I've decided not to add Duncan's character info to the Q&A for reasons you will all learn, hopefully soon.

Duncan, I need your physical description still before I can post an intro for you. So I can not update for anyone yet. However, I will be adding a Hank post, and Spiders will post as soon as she stops itching. SOMEONE picked up some poison ivy over the weekend.

And K, Spiders was hoping you could respond to her post in your Q&A.

She saw the blow before it came, and though she tried to bend herself into it, to lessen the effect, it came nonetheless. Air rushed from her lungs in a woosh of pain, and she fought to maintain her balance.

Unable, for the time being, to form a coherent vocalized thought, she gasped for air and pointed behind them to the back of the store.

Come on, Big T, don't make me go out the front door, she prayed, and pointed to the fron. She shook her head violently, and pointed back to the back of the store.

Okay, well, now that Septimus has posted I have to do mine over again. I was just waiting for a few descriptions from Loki first.

So now it will take me awhile to recraft it. Maybe I can have it done by midnight.

I promise to post in all my games tonight, with the exception of ST:OP and the two games on hiatus.

So, I suppose this post is out of place in Comings & Goings, as it is neither. Just a promise.

And we're back!

Really, it was a marvellous time and we're already planning to go again in 2 weeks, but this time just the grown-ups. The kids had a great time though, so that's good. I'll try to pop up a photobucket later tonight.

Spiders is hope resting now and I'm in the office, but we should have posts up tonight.

Anyway, might I get a description of the three looters and the old man, as well as the loot they are carrying?

Also, Spiders posted in comings and goings that we'll both be away this weekend, so see you Monday!

You want I should send you Nolara's previous relationships?

"Well, I can tell you I am not goin' out like that, Big T."

She took a few swings of the at and grinned. "Besides, i bet I'm faster than you. I make it to your car first, with completely uneaten brains, and you give me a gun, 'kay?"

Jetta gave him a slow once-over, still grinning. "Or do you think you can beat me?"

In all honesty, she though, he did have longer strides, but she hadn't quite hung up the skates just yet, so she could still beat him.

((assuming positive response))

With a grin, she skated towards the doors, keeping her eyes peeled for any danger.

Mas'Riat sat quietly, taking in the reports and conversation, filing them away for future reference. Her mind returned again and again to the flight plan, to the trajectory through space which the would take, bringing her back into the heart of darkness, into the hands of the addicts of The White, that strange and sickening substance which the Jem'Hadar craved.

But the plan was incomplete. She had only shown them the path, not the way in. The Jem'Hadar were known to be ruthless, efficient, and organized. After all, they had the Federation by the-

Mas'Riat shifted uncomfortably in her seat. If she were a creator, she would have taken the logic of the Vulcans, the efficency of the Borg, and the persistence of the Cardassians, as wel as their desire for dominance, and poured them into a vessel. The end result would have been the Jem'Hadar.

She had to craft a flight plan out, a way "home," give the rank and file a gentle nod of encouragment. With the heavy losses suffered daily by the Federation, everyone knew someone who had died in this war, and for a crew, no matter how brazen or skilled, to hear they would be heading into the mouth of madness would be difficult to take and still smile.

Se could hear them now, even now in the safety of the ship, she could hear the lash as it bit into her skin. Felt the chains dragging at her limbs.

Damn them all, se would make sure she got out again.

The frown. The bristle of distain.

Evani caught the downturn of mouth, the narrowing of eyes, and gasped, eyes wide, hands to her heart. "How wonderful," she breathed. "A wife and children! That sounds divine, and I do appolgizr for any misunderstanding, I simply hoped that ou would be able to assist me, as I have a desperate need to gain entry to that party. you see-"

The opening door and loud, raucous joviality of the entering sailors stole her attention, and as she trned could see the whole of the danger. The soldiers were advancing.

"Oh bloody hell," she muttered, and lifted her skirts. Witin a moment the pistol, warmed by her flesh, was in her hand again and yet she paused, watching the patrons slowly enter the fray. The brawling impeded the progress of the soldiers and afforded Recless the opportunity to advance, whip cracking, till he reached her and held her fast by the elbow.

They made it to the door, and at Recless' urging, she fled.

It felt like fear and looked like cowardice, and she fled. It sounded like danger and tasted like desperation, and she fled. But oh, it smelled like freedom, and as th twisting allweyways gave way to open roads, she stopped, feeling alone, and took stock in her surroundings.

BTW, love your name. Makes me think of the Batman (Adam West) and pulp comics.

Sounds like a great idea. Once Nolara left the caravan, she went back to Bayris, hoping to find a healer. She had saved a considerable amount of coin to pay for anything that could be done for her, but was robbed in the streets and beaten. Perhaps you found her?

Delilah clings to Chris as they stand in the dark. The scream dies, it's melody torn apart by the wind, leaving them cold. The lingering darkness fills with the sounds of scraping and shuffling, the sounds of the darkdwellers making their way..Chris' iPod starts to vibrate and gives off an eerie lumination as static fills the screen. The sound of it becomes louder as does the shuffling scrape.

The pair watch in horrified fascination as the empty blackness around them is slowly filled with a mad assortment of the darkdwellers. Some of them lack faces of any kind, while others are only mouths, gaping beneath the thin membrous film that coves their bodies. Some are women, with curves that in life would have made men weep, whose skin is now mottled greenish alabaster marbled with black and red veins, clothing tattered. Some are men who may once have been burly but whose bodies were slack and wilted like a Salvadore Dali nightmare conception.

