I'm assuming Willem is still sticking with Vincent, but Vincent is charging the skeleton right in front of him. Going to hack down anything that gets within reach and try and make an opening in the East Flank.

Subject: World of Darkness: The Dark Carnival, coming soon!

You and your friends were walking down the streets of the Bronx one chill evening in October after visiting the local bar. You were all laughing and talking, enjoying yourself when you noticed something you've never seen before. It looked like a carnival in the distance. Though you were inebriated, you all decided to walk on over and check this new attraction out. Never once did it pass through your mind that there have been no advertisements at all about a carnival in the city. As you drew closer you notice a very tall man standing outside the entrance with a megaphone shouting:
COME ONE COME ALL, TO THE GREATEST SHOW ON EARTH. WE HAVE GAMES, PRIZES, SHOWS AND RIDES! EVERYTHING YOUR PRETTY LITTLE HEARTS DESIRE! COME NOW AND ENJOY THE FUN! BRING YOUR FAMILY, BRING YOUR FRIENDS! EVERY NIGHT UNTIL THE SUN RISES, WE SHALL BE WAITING! COME ONE COME ALL! Two days later a missing persons case is filed for you and your friends. No one knows where you went, there is no evidence of a carnival, no evidence of you. The last place you were seen was at the bar with your friends. Months pass and people start to forget, no one remembers much about your disappearance, and people start to move on. That spring, in a quaint town in the middle of the Rockies, children and adults alike hear the rumors of a carnival coming to town...

I have a wonderful little bucket of ideas floating around in my think pan, and I want to spill them all out. I hope to do this with a good ol' fashioned game of World of Darkness. I hope my little intro up there gives you some idea of what is happening and where this shall take place. Please leave a message if you're interested and I shall answer any and all questions unless they reveal story that I can not show to the populace!

Remember, Carnivals are always fun~!

Vincent plans on staying close to Willem, as well as keeping up the defensive with his shield and striking at any skeleton who gets within range of his sword. Once the group is done he'll double back to help cover anyone who plans on escaping through the gap they hopefully make.

Subject: New Journey

Vincent had enjoyed the boat ride to the islands. Though the week was stormy at times, and mostly uneventful, he enjoyed himself. He spent much of his time either holding onto to something to keep his balance, or talking to Willem.

Vincent felt that he was finally able to start making a friend right away, as he had not had a companion since his days in training. He'd also taken to talking to the crew when he could to learn as much about sailing as he could. "You never know when something like this could save your life" would always be his answer when someone asked why.

It was a relief when he finally was able to set foot on land again, it'd been quite a while now. He had his eye patch hanging around his neck like a necklace and took slow, shaky steps of the gangplank, trying to get use to the fact the ground was not moving beneath him. Thankful for the 10 gold he was given and the chance to get a hot meal, he was quite surprised when he saw nothing but ruins.

As the rest of the group walked forward, Vincent quickly drew his sword and shield and moved up near Willem. Looking around the ruins of the town, staring at the caved in houses and store fronts, he started to feel uneasy. "How can something like this happen, and no one know about it?"

Vincent snapped out of his thoughts as soon as he heard Jaufre yelled out about Skeletons walking towards them. Freezing in his spot for a moment, Vincent registered what he had just heard. "We should take one group on, I say the right. Fight them before the rest hit, but we dont' have much time!" Looking over to Willem, Vincent grinned. "Aye, a good plan! Let's show these undead freaks how true warriors fight!" For show he banged his sword against his shield and let out a holler.

Leaning over to Willem he whispered, "Want me to charge up there with you? Two swords are better than one."

We could also think about moving the more squishy people into safer positions, while the more tank like people take up defensive positions around them?

So the Fighter, Knight, Cleric, Paladin, maybe one or both the bards?

Hodges, Gyro and one of the other clones carried the injured one into the med-bay and set him on a bed.

"Someone, see if there is a medkit. They are more effective then this medpac."

"I'm on it." Batter spoke as he immediately started digging through drawers throughout the room. It took a minute, but he managed to find a proper medkit and took it to Gyro.

Looking over to the other clone he took off his helmet and sighed. "What's the situation? What happened?"

---------------------------------------------------------

"How many are we facing? How much resistance?" The clone at the console turned over his shoulder and stared at Hodges. His helmet was missing and he looked like he took a blow to the face. "I don't know... I-I-I just don't know. They must've had a dozen or so, maybe more." The clone stepped back towards the wall and slowly slid down it towards the floor clutching his head in panic.

The only other clone in the hallway looked up to Riggs as he spoke. "I can come with you. I won't be much help, but I don't think we should do things alone." Standing up shakily, he pulled out a blaster pistol and moved next to Riggs.

As Gyro smashed away at the console, the other 3 clones stood, weapons pointed at the door, waiting. As tension filled the room, time seemed to slow. At last, the blast doors inched open and four more clones poured through, blaster fire following. "CLOSE THE DAMN DOORS! BEFORE THEY GET US!"

