Topic: WANTED: NEW GAME TO PLAY
Subject: WANTED: NEW GAME TO PLAY

I swear I might be going through a withdrawal of roleplaying. As my WoD game is on Hiatus and SWIM has sunk (hehe), I've been reduced to 2 active and 1 partially active games.

Is anyone looking to start a new game, or has a game I could possibly join in on? I'll be keeping an eye out!

I'd be willing to play either Star Wars or Pathfinder.

Calling moved to the side of the road as the wagon passed, taking note of the crossbow on the man's lap. Looking up ahead, he noticed Tora talking to Anthony about something. Once she turned back and smiled towards him and he returned the gesture. As she turned back to Anthony, Callin took to looking around the country side. He tried to keep his distance from both the knight and cleric. It wasn't that he disliked them, it was that they probably didn't appreciate his company on the adventure.

As they rode on, Callin couldn't help but readjust himself every hour. Even though Tora had shown him how to sit comfortably he still disliked being in a saddle. Callin had never really liked horses, he preferred moving on foot. Many people would complain about having to carry their supplies, or that it would take longer. He could care less. As far as he was concerned, it just meant he could carry less and get around more nimbly in times of danger. Sighing Callin once again adjusted himself as the town of Mandala came into view on the horizon.

Gyro's fingers tapped away at the computers as he attempted to understand their insistent blaring. As time ticked on, and the other clone panicked, understanding dawned upon Gyro. The alarms were going off about a severe lack of oxygen in the outposts Theta, Alpha, and Epsilon. Looking over the computer screens, the data continued to pump out information. Lack of oxygen, severe damage to structure, and most disturbing of all, no signs of life. Finally Gyro managed to silent the alarms, though the data from the computer still soaked into his mind.

As Slade threw the blaster to the side, he stood up and stepped out of the wreckage. Riggs on the other hand, got down on his knees and started sifting through the droids bodies searching for anything of use. All he found that was of any use were the power packs from the droid's blasters. The rest, as far as he was concerned, was just scrap. As this happened, Hodges left Batter in the medical room to see Riggs as he dug through the droids.

As they rode out of the castle grounds Callin couldn't help but feel uncomfortable. He had never ridden a horse before, he much preferred sneaking around in the dark on foot. He shifted into a different position and sat the best he could until he noticed Tora drop pace beside him. He couldn't help but notice her beaming grin and the mischievous light in her eyes causing him to smile as well.

"You hating that saddle already Cal'? ...here." she leaned over towards him and pulled his knee closer to the front of his saddle stirrup. "Sit like that and try and sit straight with out sitting like yer' got a sit up 'ur arse, an try and relax, you stay like that you want be able to walk let stand by the time we get to Mandala"

As Tora rode ahead towards the Cleric, Callin noticed he felt a lot more comfortable in his saddle. "Thanks Tora, feels a lot better!"

While Tora talked to the Cleric, he couldn't help but notice a rancid smell coming from the mule ahead of him. Callin pulled his cloak's hood around his mouth and nose to block out the smell. "Olidammara this was not the kind of luck I prayed for..." Callin looked up to the sky and sighed, hoping the ride would end soon.

The happiness raised through her game of tag was quickly dampened as Nia realized the swamps were between them and their destination. "This will be soooo much fun."

Nia spent much of the trip either stepping in Kal'Ars' pawprints, or balancing on any fallen logs, large plants, or rocks she could find. Getting her hands dirty was never a problem, but falling face first in mud, that was a MAJOR problem. It wasn't just the mud in the swamps that bothered Nia either, it was the eerie quiet that pervaded the area. No birds, no animals, no bugs... Nothing. Her usual boisterous personality had been replaced with a more quiet, cautious one, as they tread through the swampland. She kept one hand on her blade at all times, just to be safe.

Tk finally caught up to the battle just as it ended, and just as the merc ran off after one of the droids. "Sorry I'm late sir." He stated to Cam. "Not too use to running, I prefer piloting myself." Saluting to his Sergeant he stepped back to let him and the Corporal talk.

As he stood he shot a glare from under his helmet at Linopas as he spoke out of line. "Well, mister, I know I'd be more than happy to join you and your leftover guys, as long as I can take wee F8 along with me. Seeing as I'm not the de-facto leader of this little posse, however, I guess the real decision lies in Cam here." Tk watched as he grinned and turned to Cam. "Well, sergeant?"

"Great..." Tk thought, "We got put with the disrespectful group." Digging his heel into the dirt, Tk waited for Cam's decision on what the group would do.

