scentsy. Canada and U.S can place orders on my website, if you want to join my team send me a message. I have a goal of reaching Director Status by my 1 year of signing up for Scentsy. In order to do that, I need to grow my team and my sales substantially. Help your Flirt reach her goals. If you don't like the amazing products (unlikely) maybe you know someone else who loves them or who may be interested in joining the biggest growing company ever.

I have very limited access now that we have to home school due to Covid-19. My daughter usually gets pc for first few hours of the day to do her school work, then hubby gets it most of the rest of the day. I am part of two games, but they are slow moving, so only check a couple times a week to see if there are any posts.

The Elf Ranger watched the food appear and noticed the nervousness as if an aura surrounded the dwarf woman. Listening carefully to her words while studying the body language she nodded slowly and cautiously “Yes, we are headed with the Wardens. I will agree to transport the parcel, so long as you guarantee it will not harm anyone.” It was clear the woman was nervous about something, whether the contents of the parcel, or just talking to the strangers itself.

Drawing in a deep breath her hand always resting on the hilt of her weapon still completely aware of her surroundings, as well as the time drawing close to embark on the journey with her new companions. Drusilia waited for the woman to fetch the parcel and added it to the contents of her pack.

“What is your brother’s name and where do you suppose we will find him?” the words fell easily from the Ranger. Quickly refusing the coins from the barmaid as it immediately made her replay her past through her mind. Just as quickly as the scene began unfolding in her mind, she shut it out, it was neither the time nor the place to reminisce about her personal problems. She knew she would need a clear head and focus on the current missions without forgetting about her personal vendetta. Always helping those in need, protecting them from the savages that roamed the world as bullies.

The Elf ate a small portion of the bread and butter, asking for some portions of food for the road, in case they didn’t have enough, or their route got delayed for whatever reason.

“We need to get ready to join the march, before they decide to leave without us. Are you both ready to go? Have everything you will need?”

The elf listened to the murmur around the establishment allowing both to enter the building first. Glancing around once again at the wagon, and the rest of the people lurking in the rain. Once Aphelia and Komantaar were inside, she slipped out of the rain and into the dimly lit building called The Sword & Sheathe Taphouse. Instinctively scanning everyone to recall who was where, and what they wore, as well as the weapons they carried. It was always a safe bet to be prepared to fight at any time, or to be able to talk yourself out of a tight situation. Her years along the road have taught her to be kind to everyone, but to except to be stabbed in the back, so it took a long time for her to build the trust of others.

Having ordered food and drink, she kept her eyes carefully tracking the movements of all the patrons, listening to all the whispers, but focusing on the conversation that included her. The drinks arrived swiftly and the elf smiled thanking their hosts as she heard the words from Aphelia fall upon her, she took in a deep breath. Glancing around once again before offering up a reply as to her twin blades, and constant need to look around and keep track of those around her.

Drusilia nodded the smile disappeared from her face as she recalled the events of her past. "I have been in my share of battles, both before I learned how cruel the world can be, and since then, but now I have embarked on a personal matter that means the world to me. I will not give up my hunt, but have agreed to not stand for others to take life needlessly. The tale is one I hold close to me, but perhaps over time I will share the story of what encouraged me to take up the blades."

Drusilia Galanodel stood tall among the others in the party, wearing an Elven hooded cloak and boots to help keep the rain from soaking through to the bone. Twin blades hung on her hips, her ice blue eyes studying each of the recruits, looking at posture, weapons, and for signs of fear. Fear would end up causing too many issues along the path, possibly causing injury or death to the rest of the recruits. Her ice white hair mostly hidden behind the hood of her cloak, but a few strands fell in front of her face. Leather armor hung around her thin figure, it looked used but well taken care of as she stood proudly in the shadows listening to the sounds around her and searching the wet terrain around her.

The Ranger stood in the shadows, observing quietly making notes of who may need the most help, who to keep distance from, and who carried too many burdens to be of any use. A woman approached her in the shadows, it seemed she was fighting a personal battle like how she herself felt most days. The woman was beautiful and had spoken directly to the Elf and another future comrade standing in the shadows nearby. Her voice was easy on the ears, and easily understood.

“Greetings Aphelia Thorne, I am Drusilia Galanodel, and I would love to eat and drink my fill before we embark on the journey ahead. I anticipate it will not be an easy journey, they rarely are these days.”

With that she turned towards the nearest tavern with her newest companion, her pack on her back always aware of her surroundings. The Elf bowed slightly offering for Aphelia to proceed into the establishment first.

I am very eager to try playing 5e, however I will need a lot of guidance as never played it before. I have an elf ranger character I made, should I send you the sheet? I don't know if it is even filled out properly etc. I truly miss writing. I am new to discord, and never used d20, so will require a lot of help figuring it out.