Delilah shatteres the stillness with a scream, and begins to run, blindly, clutching Chris' hand. They stop suddenly and stare, blankfaced, at the two women before them.

Hank stands, unsteady but refusing to give in to her nausea. Blood seeps through the bandages. Cindi smiles politely and looks completely unphased. It is almost as if she expected this meeting. The quartet introduce each other as best they can when Chris and Delilah's eyes grow wide.

The church has begun to smoke. Thrick billowing waves cascade upward, engulfing the face, and as they all turn to watch, the flames begin. At first mere tongues of flame lick the windows and then consume greedily the wooden surface of the building. Soon the building is engulfed.

And the doors burst open. Hank jumps, starled, and backs away as if fearing what she will see, but it is not the many bodies she saw as she left. Transparent people, dressed in their Sunday best, pour from the door. Hank, Cindi, Delilah and Chris can see the outlines of buildings through them.

Cindi sighs. "Oh....that again."

So here's the scoop.

The 5 characters currently in the town have little to no memory of their previous lives.

Since everyone has such varied posting availibility, the story is realtively slow in opening but basically they know nothing about what the plot is. And I, using my amazing godlike GM powers, will be kicking it up a notch or two in the next coming days.

Character generation is really simple. Just PM me your character's physical description, and a list of items you would *like* to see in your personal inventory, and the two of us will work out a background/bio and whatnot.

Nolara The Mute
Half syl "thief"
22
tanned skin
dark blonde hair with red highlights
green with blue tinge eyes
prefers loose fitting pants tucked into kneehigh boots, low on her hips, dark shirts

The Mute. That is what they called her as she passed, in half-concealed whispers when they thought she could not hear. Some, when they spoke to her, raised their voices as if the plague that had taken her voice had taken her hearing, as well. Her presence in the strets was tolerated, but in politer circles was viewed merely as an embarrasment.

She had been only a child when her mother has exiled from the Blood Plains, her homeland, because Nolara would not speak. out of place, treated as an oddity for her pointed ears. Half Syl in the land of barbarians. Her mother was ostracized, shamed, and made a pariah. no man would have her for having spawned a halfblood.

With no money and less food, they could not afford the trip by boat to Bayris, and so braved the plains. But the raod was hard, and both mother and child fell ill. In a grip of fever, Lianni threw herself before a nomad caravan and was crushed beneath the weight of many hooves.

Orphaned, her father having been an unnamed syl wanderer, the nomad tribe took her in and nursed her back to health, but the damage had been done. The silent child had been silenced forever, unable to even grunt or groan, and there was none among the nomads skilled in magic.

In her adolesence, Nolara left the tribe, with whom she had been raised but had never been close to, in search of those of the wierding way, those gifted with the power.

Having been so young when her voice was stolen, she had little idea how it happened, and so was torn by her hatred of the gods and her need to please them, hoping and dreaming wildly that if she did the right thing, helped enough people, she would be rewarded by regaining her voice.

Nolara was the picture of duality; she both envied and despised those who could speak, admiring them for the stories they could tell, hating that she could not. She wept bitterly some nights, unable to turn to a mother for comfort, and shunning contact with others when possible. She learned to steal what she needed as she travelled, and found herself uncomfortable in the presence of others.

Her inability to communicate infuriated her, yet it was this desire, to have a simple conversation, that drove her to seek the mages and wizards and socerers of a hidden city.

The exploitable masses, that is who they represented, at least in the eyes of the Wmpire, that wicked gleaming gem of destruction and death. Ah, but she was not, in their eyes fit enough to lick their bootheels, but good enough to kell for them. The power behind the Empire was not the Empire itself or the human puppests who defiled worlds in her name, but the many broken backs and bodies upon which the Empire was built. They may have been filth and the dregs of "society," but they were the wheels that turned the machine. Theywere the hands that got ditry for the Empire.

Paid and lingering in the great common hall of the tavern, a sigh, the briefest of breath, escaped her lips as she considered the interplay between the halfblood and the Assassin Pince. "Elven blood, human heart, this we're made of," Spite sang, her low dark voice a whispered carress, "there is none in The Empire we're afraid of. And i shall die with both of my hands untied." As she sang she stared at Cay and smiled wickedly, all the while wondering how one could hate her own blood as deeply as Cay seemed to hate hers. No matter, Sylla, reasoned. She had seen enough of Cay to respect the half-breed's style, even if she did let them live when she was done. But Nyx...

Under Mallys' disproving scowl, Sylla softened the sinister smile and stepped around the Assassin Prince, twirling lighty on her feet. She began to dance, to shimmy her lithe frame, and bend as a reed to the cacaphonous din of th room. "Tell me," she called to them, "wouldn't our discussion taste much better to the tongue with a bit of ale?"

((assuming agreement from all))

Leading her companions to a darkened table in the back, Syllla slid into the booth, trapping Nyx between her and her beloved other half. In hushed tones, she addressed Cay, inviting her to sit, if she did not mind sitting so close to one of fouled elven blood.

"But you, dearest, darkest, Cay, my sweet pretender, tell me what you believe to be your strengths, and we sisters shall tell you ours. Nyx's own, we know by rote and reason, don't we, dearest Mallys?"

((assuming "positive" response))

"Good and well, and such a nice fit within our little puzzle, don't you think, so, dearest Mallys?"

Her sister merely scowled, displeasure evident upon pursed red lips, in darkened emerald eyes. "Oh don't pout so, sister. IF we are to function as a signle sword, a singular enity, the one strike of an expert hand, would it not be of our mutual benefits to understand one another?"
