Subject: Adventure!

Tralen laughed as the man who he now knew as Assal mentioned danger. "My dear friend Assal, to be a renowned Bard like me you have to get yourself into danger quite a bit."

Grabbing another ale as it was put on the counter, Tralen downed half of it and laughed heartily. Looking at Assal, then back to the robed woman he smiled. "Hey Assal, if you're so worried, why don't we ask our female friend over here. She seems like one who can defend herself. That Kobold over there... Tralen pointed to the kobold for Assal. "I bet he would love to join us as well!"

Tralen downed the rest of his ale and started to laugh again. This caused many of the patrons to stare in the Half-Orcs general direction.

Tralen stared at the man, then looked him up and down before smiling again. "Oh I see, are you perhaps of noble birthright? I seem to recall a certain rumour that floated past my travels. Grinning mishievously, he stared the man straight in the eye.

"Tell you what, give me your name, allow me to adventure with you, let me have a few more drinks, and I'll gladly tell you where I last heard this blade you hold so dear is being held. Tralen finished off his ale in one gulp and placed the Tankard back down not to quietly.

"So what do you say? Will you let an old bard adventure with you? I do more than sing. With that Tralen smiled and it seemed like a fire was burning within his old eyes.

Tralen stared back at the man as he asked his question. His expression changed to that of mishcief as he smiled once more.

"Ahh, I see then. You're one of the adventuring types. Tralen took another drink from his ale and then stared up towards the roof, lost in thought for a few minutes.

Looking back to the man, and then turning his head to the door, Tralen sighed. "I may have heard of a blade called by that name, but that was so long ago. Maybe an adventure to those parts would help jog my memory. Why do you need such a blade, a strong adventurer like yourself? Tralen stared at the mud-splattered man with a questioning look

Looking over to the man in muddy platemail after taking a drought of his ale Tralen smiled.

"I'm glad you enjoyed the performance my good friend. And yes, I have travelled quite a bit, surely you have heard of Tralen the Bard in your own travels?"

Tralen sat staring at the man with a somewhat hurt looking expression upon his face.

Subject: On the Road- By Darren, I thank him a lot for helping me!

Stepping up on to the stage, Tralen pulled a stool into the centre and sat down. Looking up the crowd as he tuned his Lute one last time he spoke. "This is a song of my travels, starting from Artor and ending here at this very Inn. I hope you all enjoy. Smiling and closing his eyes, Tralen started plucking at his Lute, creating a soft, flowing melody throughout the Inn.

On the road again,
Oh, all the places I've been,
On the road again,
Let me tell you what I've seen,

Oh, in a tavern in Artor,
I met a nice young farmer lass,
She sold her oranges, melons too,
And she was full of guile and sass,

On the road again,
Oh, all the places I've been,
On the road again,
Let me tell you what I've seen,

In Palantir I met a bard,
One such as myself, you see,
Though I dare say that my singing voice,
be much better than that of he,

On the road again,
Oh, all the places I've been,
On the road again,
Let me tell you what I've seen,

In Drefast once I saw a troll,
Who spoke words as I to you, and more,
Though I be not as strong, or brave,
Eloquent enough am I, and not a bore,

On the road again,
Oh, all the places I've been,
On the road again,
Let me tell you what I've seen,

In Calestra fair I met a girl,
Taller than the tallest spire,
And when I asked her how it was,
She laughed, and breathed some fire!

On the road again,
Oh, all the places I've been,
On the road again,
Let me tell you what I've seen,

In the Bleeding Lute I met some folks,
As strange as strange can be,
Hopefully, once they've heard my song,
They'll buy a drink for me!

Standing up, Tralen took a bow, then promptly exited the stage not waiting for the crowds reaction. He was confident enough in his own abilities and believed they would enjoy true art if they heard it. Smiling wider than normal he walked back up to the bar and took a seat beside the cloaked woman and the man in mud-splattered plate.