One of the clones pushed Gyro out of the way and immediately closed the blast doors. The sound of blaster fire was reduced quite significantly reduced as the doors closed behind them. The one clone stood hunched over the console panting. Two others sit on either side of a clone laying on the floor, a gaping wound in his side. One of the clones looked up towards Hodges, Batter, and Riggs. Through gasping sobs he spoke, "A-a-a-are any of you medics? Can you save him? Please save him!"

---------------------------------------------------------

Batter stood dumbstruck as the clones fell in front of him. He couldn't take his eyes off the clone's wound. He wasn't trained for this, and he had no clue how to respond. His arms dropped to his side as the other clone spoke. "Sorry, I don't know. Let's get him to the Med-Bay though." Walking over, Batter helped pick up the wounded clone.

Sitting as Willem got up and left, Vincent thought about what to do. He could go talk to the others, or continue to converse with Willem. The man seemed a bit gruff, but otherwise friendly, and maybe he could teach Vincent a bit about swordplay! Scarfing down his meal, Vincent jumped out of his chair and ran towards the door.

Outside he started to sprint so he could catch up to Willem before he disappeared farther into the town. Gasping for breath he called out, "Willem! *huff* *huff* Wai-wait up!"

Suprised that the other man had stopped, he hurried to catch up. "I hope, *huff* I hope you don't mind me tagging, *huff* tagging along." Taking a breath, he allowed himself to speak more clearly. "I figured, maybe I could walk around with you? If that's ok? I can always go back to the Inn if I'll just be a bother." Scratching the back of his head, Vincent looked over to Willem and let out a small grin.

"It's ok, I guess I do owe you at least that. Willem is my name. I'm glad we could have this chat."

"I only have one more question really, do you know anything about where we'll be going? I've never heard of Tagea."

Looking up and taking a deep breathe to calm himself, Vincent once more looked at the man. "Willem, that's a good name. I'm glad to have you as a companion."

Straightening in his chair, and poking at his food a bit Vincent looked about the room at the rest of the group scattered throughout the Inn.

"Can't say I know much about it. From what I've seen, peeking at the maps the others were looking at, it's some sort of Island chain, as well as a town. Sounds interesting enough to explore I guess."

"Me, well no big reason here. The gold helps and I plan on moving on through I guess."

"So, do you know anyone else here?"

Squinting a bit as he stared at the man, Vincent leaned in a bit and adjusted his seat.

"I don't know anyone here myself, but interesting story you have there hahaha."

Sipping more of his ale Vincent looked down at the table and planted his hand on his head.

"I can't believe I forgot! I never asked your name good sir, m-m-my apologies!" Bowing his he head he apologized profusely.

Vincent thought to himself as he felt his face turn a bright shade of scarlet, "You'd think after twelve years of training, that included etiquette I could have remembered that of all things." Sliding into his chair a bit he quickly finished off what was left of his ale.

"I am no mechanic. We need to go keep our brothers' covered." As Hodges said this and started to walk out of the room, Batter followed with his knife raised.

"Think we're gonna get through this Hodges? Be pretty sad if we couldn't take on a few enemies right?" With a nervous laugh Batter continued to follow his brother through the gloomy red halls.

--------------------------------------------------------------

As Gyro and Riggs entered the dorm, they were greeted with an eerie quietness. Looking in and seeing nothing out of the ordinary, both clones entered the dormitory. Scrounging in the dark, they managed to find what they were looking for.

Riggs, first to leave the room, almost didn't notice Hodges and Batter coming down the same route as they all collided. Laying on the ground they heard what sounded like heavy, but quick moving footsteps coming down the hall from Checkpoint Epsilon. A faint voice can be heard through the closed doors, "open up! we have wounded! hurry before the clankers get us!!"

-----------------------------------------------------------
Laying on the floor, Batter was quite startled as to what was happening, one moment he was behind Hodges, the next Hodges was on top of him on the floor with Riggs. Just as he started to push himself up he heard the voice of a fellow clone. "Clankers!? Here!? Hurry up and open that door for them!" He practically yelled into Hodges and Riggs ears as he climbed up from the floor.

"Aye, I'm one of the ones who answered the posters. But I'm no man of the sword, I'm just a man who knows where to stick a blade when needed."

"What about you, Vincent. How long have you been a man of the sword, and what's that blade ever done for you to make you want to be with it so long?"

Vincent sat as the man ate his food and asked his question. Staring into his eyes he started to speak.

"Aye, that's a good a skill as any. As for me, well ever since I could walk I always wanted to be a Knight in Eluythus. At the age of 7 I was luckily recruited into the school, and for 12 years I trained. I learned to worship Mars, I learned how to use my blade, and I learned how to lead and defend my friends."

Taking a pause as his food and ale were delivered, he took a swig of the ale and continued as he put the mug down.

"Unfortunately, my father passed away and I was forced to leave and go work to support the family. I'm here to hopefully secure enough money for my mother at home and so I can formally become a true knight."

