Site was down for Spiders and I from about 9pm EST to this morning toughly 9am est. (We're States-side ATM) And down Sunday, though I was comatose for most of that.

I advocate feeding of the Grugg to avoid any mindnight snacking on the mainframe.

Yeah, that's it. The newcomers.

Also, I'm sorry to say that Mas'Riat is a little...wel, she's stagnanting. So I am going to force a post, and if it's misplaced, let me know.

Rotting people.

Great. NOW I'm pissed.

Jetta turned sharp on her wheels and swung her bag off her shoulder. Her fingers found the handle of her nailstudded bat, and as she pulled it from the bag, she looked around, scowling.

"Rotting freakin people now? Are you freaking kidding me? That's it, this town has officially become the ninth ring of Suckville! First, no good parties. Then no good sex, and now, i have to deal with rotting freakin humans?!?!

Jetta shoved the new shoes into her bag. If she was going to avoid the freaks, she had to be able to move fast and the pavement outside was similar to what she learned to skate on as a kid.

"I'm good to go when you are, Big T, but ahhh.... you might want to get yourself a weapon. Just incase you need to...you know... crack some skulls or something."

Septimus has, i am certain, a thousand questions.

I would ask but don't want to risk Evani making anyone laugh and give anything away.

Subject: Sounds Like Fun

Words, words words. Humans loved to speak,to fill the void with their endless cacaphony of prattling, mewling, whining hatred. The needed, with a sick, slick desperation, to hear themselves speak in endless monologue, to be heard by others and thought of as intelligent or important, when in reality, Sylla DeMoria felt they were all black, rotting vermin in desperate need of extermination.

As the Captain of the chapter spoke, part of her srifted, imagining a series of brutal, bloody, brilliant plagues of madness befalling humanity leaving Men clawing and scratching at themselves, cannibalising thier own kind til only bones were left. She, who was known among the gutterkind and lower-caste and halfbreeds like herself as Spite, fixed a stoic smile to her full red lips to hide her muderouss thoughts. This, she forced herself to remember, was a stepping stone to a greater destiny. It was only a means to an end.

The task sounded clearcut enough, clearly nothing that should have required more than a single decent assassin or at the most, an assassin/thief team. She felt a fleeting brush of conact, a familair gentle sweep to serve as a confirmation of her thoughts. She glanced at Mallys, the completeion of herself, the second half of herself, and nodded imperceptibly as Mallys toucher her hand lightly. Cay was, like herself, a halfbreed and Nyx fullblooded, both were not unknown to her, but she disliked this greatly. Other people were too much of a variable when added to a party. Her thoughts turned, darlky, to the mission. Perhaps, she thought, there was more to this than they were being fed.

It would not surprise her. Being only a half-step above the gutterkind, they did not, in the eyes of the almighty Empire, deserve full disclosure. It was even possible that this was nothing more than a mild form of amusement to the humans - toy with them, release them, repeat. But they were getting paid, and that was all she needed to care about at the moment.

"Understood, Sir," she accepted quietly, and her full red lips twisted into a spiteful grin.

Subject: Two Night's Past (Backpost)

Two night's past...

Once thin wisps of clouds streaked across the charcoal, star-speckled skies had fattened considerably. Sharp winds transformed from blunt intruments into piercing weapon, and the air itself thickened into an almost tangible force. As Sylla navigated the narrow, cobbled pathways of the gutterkind's slums, she counted beats and passers-by.

Behind her, by four paces, followed one of the unwashed masses, a thick-blooded dimwitted human whose intentions were dark, indeed; Sylla's mind was darker still. Amid the clicks and clacks of many feet, she could pull out the mirror of her own, the footfalls of her twin, the paces behind her pursuer.

She quickened her steps and smiled beneath her forward-fallen raven waves, listening. Her pursuer quickened also, as did her sister. With a deep breath, she turned hard right and plunged into a low-lit alley, and headed deep. When she saw the wall, she turned, feigning breathlessness, and shifted her left foot back till it met the wall, guaranteeing herself a bi of clearance room.

The human laughed mirthlessly, grinning in the dark.

"Please," Sylla breathed, trembling, shoulders shaking. "Please don't hurt me."

And then he spoke, detailing between laughter what he would do to her, how he would hurt her, when he suddenly stopped, realizing the sounds escaping from her were not symptomatic of fear. Sylla shook, her head bowed, and raised her eyes. Glittering emerald stared back at him. Her full red lips twisted into a rictrus grin of pleasure, and the promise of pain.

