Subject: DO NOT POST

OKay.

Intervention time.

I'd emailed Re privately to have her recraft the post to conform with established events she'd posted for already. So, I will be using my AGLP to hijack you all.

PLEASE DO NOT POST TILL I UPDATE.

This will delay the update I had planned on dropping on you all today, but it will be worth it.

Unsure of Cindi's motives, Hank simpy smiled. The curve of her lips was sharp, dangerous, and spoke volumes of the woman she may once have been...before now. Now she herself was unsure wha woman she was, only that she was notone to be toyed with.

"I'm fine, thanks."

Taking the keys, she closed her fingers around them, squeezing, feeling the metal bite into her skin. It wasn't fair to treat her so, just becase she was odd.

"You did a good job playing medic. Thanks." The others seemed intent on the lockers, and she had to admit that she was curious about them, as well. Hank hoped, as she approached the line of metal doors, that they would find some answers. Personally, she would be satisfied with nothing less than a one way ticket out of here.

Oddly, there was one door with the letters gouged out, like someone had tried to erase identity, and she looked immediately at Jonas, who had stopped playing cards with Delilah. There was something off about him, something not quite rght.

She tried each key, hoping to find one that fit the nameless locker.

June 3
I feel like the family dog who jumps in the car tail wagging when the man of the house says go for a ride. It happened like that. Before I knew it i was here, and i can't get back.

June 4
I hate this place.

June 5
I met them today. Cooperation is my only escape

June 7
I had a dream that I was home but they weren't there anymore. It was an empty house. Dr. H---- (name scribbled out) explained how things work. I'm having trouble fitting in.

Maybe if i had anything in common with these people I would behave.

June 10
Head hurts. Throat hurts. They play hard. I threw my tapioca at an the wall and they descended on me like locusts. When I opened my eyes I was in this place they call The Quiet Room tied down. o screamed and screamed but nobody came. they left the light on so i don't know how long it was. Or i didin't till i got out. When I was asleep they untied me and i crawled out when i woke up.

June 11
Met with Dr. H again. Went over my plan and had to sign a contract. They took away my shoes today becauce i tried to break the glass.

June 12
In group, L talked about her goldfish. I told her everything dies. Her parents, her sister, her brother, her fish. Everything and everyone dies. She started to cry and i whispered that if she was ready, I'd help her die too. I didn't have to stay in group but i had to spen the day in my room.

June 13
I HATE THIS PLACE

June 14

June 15
I won't let them break me. i'll smile at their stupid faces and go along with what they say but I won't break.

I have a roomie now. Her name is F_____ and she is from ###### (crossed out) We could be friends, i think. It woul dbe nice to have someone to talk to.

June 16
Spent hours talking to F about home. I told her how they packed suitcases and they said it was a surprise vacation and they gave me a drink that made me sleepy. i told her how everything got all blurry and then i didn't remember but I woke up in this room. She told me that when she got here, it was in chains and Dr. H took her into a little room in the basement and gave her a shot then made her do all these tests. She said she was supposed to be part of this new drug testing.

June 17
F has a new room. I'm alone again.

June 18
F and i were in the rec room playing chess and she started having convulstions. W said she was epileptic. i think she would have mentioned that to me.

In the decaying town of Silent Hill, amidst the rubble and ruin, one of the stranded has uncovered the journal of an unknown. Though its relevance is unknown, at the time of it's discovery, there may well be clues to the fate of those who were, and are, trapped within the strange uncertainty of Silent Hill.

Hank pressed her hands to her face and ran them up her face and over her hair, releasing a long, low sigh.

"Would it kill you," she asked slowly, deliberately, "to kindly loan them to us so that we could find out? I hate to bother you, consider how you're so busy not helping, and all that..."

While she waited for Cindi to produce the keys, she thought about the journal and what it meant. Maybe it meant nothing. Maube it had absolutely nothing to do with them, and finding it was purely coincidental. After all, they had found a number of things that hadn't of use.

So far, nagged a small whisper at the back of her brain, like a tiny worm in a garden. So what does this mean?

So there was journal. Written, obviously, by someone put someplace against their will. And this had much to do with them, she thought, since they were here against their will.

So what the hell were they supposed to do now?

Took a bit for me to get into it, but eventually it grew on me and I loved it. But I knew it was doomed when They killed Tosh and Owen. Yes, they were trying to be edgy. Yes, they were breaking new ground. But when you kill off two main characters, it spells trouble.

And really, less Jack? What is the BBC thinking?!?!?

He was damn good.

As Sylla scanned the room, acknowledging the barkeeps offering with only a curt nod, she had to admit to herself that Nyx was utterly belivablle. Honestly, she was glad to be in this position, because the alternative was ghastly. She despised the Empires treatment of her kind, and she almost despised how she was treating Nyx.

Almost.

yet she did keep herself in check - he was, after all, the Assassination Prince and could easily kill her where she stood and disappear into the night without a trace before anyone had a chance to scream.

Her thoughts were interrupted by a careless wench whose tray dropped suddenly, sending empty glasses crashing to the floor. They shattered on impact, fragmenting into thousands of tiny shards, each one cathing light, and Sylla turned her head a moment.

when she looked back at the servant, who stood motionless mortified, Sylla brushed and specks from her clothing and stood tall.

