Topic: yet another movie thread...
Subject: Funny Games

Are you tired of the summer Blockbusters? Looking for something with little plot, bad conversation, and pretentious camera tricks? Do you want a way to waste an hour and a half of you life? If you answered yes to all, then have I got the movie for you!

Funny Games is the story of a dull, unintersting family as they spend time in their enormous summer home on the lake, surrounded by other enormous summer homes on a lake so big they must travel by sailboat to visit anyone. However, the villians soon make an appearance as bland, uninterseting killers who make a wager with themselves that this particular family will be dead by morning. What passes for "hijinx" ensue.

To be quite honest, this movie induced no fear, no suspense, and no interest at all other than a surge of bile as i revisited my dinner.

Ihe acting was tasteless, stiff, and inconsequential. The dialogue was stiff, forced, and horribly written. Dead moneys could have made a better movie. Howard the Duck was a better movie.

The villians are supposed to be shockingly normal white blond sububanites, but they are just unbearable. Had i been the victim, I would have offed myself just to be rid of them.

The opening sequence is enough to make anyone gag. Mom, Dad, and Son are in a car, playing "Name That Tune" with Classical music. Suddenly we hear noisemetal, but it's not the family, its just the opening credit music. In addition to the out-of-place music, we are treated to 8bit graphics for the title. At several points, the alpha male villian speaks directly to the audience, and at one point uses an actual remote control to rewind part of the movie and replay it differently. This technique was wasted in such a horrible piece of cinematic trash that I weep for Naomi Watts, despite the fact that I think she can't act her way out of a paper bag to save her life, no matter what movie she is in.

This film had no redeeming qualities whatsoever and is, in point of fact, SO bad i give it a negative infinity and demand the gods retun the 90 minutes of my life I wasted on this crap.

((Edit: as an avid fan or all things bloody, i had been looking forward to this. Now I am just sad.))

*POOF*

You are now the richest man in the world. Unfortunately, you earned all your money by eliminating time wasting chores like personal hygiene in order to have more time for moneymaking so you are also the most foul-smelling man in the world and nobody wants to take your money for fear of your deadly bacteria.

I wish I owned a David Tennant clone, complete with the Scottich brogue.

Really, I have been terrible about updating here, but I've set up a schedule so it should be back to normal. Even though it's two weeks away, I want all to know that during the 4th of July weekend, I don't expect any postings so dont expect any updates. Te tribe and I are all going camping again, and I am forbidden from any tech. ANY.

Jonah Hawke has been introduced and I posted for Hank, inserting my AGLP (Amaxing Godlike Powers) to assign myself a memory. Kaelyn, I will be senfding you a PM soon.

I will be updating twice a week starting this weekend. You don't have to post that often, but I will be updating for those who do. If, for instance, nobody posts by the time my second update rolls around, then I will probably insert some backstory on the town, or something.

"All I havem" she offers weakly, "is a knife. And what do you mean the road is gone? What the hell does that mean?"

Lost. They were all lost. They were all going to die here, they were all going to die and their bodies would be left to rot her, in this place.

Hank stared down at her arm as they apoke, but she was having trouble focusing. Something was happening inside her, something unexplainable. Pain exploded with her mind, as if some hand were in there, tearing sections off. Yet as suddenly as it came upon her, it passed.

And she remembered.

Not all, no, most of her life was still a complete blank, but there was something, in the midst of all the unjnown within her, that stood out.

"I know this place," she whispered, staring through the dark at nothing, the thousand yard stare of those who have survived terrible things. "I... I grew up here. Over...Over by the florist. My father was a gravedigger. But I don't... that's all I have."

Hank looked up at the others, the tall beautiful girl with the long black hair, the cop, or so she was going to assume, and Cindi, who had patched her up.

"Chris, can I see your map?"

If Chris agreeed, she would look on the map for the florist and see if anything jogged her memory. She will notice the Flower Shop and suggest they start there, as a group.

Josh can not suppress the slight tremble in his hand as he turns the knob. But rather than the empty blackness he once saw behind this door, he finds only a closet containing a man.

He has the build of a man who played football in college. Long brown hair has been pulled back into a ponytail, and the beard and moustache appear excellently groomed. All that mars the averageness of his face is a faint scar that extends from left eye to the corner of the left side of his mouth. As the door opens, he looks up at Josh without the terror one might come to expect, as if he knew this would happen.

"Well, this certainly isn't how I'd intended us to meet," the man in the closet offers.

Syla sighed and flipped dark waves from her face. The little wich was a trial to her patience, and she could see from the set of Mallys' jaw that it was taking effort to leave her alive.