Batter didn't look up from the trooper as Hodges spoke. "Will he be able to walk or fight?"
"Fighting is not an option for him. As for walking, he may need some help with that, he's taken a serious injury to his side and seems to be unconscious due to pain." Shaking his head, Batter reached into the opened medpac beside him and started searching for something to wake the trooper with.
---------------------------------------------------

In the security room Gyro was greeted with a cacophony of alarms as consoles started flashing rapidly. The clone who was still with him stifled a yelp as he jumped back from one of the consoles near him. "This can't be good, this can't be good at all! Help me shut these things off before the droids hear them!!" The clone started to let panic creep into his voice as he ran back and forth between consoles trying to quiet them.
----------------------------------------------------

Riggs and Slade stood alone in the corridors, surrounded by scrap metal. Walking towards the intersection, Slade kicked a droid's head out of the way. "That was awfully easy don't you think?" Bending down he grabbed one of the blasters laying on the ground and looked it over. "Bet you these hunks of junk are what got them scrapped by us." He tossed the blaster aside and started sifting through the fallen droids surrounding him.

Callin didn't flinch, or stop his task of looking over the pack mule as the voice came up behind him. “Master Callin, I presume, Lady Tor, mentioned you would be accompanying us on our quest. Can I trust you to protect the princess’ life with your very own should it be needed?” Steeling his voice at the jab of his trustworthiness Callin spoke. "You can trust I'd put my life on the line to protect Lady Tora. I'll make sure she's safe." Tightening a few straps he grunted in approval as the knight spoke once more. “I believe you will find your horse saddled and ready to ride.”
--------------------------------
As he prayed to Olidammara he raised an eyebrow as something was pushed into his hands. He opened one eye slightly to see Tora as she spoke. "Here, I already ate." As she moved off he couldn't help but grin. Tora was always making sure he ate when they were together. He'd always joke that's what kept him coming back. He sat in the saddle content to eat his newfound meal in the early morning sun.
-------------------------------------
Eating his sandwich, Callin payed little attention to the announcement of the Duke's arrival. The only thing he really noticed was the disapproving stare from the Duke as he ate. Calling turned his head and looked off down the road as the Duke continued to speak. It wasn't until he heard “Now go on all of you, and may the gods speed you on your way.” and saw Tora lead her horse and pack mule out of the courtyard. He fell into line behind the Cleric. As they filed out of the courtyard he started humming to himself and wondered how long the journey would take.

Subject: Callin's Entrance

Prolouge:

Callin had always had a knack for getting into trouble. Being raised in the shadows of night had that affect on people. He was always finding ways to get into places he didn't belong. It was no surprise to him when he was caught sneaking around the castle one night, the surprise was who he was caught by. Lady Ravenwindhaven II, Princess of The Duchy of Richmond. This is the point most thieves would have their careers end, being caught by a member of the royal family. Luckily for Callin, Tora, as he came to call her, wasn't a normal princess. Like him, she loved adventure and excitement. As the next few years would show, this was just the beggining of an odd but exciting friendship for the both of them. Every night Callin would come to the castle, and every night he would show Tora something new of the night life he lived. Of course for Callin, this would lead to his infatuation with the Princess. He hoped she never noticed the way he'd stare in the moonlight, or how sometimes he'd stumble over his words talking to her. The last thing he'd want is for their friendship to be ruined. So he hid his emotions, always playing as Tora's friend in the dark. The day would come though where she requested him to help her on a quest she had taken from her father. Callin leapt at the oppurtunity to travel with Tora, though he never realized he'd end up meeting her Advisor and Instructor. The day for departure finally came, steeling himself for the cold morning Callin made his way to the meeting point of the party.

Present:

Callin stood off to the side of the road, arms crossed, as he stared at Tora's Advisor, a Cleric of Pelor, and her Instructor, an older man whom looked like a knight of the castle. "Great" He thought to himself "These two are are just going to love me." Looking over towards Tora he couldn't help but let a smirk slip onto his face. "I wonder if she has told them anything about me? Probably not, I'm not really someone she should associate with anyways..." Callin stretched his arms above his head and grimaced a bit as the Cleric started reciting some sort of prayer to his god. Shaking his head, he walked over to the horse he had been given and made sure the saddle was put on properly. He moved onto the pack mule and made sure all his gear was placed where he liked it. Looking about the various packs, he grabbed his crossbow, some of it's bolts, and a dagger. He slung the crossbow and bolts onto his back, and slid the dagger into his boot before hopping onto his horse to wait for the others. Murmuring to himself, he made a quick prayer to Olidammara for luck on his journey.

The party: The newly formed and reunited group stood at the base of the Ferris Wheel being pressed together from the large crowds around them. Tiffany's question hung in the air unanswered as the sisters Lore and Amera regained their composure, and David made sure his daughter was okay. Looking to the night sky, they could notice it was darker then it normally would be. Anyone checking their watches noticed it was only 9:00pm, a strange time to be so dark out.

"ATTENTION LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, WE'D LIKE YOU TO KNOW OUR SPECIAL FREAK SHOW SHALL BE STARTING IN 15 MINUTES. MAKE SURE TO COME TO THE BIG TENT IN THE CENTER OF THE PARK AND PARTAKE IN THE FESTIVITIES!"