Subject: Athelia

Athelia spoke her piece ensuring each person present had heard her name, and her intentions with the mission. She knew that some people could not be trusted, and knowing how important trust was for a group to work together efficiently she would give them the benefit of the doubt until they proved untrustworthy. When she finished her introduction, she stepped back into the shadows of the dimly lit room and watched the injured man had stepped forward making his proper introductions. The fighter listened carefully to the words he spoke, as he offered his gratitude, and assistance should anyone require anything. Nodding to the man in greeting, a charming smile flashing across her lips as she then turned to the next person to speak.

The next group member to speak up, and introduce themselves was Geoff of Boyhill, who seemed very talented with the shield he had been painting. The man was serious in his tone, but the pictures on his shield appeared animated and full of energy. Nodding towards the man as he made his introduction she flashed her smile towards this man as well. The fighter did not trust those who dabbled in arcane knowledge, but she would give this mane the same respect and trust as the others, unless he proved otherwise along their journey.

Jacob was the next man to step forward and introduce himself to the party. The man seemed eager to help people, not for their gratitude as it seemed to make him uncomfortable, but out of instinct. He would be their scout and guide along the way, and he admitted he had small knowledge in healing, which would be a good thing to remember should they require it in the future. Athelia nodded and flashed her smile towards the man to acknowledge his introduction.

The next person to join introductions was made by one named Daxos of Clan Turin. The man seemed to have a lot going through his mind, which meant a very intelligent man, but a dangerous man as well. The man was very informative, both in his introductions, and in starting a brainstorm of how we could potentially solve the issue at hand. The warrior nodded towards Daxos, in greeting as she had the others who had followed suit in introducing themselves.

A woman was the final of the group to chime in her name and state her interest in helping the party successfully complete the mission. Her name was Xana and she seemed pleased when she met the eyes of the others present in the pavilion, however the night previous she had noticed the surprised in her body language that revealed her true reaction to the mission.

By taking the first step of exchanging introductions, the icebreaker seemed effective, with the exception of Clarissa and Silinrul. The woman with the wolf did not speak at all since the previous night when she stated she and her wolf would join the party. It seemed the woman and the wolf shared a very strong bond, but the fighter was displeased that she did not introduce herself as the rest had done, but at least she nodded in greeting. It always worried her when people kept to themselves, as the quiet ones were usually the ones to worry about.

After introductions, conversation began to flow like a river, twisting and turning every which way. Father Tolly had returned in a rush, nearly knocking Geoff off his feet as he entered the pavilion. Listening to the exchange and registering Geoff's reaction as the trinket was displayed and questions asked. Brother Garrat was apparently still waiting at the location they found the trinket. Already they were to be faced with their first decision as a group.

Athelia listened to the opinions of the rest of the party, absorbing their thoughts and fears, before revealing her own idea. It seemed Geoff was eager to investigate where Brother Garrat had found the trinket, but seemed the party was divided on their course of action. A couple members volunteered to go out and meet Brother Garrat in the early evening hours. It was then the fighter stepped forward and voiced her opinion of the situation.

"I can already smell the rain approaching, I believe we should call Brother Garrat back but find a way to leave ourselves cues on how to find the location again come first light when the rain clears. I do not believe we should risk getting caught in the rain, and since the light is failing, we should ensure we are all inside safely and investigate as soon as the rain clears."

It seemed the majority of the group agreed with this statement, but Geoff decided to escort the cleric to fetch brother Garrat from the spot they found the domino. The fighter began pacing the pavilion as the party split up knowing the acid rain would soon fall.

Subject: Moonstryker

Athelia Moonstryker stood near the doors of the Monastery keeping her back against the walls of the building. Silently she listened to the commanding voice of Grandfather Asher as he spun stories for the children. Her sapphire eyes scanning the room recalling every face in the gathered crowd. As the door swung open, it took only an instant for her to realize Jacob Thistlebrow had entered, yet by instinct the fighter found her hands ready to draw her weapons. The fear of the children rang through her body as they reacted to the figure who had entered with a stranger. Listening to the exchange, Athelia assisted in relocating the children, and delivering them home safely.

The following morning Athelia packed extra items before heading back to the monastery's largest chamber to listen and inquire about the course of action the elders considered to be wise. It was Brother Garrat who took the pulpit and explained the situation. It seemed they needed volunteers to protect the clerics on their travels to Pike. A woman with a wolf companion had approached first, and Athelia was quick on her heels to volunteer to join an adventure. The thought of eminent danger appealed to the young fighter, and she stepped forward proudly. The fighter counted the members and weighed their worth on the adventure as being a well-balanced group to embark on the mission.

Athelia wore full plate armour, and in beautiful sheaths crisscrossed on her back were her dual wielding scimitars. At a few parts of the journey the air became too thin, and it was difficult to breathe in the heat of their environment. Her mind attuned to the trickery that can happen in such conditions, she paced herself well with the rest of the party and always kept alert of her surroundings for fear of danger lurking.

As the two clergymen left to find firewood, the fighter studied her companions in better light, advancing to the middle of the room and speaking loudly:

"Greetings, I am Athelia Moonstryker, and I vow to fight until my dying breath to ensure success of this mission. You can anticipate that I will be at the forefront of all battles, fighting to the song of my ancestors. I look forward to working alongside each of you."