Sitting back and taking a deep breath, Vincent looked once more at the man and cracked a grin. "Guess you could say I've simply bonded with my blade after so long. How about you, any big reason you're here? Besides the money of course haha."

As the night wore on, Vincent decided he might as well get to know some of his fellow explorers and treasure hunters. Scanning the room he noticed the ragged looking man sitting by himself eating. Calling out to the bar keep for a meal he went over to the man and sat down with him.

"I noticed you're one of the people who've answered the call of treasure." Bowing his head and crossing his arm over his chest he spoke once more, "My name is Vincent Wysman, I've also noticed you're also a man of the sword. How long have you been at it?" Leaning back in the chair Vincent awaited his meal and a response from this new companion.

Batter stood with Hodges as Gyro and Riggs ran towards the dormitories to grab more weapons. Looking over to Hodges he asked "Should we go with them? Or should we try and get the long range comms working?" As the two clones stood in the room, rifle and knife drawn, the lights go out and they are left in darkness. With a dismal voice Batter steps over to Hodges, "Okay, we somehow managed to bite off more than we can chew, and it's only been 3 days."

---------------------------------------------------------

Running through the hallway to the dormitory, Gyro and Riggs can hear what sounds like faint blaster fire coming from Checkpoint Epsilon. As they reach the dorms and attempt to quickly open the door, they hear a small clicking noise, from possibly underneath them, then there is nothing but darkness. A small red light turns on and starts to pulse above each doorway, allowing very little to be seen. Looking into the half open door, they can see the empty dormitory before them.

I'm also wondering if it's possible if Vincent may have met anyone else who is from Eluythus?

Subject: So it begins...

Vincent had always wanted to be a knight, ever since he was a toddler and watched them march through the city streets at parades. He could not believe his ears, when at the age of 7 he was one of the many children called to join the knights order. It was the start of something new, the start of a brand new adventure, the start of his chance to help out his family. For 12 years he would wake up before the rising of the sun, and train until mere moments before the moon replaced the sphere of light in the sky. Many of his teachers were impressed by his devotion to training, and how he still had time to make many friends among the recruits. All of this happiness came crashing down, a year before he would've graduated as a full fledged knight. He received the news of his father's passing in the middle of a training session, and it destroyed him. Thoughts raced through his mind like frightened rabbits, "Who'd take care of mother?" "Who will work to bring home food?" "What will happen to my training?" This was all answered shortly when he was asked to leave the next day, until he could come up with the sufficient funds to return and complete his training. With heavy heart, and fear racing through his mind, Vincent turned his back on the Knight's Training School. Lo and behold, this would not be the end of his story!

Vincent was startled when the children rushed by, holding a piece of parchment, yelling and screaming about treasure hunting. Snatching the parchment and reading, his eyes lit up and a grin spread across his face. "Heristat..." He thought, "I need to get there soon, that 50 gold could be enough to get me back into school, and fend for my mother!" Rushing home, he explained as quickly and coherently what his plan was to his mother as he gathered up his few possessions and the small amount of money that would just barely cover his trip to the small town. Kissing his mother on the forehead and saying goodbye, he rushed out the door to the nearest stable.

City of Heristat

Early Evening on Friday
Marrero 5, 101awd (After Winter Dark)

Vincent stood near the front of the group listening to Mad Dog explain what they were going to do. Scratching at the stubble on his face, he looked around the group and wondered what they might think of him. He himself thought he looked friendly enough, given a bit rough around the edges. He'd been called handsome many times, and been told he had a gift with words. He knew for a fact he was quite muscular, and it showed on his bared forearms. His shortsword hung to his left, and his shield on his back. Though he definitely did not look like a knight, he had the air of one around him. It may have helped that he also had a Bull painted on his shield, and a small sword pendant hung around his neck. He smiled at his fellow adventurer standing nearest to him, then glanced over to the back of the room where the short cloaked person stood at the back. "What an interesting group of people," he thought, "Wonder if they're here for the same reason as me."

With a start Batter fell to floor from his precarious position on his chair. Jumping up immediately and drawing his knife he looked around. "What in the blazes was that!?" Looking at the other troopers from under his visor he dropped into a combat stance.

------------------------------------------------------------

Both Gyro and Riggs jumped to the intercom and radioed the other outposts. Alpha only gave static as they awaited a response. From Epsilon's radio a faint voice can be heard, "We're falling back...... came out of nowhere......... prepare to lock the blast doors............ casualty.........."

After that, only the hiss of static can be heard through the radio. The clones stand in the security room, unsure of what lies outside.

As the music played, and the clones sat around the security room, a voice came over the buzzer. *Attention Security Room, this is Outpost Theta checking in. Everything seems to be normal, like always. Rotation switch in 3 hours... Wait, what's.................*

With an audible swoosh, the mic immediately goes to static. If one were to look at the monitors, all cameras in the Theta sector have completely gone out. Not even static on the screen, just inky blackness on the screen.

A small rumble can be felt coming from the direction of the outpost. Then, silence.