Slightly startled from the overly loud voice that sprang from the loudspeakers spread throughout the park, the party noticed many people seemed to be almost fighting their way through the crowds to get to the center of the carnival. As they observed the oddities around them, a large man dressed in all black stepped up behind Amera and whispered quietly enough only she could hear "Tick, Tock." into her ear. As he slipped away into the crowd, the others looked back to see Amera visibly shaken by something, but they were unsure what.

Hodges, continuing with his movement, pulled his blaster rifle up to the B1 in front of him and blasted it's head clean off as he side stepped away and sealed his armor. [15 rolled on attack. 15 damage]

Slade instantly dropped to one knee and turned towards the remaining droid and fired. Grinning under his helmet, he sealed his armor as well as the last B1 collapsed to the ground, a gaping hole in the side of its chest. [20 rolled on attack. 19 damage]

Riggs stepped back against a wall and sealed his armor as he watched the final two droids drop to the ground.

Gyro, panicked over the impending suffocation of him and his team, jumped to his feet and rushed into the security room to search for the emergency seals. As soon as he stepped in the room he noticed the button on the underside of one of the consoles. Sprinting over broke the glass covering it and slammed the big red button down. [21 rolled on perception.]

-----------------------------------------------------
As the others stood in the corridors, they watched as the hole in the roof began to close as an emergency seals kicked into place. As quick as the violence and noise came, it had gone. A quiet 'woosh' and footsteps were the only thing to be heard as Batter stepped out of the Med-Bay. Looking at the destruction in the center of the corridors he pat Riggs on the back. "Looks like you guys bought us some time. If you don't mind I have a wounded trooper to tend to."

David, Lore, Tiffany: The trio pushed their way through the crowds of people as they fought towards the Ferris Wheel holding Amera. David's mind raced, hoping that Jade would be with his past client, she'd be much safer with her than anyone else.

Tiffany and Lore kept pace behind David as he led the way through the crowds. Though it didn't look far away, it felt like hours were passing as they raced forwards. Slowly they all tired of running, but managed to pull on their inner strength and keep going.

After what felt like a millenia, the trio finally arrived at the Ferris Wheel to see Amera and Jade stepping off of a cart. Jade, suprised and joyous to see her father, rushed towards him and jumped into his arms, smiling as she noticed Tiffany. Amera smiled at the site until she was knocked back by the force of her sister's fist against her jaw. She didn't have time to recover from the shock as she was embraced by her sister just as quickly as she had been hit.

I'm not sure about everyone else, but I consider myself from the NES Generation as I grew up playing on the Nintendo and Super Nintendo for quite a while. The music from those games always made me happy, even though they were only chiptune or of poor audio quality being from 8-bit and 16-bit games.

Well I just so happened to stumble across a fantastic NES Gen music artist! His Youtube name is Brentalfloss and he is well known for making music videos with lyrics that match the beat of classic NES and SNES games such as Super Mario and Legend of Zelda. He has his own website with some amazing samples of music he created his self. Just head on over here to check it out if you enjoy some classic NES music!

EDIT: His Youtube account is here if you want to check out his lyrical videos!

Sitting on the roof, Nia waited for her friends to exit the inn. She crouches down as she hears the door opens and peaks over the lip of the building to make sure it's her friends and not an innocent person.

Grinning as the Ronso and Nu Mou come into view, Nia picks out two smooth pebbles from her collection and takes aim.

"TAG!" With a laugh, Nia tosses both of the pebbles to her friends and turns to climb down the other side of the building and start running.

"Games always wake people up~" she thought to herself as she ran towards the town gate hoping that the others would follow.

Standing up after Kal'Ar, Nia stretched and yawned. "Well if this is all we got to go on, might as well get going!"

Slipping past the large Ronso, and not waiting for the Nu Mou that was still sitting and went straight for the door. As she opened it she called back to the others "Well hurry up, before someone does the job for us!" and promptly stepped outside letting the door fall shut behind her.

Standing outside, a small grin crossed Nia's face. Turning back to the Inn, she looked for any handholds and started climbing to the roof, taking care not to cover any windows. Once on top of the roof, Nia sat down and pulled some pebbles out of one of her bags. Humming to herself, she waited for the others to walk outside.

David, Lore, Tiffany: As David lost himself in thought trying to figure out where Jade could have gone and Tiffany brushed her self off, Lore grabbed both of their attentions as she pointed to a flickering light high upon the ferris wheel. “David… does that look like.. fire?”

As Lore spoke, others nearby started pointing and whispering about the strange sight.

Amera & Jade: While sitting atop the Ferris Wheel, Amera failed to notice that her and Jade had been stopped at the peak of their ride, transfixed in the warm glow of the fire. Jade, scared of the flame and the height they were at, grabbed tightly onto Amera's arm and tried not to cry.
