Subject: Pathfinder: The Runewen Chronicles

Trepus, the jewel of Runewen, the house of the throne. Although the throne has been in the hands of its rightful rulers for almost 2 generations now, there are still signs of damage from the war that scar the city. Crumbled buildings, once paved roads now nothing more then dirt paths. Yet the city still manages to look as beautiful as ever.

Many come to Trepus, whether to seek new fortune, find a better lot in life, or to take on a life of adventure, many flock to the city. Due to this the market place and the Inns are constantly bustling, and the guard ranks swell to keep up with the population. Day in and day out people flood in to and out of the city. Some get lucky and find what they're looking for, others simply move on to less crowded pastures.

For whatever reasons, you five have found yourselves drawn to the city of Trepus. Arriving early in the morning you find yourselves with plenty of free time to meander through the city and explore at your leisure. As evening draws the day to a close, you find yourselves at an Inn called the Brass Cat, a pleasant looking 3 story Inn nestled between a stable and what looks like a house almost the same size as the Inn.

Inside the atmosphere is loud, boisterous and filled with many sights, sounds and smells. Townsfolk and travellers alike share tables and drink, as they talk about recent going ons in the area and the land as a whole. Many barmaids rush to and fro taking orders, delivering drinks and food, and trying to avoid some of the more rowdy patrons. The Brass Cat even lives up to it's name as you spy a small statuette of a cat on the mantle of a large fireplace in the back of the room. The night is yours and you have yet to find work from the city, but now is not the time to worry about that, now is the time to unwind and relax from your long journey to the jewel of Runewen.

((OOC: I know some of you are still discussing how characters met, if they've met, etc. Feel free to post as you see fit, if you want to describe how you came to Trepus, definitely what you do during the day after you arrived, and up to the present as to what you do here in the Brass Cat. Posting is now open!))

Subject: Pathfinder: The Runewen Chronicles Q&A

First off, an important blurb from the first game I ran!

The game is taking place in a world I'm developing and the country you're currently in is called Runewen, a mountainous and forested region. It's considered one of the more peaceful countries/kingdoms in the world. Well known for it's Griffin mounts and it's order of Grey Wardens whom hunt down Necromancers and other unsavoury individuals who are involved with the undead. Erastil is the main god of the region, other churches for different gods are welcome and not frowned upon. King Chester Runewen XII rules the kingdom as his father and grandfather did before him. Well loved by his people and well known for his interest in magical artifacts, he is well on his way to being as famous as his grandfather King Loghain, whom rescued the Runewen throne from a coup that cost the family the throne for two generations.

The game will be starting this time around in the Capitol City, Trepus. I'll have a map uploaded as well to help show where everything is located. Being level 3 you are quite a standard group adventurers, not sticking out anymore then the many other groups and even companies that compete for the same jobs you search for. I do have an over-arching story that will be in play but this particular game will have some more freedom on you, the players end.

Any and all questions can be posted here or directed towards me. Once I have all the character sheets in my possession I will start the game thread and you can all start posting.

EDIT: Here is the
map of Runewen. The red blip is Trepus, where you are now. Previous players of the Runewen setting, that little mountain village faaaaar to the East is good old Dalhurst! There are more towns and small hamlets and such but I only placed the largest or most important/landmarky places on the map, same with roads and rivers, those are the largest.

Sukini raises her head, pushing herself groggily up off the ground. Muttering to herself, she looks around realizing doesn't know where she is or who she's with, although they appear to be as dazed and confused as her. Peering ahead in to the darkness, she tried to pinpoint anything other then the glowing crystals sticking from the walls. "A little dark in here, can't see a damn thing. Maybe one of these people know why we're here."

Before having the chance to speak to anyone else in the room a loud THUD breaks her train of thought. Another one follows, and another, each one growing closer and closer to the group. The next thing Sukini knows a huge beast, larger then anything she's seen, is charging towards her from the darkness. A terribly large thing, with fluorescent blue eyes, and horns as large as her. Time slows as the beast's hulking form connects with her body and a sickening crunch rings throughout her head.