"One ale please. Looking towards them as he slid the coins for the ale onto the counter he let out a laugh. "So, what did ya think?"

Subject: A Kobold interruption

Tralen was greeted by a strange sight as he reached the bottom of the stairs. A Kobold, but not a normal one at all. This one seemed to be wearing full plate mail, carrying a shield much to large for him and a scimitar hung by his side. Then the question he received, "Good evening. I'm Aquascales, a Paladin of Bahamut. And you are?"

"Good evening to you as well, Aquascales... I am Tralen, a travelling Maestro of sorts. Taking a bow, Tralen smiled once more. He stared down at the Kobold, looking up he noticed the two others who had entered the Inn while he was in his room. "Seems more interesting folks have joined us." Lute in hand, Tralen bowed to the Kobold then turned towards the stage.

As he started walking, he looked back to the Kobold. "I'd enjoy talking more, maybe after my performance?

Subject: Tuning up

Tralen sat on the bed and laid his instruments out beside him. Looking at them, he decided that he shall use his lute tonight; It seemed fitting considering the name of the Inn.

Picking up the lute, he set in his lap and started tuning the strings. As he finished this he picked it up and played a quick little tune, something he learned from a human bard along the road.

"Hmph, seems my magic fingers still got it. Now what song shall I sing tonight... Maybe just play a melody?"

Tralen lost himself in thought for the next hour before getting up and stretching. "Well enough lollygagging, let's show these townsfolk a true Maestro!" He held the lute firmly in his hands and put on a grin as he started down the stairs.

The old man looked up at the man calling himself Reginald, as well as a wizard. "Morning Reginald, anything you'd like for breakfast? As for work for your kind, none that I could tell you of. Daret is a quiet town, we don't got much use for magic round these parts."

With that, Gronk sat down behind the bar and pulled out his pipe, lit it, and then sat waiting for a response.

While all this was happening a couple of farmers came in and took a seat at one of the tables. They looked dirty, and tired, and were quietly whispering to each other.

Tralen's eyes lit up at the response of the young woman, and he grinned again as he picked out some of her features under that dark hood.

"Ah well, if you're paying for your own food I highly recommend the Mutton Pastry, it is simply marvelous!" Reaching into his back pocket, Tralen pulled out a rolled up paper, then produced a quill from within his sleeve. Flashing another smile at the young woman he unrolled the parchment revealing a large list of different foods and locations.

"You see I am more than just a bard, I'm also somewhat of a travelling gourmet." He quickly scribbled down the name of the dish and beside it, wrote the name of the Inn. With a flick of the wrist, the quill vanished back into his sleeve, and he started to roll the parchment back up. Looking back to the woman Tralen smiled once more. "I would just love to learn more about you, maybe write a song about your adventures. But I must retire to my room for awhile and prepare a performance. May we speak again soon M'lady."

After standing up and bowing to the woman, Tralen took the key to his room and started up the stairs as he let his mind wander on to the theme of tonights performance.

"Ahh, good morning Myirh." Gronk smiled as the angry half-orc woman sat down at the bar.

"Booze me."

Gronk let out a hearty laugh at this before grabbing a tankard from below the counter and filling it the brim with some good old-fashioned Ale. "So Myirh, what are your plans today? Not getting into another fight I hope." Gronk winked at Myirh as he set the tankard down in front of her.

I find it a lot more fun when my parties don't have healers, or rogues My group learned that the hard way last week when they couldn't disarm the traps or heal in the middle of a boss fight... Anyways, who knows. I could be generous and give you all an NPC, or you can tough it out

Tralen turned his towards the newcomer who sat down at the bar as well. Looking the stranger over he noticed the longsword hidden under the cape, and the dark leather armour protecting, what he now noticed, a possibly young female. Now where did she come from, I never saw her on the road on the way here. Taking a bite out of the pastry as it arrived, Tralen's eyes lit up with the glee of a child lost in a candy store.