The sounds she made were no longer sobbing pleas for mercy but a low, ominous laugh that seemed to echo in the alley. Enraged, the man drew a dagger and shouted, and the thick, fat clouds above could take no more. When they burst, it seemed to rain oceans at once, and distracted him long enough.

"Mallys, now!" she cried.

The unseen sister laughed, light and musical, and a whip-crack accentuated the strike of lightning that lit the ground like daylight for a brief moment. Sylla continued to grin as Mallys' whip wrapped around the man's weapon and pulled it from his hand.

Pushing off from the wall, Sylla drew her own dagger and plunged it ti the hilf into the man's throat. Kicking his body from her, she withdrew her blade and nodded as Mallys knelt to search his body. The spray of blood fell against Sylla's black corset, against her flesh, and ran from her skin in the rain. She breathed deeply, relishing the cold sting of the harsh night and drove her heel into the cheek of her quarry with a satisfying crunch of bone.

Approaching Mallys, she extended her hand. "Come, sister. Let us retire for the night."

Flashing the barkeep her secret smile, the one reserved for those bound for her bed, Evani stepped alon gthe bar, putting space between Septimus and herself. He was not going to like this, not even a little, but she wanted to believe that somewhere inside of him, the pirate lord would understand.

Evani leaned against the bar, a shoulder forward, a hand on the bar, fingers tracing circles slowly, lightly, on th scarred surface.

"I am new," she confessed, keeping her voice low, warm, and conspiratorial. "I would love te opportunity to discuss the virtues and vices of such a fine city with someone who understands her intimately. Someone," she sighed, "as knowledgeable as yourself..."

She let the invitation hang weightless in the air, and kept her eyes upon his as she waited for his response.

She only hoped Septimus understood and played along.

I'm assuming the Gaptain G has a big fat bombshell of a mission briefing for us all? Or did i not realize this meeting was it...?

You'll have to excuse me, I'm on day three with significan lack of sleep and about 24 hours shy of a significant occupational deadline that will mean the difference between survival or the dole. Since I am the least overdue to post for this game, I believe Mas'Riat will just sit there quietly, relieved that she hasn't been flayed for her unintentional tardiness.

Before deciding to break the plexiglass front of the vending machine, Josh tries the buttons and is surprised to find that it works magnificently, as does the soda machine, thogh the can is warm.

The binder is a list of alll purchases made for floral arrangements for the funeral parlor and local cemetary. The ledger entries are listed in collums labled ORDER DATE, DELIVERY DATE, NAME, PLOT, MESSAGE, PURCHASER. Josh scans each page, stopping at his own name. The order and delivery date are April 17th, and the purchaser is listed as Cindi Lawran. There are three other entries for that date.

Hank Preston appears, according to the ledger, to buried beside him, as well as Delilah Drake beside Hank and Chris Chatterton on Delilah's other side. There is a message with each name. Josh's message is PLEASE HELP ME.. Hank's is COVER YOUR EYES OR LOSE THEM. Delilah's is THE SKELETONS IN YOUR CLOSET ARE COMING TO GET YOU. Chris's message is THIS ONE TASTES LIKE LIES.

A photograph falls out from between pages. It's a picture of Josh as he is sitting right now, at the table with the binder, holding the photograpgh. Pain explodes within his head; he drops the photo and clutches his head, groaning, and knocks the binder off the table in the process.

After long, agonizing moments, the pain subsides without explantion and he reaches down for the book, only to catch sight of the page it has fallen open to. It is a newspaper clipping from many years ago, about a fire in the local church. There were several deaths, according to the article, but all the names involved have been blacked out with marker.

As he reads the article, he can almost feel the heat of the blaze warming his body, can almost hear the snap and pop of dry wood succumbing to flame. He tastes ash on his tongue, smells the burning. He can almost see flescks of soot on his hands, yet there is nothing there. The image and sensations are so strong, so intense, that Josh realizes it's a memory. He remembers the church burning, recalls standing before it as flames cleansed it's hypocracy.

But he can not remember the catalyst, the reason for torching the church, only that he watched it burn to the very foundation. All that came before is still blank, as is all that happened after. Suddenly, there is a knock at the door, teh one he had opened into the films.