She can feel a rush of wind, followed by something hard and malformed against her back. Her eyes widen in shock and pain, mouth agape, gasping for breath. The limp form of the Viera slumps over against the wall. She tries to raise her hand, to call for help, but nothing moves, nothing works. "Damnit, I'm going to die here aren't I.... This is what it feels like..." Sukini can hear the beast let out a terrible roar, but it sound so far away. Everything starts to go gray as she lies slumped against the wall. "Maybe I can close my eyes... Maybe this is all a bad dream.... Maybe..." Unable to finish her thought, Sukini's eyes drift close as the battle in front of her continues on.

Well I feel like a one-trick pony saying this but anyone interested in a Pathfinder game? I have quite a bit of free time and am only involved in one game at the moment. If anyone is interested in joining just let me know. I'm going with my standard start of level 3, 20 point buy, 3000g + class base wealth (Eg Fighter avg would be 3175g), and feel free to use anything Pathfinder related, all 3rd party must come through me first if you desire to use it. Party size of 4-5 would be amazing.

Now as for setting I had a really good start with my last game way back when in a world I was creating. The game will be taking place in there and once I find that thread again I'll update this with some of the info I posted on that world. I'm also updating some stuff on the world so a map will be posted once I have it finished. Look forward to hearing from you!

Thanks guys for the welcome back! The Inn is certainly quieter since I was last here. I may be spotty the next few days I'm moving homes in exactly 12 hours from the moment I posted this. It'll be an adventure all in its own! If none of my games get going again I may start a new one or look for one to join!

"Travelling far from his homeland, facing challenges of all kind, the mighty Kamina makes his triumphant return to his home away from home. Throwing a stained and tattered cape over his shoulders he strides in to the Inn."

Well I've returned, the past few months have been crazy, but I finally managed to rein it in and balance everything out. I'm greatly looking forward to returning to an active state on the Inn and hope to reconnect with everyone once more!

Life has recently been flipped on it's head for me. My personal life, college life, and work life are all in need of a readjustment, as is my head. I don't know when I'll be back but for now I must take my leave and power through these troubles I've brought on to myself. I'll always have fond memories of the inn and I'll use these memories to make myself stronger in the future. Apologies to GM's and Players alike in games I am part of.

"Reject common sense and make the impossible possible!" ... And that's exactly what I plan on doing. Farewell for now.

With haste the party organized themselves in the main room of the The Grey Leg Inn, the Half-Orc stood ready and waiting by the door. Even without armour on, and only wielding his axe and shield, it was obvious Pynn knew what he was doing. ,font color="black">"Come on everyone, I'll take you to the gate. Hopefully it's just a small group this time around." Opening the door, Pynn turned and took off at a jog in to the rain soaked night.

The party followed Pynn through the muddy streets and the pouring rain until they came upon the western gate. Almost a dozen guards were nearby, some bracing their shoulders against the gate, others standing with spears and halberds at the ready. "Pynn! Get your arse over here and help us out! There's twice as many as them as us out there tonight!!" As Pynn ran over to the gate, one of the guards motioned for you to come to him. "Glad to see some more bodies that can help us fend these retched creatures off. Sergeant Jessop's the name. Come with me, I'm going to need all of you to help clear the scragglers who drifted around the walls."

As you followed Sergeant Jessop to the Eastern gate he explained how for the past three months Dalhurst has had no contact with the outside world, and everytime they tried their messenger would vanish in the mountains. It was only the past two months where the undead started to show up and attack the small town. "I'm sure you've probably been told all of this by the mayor but it still boggles us. No one knows how this happened and the mayor thinks it has something to do with the wizard who lived here long ago. Anyways enough rambling, you need to help me clean these undead off my walls." A couple of guards opened the eastern gate for you, and the moment everyone was outside the gates slammed shut once more. With nothing but dim torchlight from the walls, Sergeant Jessop starts to lead you to the first group of wandering undead.

This is true, and I've talked with both Chessic and SilentOne. I'm going to NPC both characters for a bit and then they will seperate from the party until at a possible later date when both can rejoin.

It just came to me now, but one thing that I've found that seems to be quite fickle is the Thread Subscribe option. I had that going on a few of my game threads and it only worked for about two weeks before it started to stop. It'd always be nice to see that fixed up and working again.