"Oh my!! Simply magnificent! Simply delicious! Swooning himself over to the newcomer, he sat down beside her. "Barkeep, get an order of this lovely pastry for this young woman here, she must be famished after a long journey! Ale just won't be enough to fill her up!

Smiling at the odd woman Tralen held out his hand towards her, offering to shake her hand. "My young lady, you must be so brave as to travel these lands armed with a simple longsword, oh yes, yes! Much more brave then poor Tralen. Still holding out his hand, Tralen stood up and bowed to the lady. "Pardon my intrusion but I must simply learn more about you! I could write a song in the honour of one so brave as yourself!

Continent of Antora-1st Era-Month of The Falling Star
Just outside Port Natale

Generals Gairhime, Thorik, and Glenwing sat atop their horses staring out over the army amassed before them. It has finally come to something like this, to end the war between Humans, Dwarves and Elves. After so many years of fighting, ignoring the obvious threat at the doors of Antora, it has come to this. The three shared solemn glances before returning their stares once more to the army before them. Ahead of the mixed army of Humans, Dwarves, and Elves, stood the horde of monstrosities. Standing in front of the opposing army were many horrid looking creatures, Liches of legend it seems. Suddenly a war horn blew, and the monstrosities charged towards the Generals' army. The thunderous clash of the two armies was deafening and could be heard even in the quiet forests of Snowfall and the Mountains of Kahlrog.

-3 Days into battle-General Thorik (Port Natale)

"Glenwing!! Get our backs!" Thorik snarled towards the Elf. "Me and Gairhime can't take on all the undead freaks ourselves!" With a guttural roar, Thorik swung his hammer down crushing the knees of the skeleton in front of him. If it keeps going like this more than just us 3 will fall today Glaring towards the horde of undead in front of him, Thorik roared in anger and charged at them, Hammer raised.....

-1 Week into Battle-General Gelnwing (Plains of Antora)

It's been 4 days since Thorik fell to the undead. Me and Gairhime still have most of the army but we've fallen back to the plains. This is most unfortunate. Turning his head, Glenwing could see the dark cloud of destruction drawing ever closer. "Gairhime, we must devise a plan if we are to push them back to the gates they came from. Sighing, Glenwing spurred his horse onward to the tent of the Archmage. We must end this war soon, or we surely shall lose. A grim look upon his face, Glenwing spurred his horse to sprint faster...

-3 Weeks into Battle-General Gairhime (Stonewall Keep)

Come on men! Hold the gates! We end this now! Gairhime raised his sword into the air and recieved a large war cry from the remaining troops of the army. FOR THORIK, FOR GLENWING, FOR ANTORA! Girhaime dropped his sword arm and pointed at the undead army from atop the Keep wall. Suddenly Lighting split the sky and slammed into the centre of the horde. With a roar of thunder, lightning started to fall from the sky, striking the undead horde over and over. Open the gates! Chaaaaarrrggggeeee!!! With renewed vigor, the remains of the 3 Generals Army surged out of the keep to take on the remains of the horde. Leaning against the wall of the keep, Gairhime slipped down and sat in the muddy ground. Staring up into the sky he felt a raindrop hit his nose. We finally did Glenwing, Thorik. We defeated the horde and can finally rest. Closing his eyes for one final time, Gairhime plastered a smile on his face before finally letting out his final breath.

Continent of Antora-3rd Era-Month of The Harvest-
Town of Daret

The Old Innkeeper Gronk sat outside in the morning sun smoking his pipe. Putting away his book, he stood up and stretched. Walking back to the Rusty Bucket, he mumbled a good morning to some of the farmers heading out to work. After a few minutes of walking, he finally arrived at his home and work. Opening the door to the small group of regular customers he stood aside. Once in the Inn he started his usual routine of starting the fire, cleaning the tables and bar counters, and finally starting the breakfast for those who've spent the night.

-Here is the opening post, you can either be just coming across Daret and the Rusty Bucket or have spent the night before. Take what you will from the intro story and enjoy your adventures in Antora!