"You incompetent, dimwitted whelp! You should be sacked, you lazy cow. Go clean this up at once, before someone suts themselves on your stupidity," Sylla hissed, her venomous tongue cooling now.

As the servant hastily retreated, Sylla moved around the shattered glass to the stairs, her drink in hand.

"Come, slave," she bid Nyx, "I've grown bored already with this place. I've wasted enough time among the common folk. Let us present you to our friend and be done with this."

Sylla smiled beguilingly at each of the guards at the stairwell before ascending, her fingertips resting upon the smooth, worn wood of the rail and sliding gently up as she walked, Nyx trailing behind. A careful glance around the room revealed that simpleton witch, the pretender of the Empire, and she nearly smirked. The accident with the glass was no more accident for that little gnat of halfblood's presence than it would have been otherwise. Pity there were too many to bear witness or Sylla would have vaulted over the rail and cut off Cay's fingers and tongue.

But another coming through the door, little witnessed by others, cooled her blood. Mallys would take care of the wretch for her. After all, there was no need for four when three would do just as well. She only regretted that she could not be two places at once, but it was well enough, she suppsed. With Mallys below, with it without Cay, Sylla had little concern for the guards. Her dear sister could handle them well enough.

But her onyl problem now was that they had no idea where Gracchus was staying, and no plan short of opening each door, and that would not do well for any of them.

Inspiration struck. If Gracchus were as well connected as he supposedly was, considering that he was wanted emphatically dead, ther would be an increased presence on his floor. And it stood to reason that, were she to casually sweep each floor, she could determine his floor quite easily.

Sylla smiled and gained the top of the stairs.

Salted air, brilliant in its coolness, brushed her newly humanized flesh. She pouted coquettishly at the men and wove her way among them but realized she was not bait enough to lure any into her lethal clutches. But ah, the thrill of it when she had one almost in her hands, like potters clay, but he was not easily molded.

What plans they had, these Snakes, were more poisonous than her won ample charms, and so retreated only a little until Nyx, for it could be only him, cowered and chortles at her feet.

"Get on you feet, you miserable whelp," she snarled. "You think it wise to raise my hackles in wrath? Oh, if you were not a gift I'd tan your hide with my bootheels."

She knew this ruse, or thought she did. He was saving her miserable failure by coming to her aid in this guise. "Well, up with you, you miserable halfwit. Take me to him now. This place stinks of fishwhores and salted sickness. And i could use that drink."

Sylla followed, feeling the human form move cumbersome in comparison to her formerly lithe frame, and watched the mith'ganni totter along, well pleased he was so skilled at his subterfuge.

How rotten, she wanted to grin, that little witch would feel when they came closer to the mark than Cay.

She stepped aside at Septimus' behest and turned her head, staring off down the street, through the street, through it all. She saw beyond the avenue to her own path, and to the crossroads at which she stood.

To feel the loss of one she killed.

To ignore the action and continue as if nothing happened.

Compartmentalize. She could compress the memory of his weight falling away from her, the feel of his blood soaking her dress...

Her dress... She was covered with the complicity of her will. She would need a new one if she was to sneak into society, and she was uncertain how much money she would need in such an affluent neighborhood as she was in. She would need cover, as well.

Weren't her things back at the inn? She could easily change into her travelling clothes and walk unstained into the shops. but what to do about the body.

"Septimus," she whispered, "the body."

It would be noticed by someone. There were witnesses. She would hang if caught. She couldn't be caught.

Wouldn't be caught.

"Let us regroup at the inn. I'll need to change but to get back there I can't be seen like this."

Stardate: 2374.09.05
Charon - Bridge– 22:19 hours

((ooc: assuming it took only moments for the Cap to give the order to Mas'Riat))

"Warp six, Lt. Mas'Riat."

Mas'Riat nodded once. "Engaging, Captin," she replied, her voice far steadier than her insides, which quivered.

The panels before her, lit and glowing, were entirely foreign to her. All those test runs she had performed, she had done so having configured the controls to her memory, to those of the stolen craft she'd escaped in, and this was defintiely different.

But it wasn't alien to her. There was something there, in the layout and the concept, that she understood, something that called to her. Something that called to her past, and she felt the cold, dead hands of Davorious Tek upon the back of her neck, felt the roughened skin of the jem'Hadar hands that had punished her for so many years, and she burned.

Her fingers played over the controls, sliding over the touch-screen panels before her as Cathica Mas'riat, unfamiliar with Starfleet ships and protocol, distanced herself from emotion. she became only thought, only impulse, and through half-closed eyes felt herself shift mentally, felt herself becoming something entirely different.

She seethed.

No longer were the digits on her hand mere fingers, they became the conduit, and she transferred all purpose through them.

Mas'Riat felt the ship move, felt it push through the darkness of space, gaining momentum as the conrols were manipulated. The screens fed her information, displayed her new path.

She watched as they hit Warp Six, and stared at the large screen ahead of her, where the stars were butmemories. THey moved too fast for the light, too fast for memory. She felt the hand of Davorious Tek release her throat, and she breathed again.