"Yes yes, since you've elected youself to be our leader, no doubt a lingering trait from your beloved human side, that sounds fine...for now. However, be warned now that I have little respect for those who, like the Empire, use their bloodline as the basis for dominance. Why don't you scamper off like a good little dog now and make youself of some use now...

After Cay had taken her leave, Sylla turned her full attention to Nyx. "Oh my violent pretty man," she grinned, "one could never have enough of you. Let us see how well the salty old dogs protect what's theirs shall we?
Sister dear? Will you join us for a bit of sport?"

The response was as she had anticipated, and Sylla took her sisters hands for a moment. Releasing it, she turned back to Nyx.

"Lead the way, Precious."

Evani knew that look.

She knew the look of lean and hungry longing, the look of rewards and cold coins tha blind true sight. Knew the look of desperate men and desperate times. She knew these things as surely as she knew the feel of the road beneath her feet, or the sky above. Knew them as surely as one who knows the sun will only set to rise again. Evani knew and was not afraid. She knew the weight and feel of the gun in her hand and the spead of its bullets. She knew the click of its mechanics and the cold calm comfort it provided her.

In the tavern, before fleeing, she had withdrawn her weapon. She held it still, concealed by the folds of the dress, and smiled bequilingly again. The breeze moved the strands from her face and lifted them away. With the sun behind her, she could have seemed almost divine, if not for the look of determination on her face.

The men approaching were nothing to her, but that was only because she did not know them. If she could avoid killing them, she might learn something of the city's underground, the way it worked and moved, the ways in. If they wewre going to survive this place, they would have to go underground for a bit.

"Come for a bit of a lark, have you," she chuckled. "Bit of sport?"

Holding her breath she waiting till the closes one was within reach and grabbed his arm, pulling him against her. With his back against her, she pressed the barrell of her weapon to his throat and turned with him, making sure all around had a clear view of her new position.

"Now then, my friends. I should tell you that if you take one step towards me, your friend here will find himself decorating my dress. SO this is how it works. I ask, you tell. "

She stared at the faces and began her inquisition. She filed away the answers and

Control.

Evani had it now.

"Who sent you?" She listened. "Who controlls the city's criminals?"

Evani felt each beat of her heart thump against her chest, felt the blood pounding in her veins. "And th city? Who controls the city itself?"

She filed them away, the words, the information, the knowledge she was gaining. She pressed the barrel of the gun harder into her hostage's throat. "Now where can I find Corfsand? Tell me, or I kill him now where he stands."

But even as the words were out of their mouths, the sounds lingering only a moment in the air, the man in her arms reached for something just as Septimus took her side and she finally caught sight of the dwarf.

Criminals. Scourge. She thought of the old man, robbed of his wares, and the temple guardians of her youth, and the idea that Shaben had set into motion events he could not have forseen falling this dire. She thought of the people working so hard to survive, and how men like this made it impossible to live safely. And in the end, it did't matter what reasons these men had.

"Oh, hello dearest. Have you brought Reckless?" She turned her head, offering her cheek to Septimus' lips, and as he turned her head, Evani fired.

When you click an Innmate's name, it takes you to the page where you can see what games they play in, etc.

Is it possible/feasible to pop a Calendar tab there as well? My thought is that a generic calender in month or weekly viewing style could appear showing said Innmate's availiblity for that week or month.

Like, if I know that for the weekend of 6/27-6/29 I will be away, the calendar on my Innmate Info page could show the month with those dates either blacked out or saying "AWAY"...

"I suppose," Spite chuckled, "that if I were to cut the tips off my oears as well and prance about as one of the parasites, I could do, as one, what you do as well..."

She paused, twirling a lock of ebon waved silk around a long slender finger. "..but the people who typically employ me like things done well."

Drinks and food were ordered, and she passed a few coins tot he wench. "Clean glasses, if you can trouble yourself to find them, dearie. Two. And we'll have whet he is having," she smiled, offering a slight nod to Nyx.

"But yes, I could very well lure him where ever. For a roundear pretender, that's not a bad idea. Don't you think so, dearest Mallys?"

But her silent sister sat scowling, shadowed by her cloak. Leaning back, Sylla sighed. "It might be advantageous to disguise myself and have a look around while you lot work out some oother avenues to fall back upon, should our original plan fail for some reason," she suggested, focsing her smile, now cold but polite, at Cay.

"Of course, wecould always consider the possibility of dual diversions. Burn down the building while I have him out. THat way, the building would be relatively unoccuoied while you search."
