Well after Thursday Night and the Early games, I'm currently 7-2 so far. Damn them Cowboys.  And the Lions once more snatch Defeat from the Jaws of Victory!

Looks like everyone is in agreement and we have a plan. I think we should be able to pull this off without too much fuss. I mean if the GM killed us on the 1st encounter, it would be the shortest Adventure in history.

Máiréad listened to the others as they spoke of what they could and couldn't do. Having travelled with them for almost a year now, she sort of knew their strengths and weaknesses. After hearing them out, she nodded and turned from watching the fire bugs below.
"Ok listen," she whispered, "these things don't seem to have heard us or the noise of Lum's entrance." She offered Lum a smile to show that she meant nothing by it.
"I think we have the surprise in that they don't know we are here," she went on, "so I say we take advantage of that. The light down there illuminates them brightly, but gives us the shadows. If we sneak down the stairs without our lights, treading carefully, we should be able to sneak up and get close enough that we can surprise them."
"We move down staying towards the middle of the chamber," She gestured with one hand, "spreading out a little so we won't all get caught if they release their fire at us. Maybe Tomiki to the left and Lum to the right, with Ry and I towards the middle. But stay within range so that I can heal all of us if needed."
They would know by now how Máiréad operated in battle; she would stay within 10 yards of everyone, when room provided, and use her healing aura to heal all of them during combat. She would bless them, or rather the Spirits would, just before battle, then she would stay just behind them but close enough so she could assist in keeping them alive. They all knew she didn't have much in Offensive magic and what she did have was more for escape or defense. It was in their best interests to make sure that she stayed out of harm's way, so that she could keep them alive.
"Ry," she continued, "you have your lightning. Once we are within range you could ‘zap' them both and then hopefully while they are stunned, Lum and Tomiki could rush in and do what they do." She grinned a little. Normally she didn't like watching them hack up things, but these creatures were not ‘living' things in her opinion. Someone had created them and it was time someone ‘un-created' them.
"Ry will support you with his magic," she finished up, "I will stay back as usual and heal you if you get hurt."
"What do you think?" She asked and looked at all of them questioningly.
(OOC: She has already cast Stone Cloak on herself; If we go with this plan then she will cast Hero's Might on the entire party as they move down the stairs, maybe at the bottom.)

ah, let me think.
Female, of course, and maybe some kind of tech person, you know helps build or design things to destroy the evil, horrible things in the world.
I too prefer the RP oriented game, a lot of combat constantly would definitely turn me off. I mean it is ok when needed but I don't want every situation be a struggle for survival.

She says that the Spirits taught her the Ancient Saurian and the Darkspawn languages. The orc she learned over the last year from talking and working with Lum. (I assume Ody is ok with that. )
I plan to put up another post tonight stating her suggestions for their plan to assault the bugs, and to state ‘Officially' what she will do in battle.

As for the languages, could Mairead know ASE? Is it possibly something she learned or maybe the Ancient Saurian Spirits taught her.
As for combat. Mariead cast Stone cloak on herself while they were planning. Then she will cast the Hero's might on the party before they get to attacking the bugs, maybe as they move down the stairs.
During combat, she would stay out of the way and firing arcs of the bugs and would wait to heal when needed. If one person is seriously hurt, she would try to touch heal them; if several are hurt she would use her healing aura on those that need it. Moving, she tries to stay mobile yet within healing range,

USS Peregrine; Crew Quarters, Deck 3 - 1905
Crewman Amy Wren walked into her quarter's common area and stopped dead in her tracks. The common area, which was shared by the 4 enlisted personnel that occupied to two bedrooms in these quarters, was a shambles. The furniture, chairs, desks, etc., had all been moved to the back of the room and piled high against it. A pair of short, bare legs were sticking out of the ventilation shaft located in the back wall near the ceiling. The legs were wiggling wildly in the air and muffled grunts could be heard coming from the vent.
"Damn," a muffled voice came from the shaft.
Amy moved closer recognizing the voice as her new roommate, Crewman Sandra Reynolds, a newly acquired nurse that had come aboard at SB118. She was at a loss as to why Sandra would be stuck in a ventilation shaft in the middle of the night.
"Sandra?" Amy asked as she moved up to where the ‘pile' of furniture began.
"Amy?"
"Yeah," Amy went on, "what are you doing in the ventilation shaft?"
"Ah.. well," Sandra began as the legs stopped their struggles, "there was a noise you see. I traced it to the ceiling but I couldn't get at it there so I thought I might be able to find it if I could just get in there. This ventilation shaft seemed to be close but, well, I got stuck." Her feet wiggled a little as if to illustrate the point. Crewman Reynolds was a small slim woman but the shaft wasn't much bigger than her, and was designed for air and not a human being.
"Do you want me to help you down?" Amy asked as she tried to restrain a chuckle.
"Yes please," Sandra said with an embarrassed tone.
After a few minutes of struggling and pulling, Sandra popped free and slides back down into the room. She her face was flushed, rather from her struggles or embarrassment it wasn't clear.
"Thanks!"
"Well we aren't done yet," Amy said as she inclined her head towards the furniture piled up, "Come on, I'll help you put all this back."
The two of them got to putting all the furniture back where it belonged. Sandra managed to laugh at her ridiculous situation and was glad that her roommate wasn't angry with her for causing all this trouble. She thought that she and Amy might just get along well. It had been a hell of a first 24 hrs.

Also, I'm not sure the heads on the map are exactly as the bugs are positioned, we might want to ask the DM to clarify.

My thoughts are similar. I like the part about Lum and Ry moving close along one wall, and then Ninja-boy can move up the other side and once the lightning strikes, the two sword swingers can do what they do best.
Now as to Mairead sneaking up behind them, I don't see her doing that. To go to the door and possibly there be more of them things come out or to get separated from the group? Besides I think we need to kill these things. We can't run from everything, I don't like the idea of leaving these things behind us and cutting off our only known way out.
No, she would rather stay mobile where she can aid whichever party member she needs to with her heals. She can heal by touch and has a healing aura which works on all allies within 10 yards.
Question for DM: without our flashlights, would there be sufficient illumination from the light and the firebugs, to move down the stairs slowly and make our way closer to the bugs without them spotting us?

Tann, a slight error I noticed in the results; in the totals you have Bannix as 12 pts, which is correct as he had the exact picks that I did, but in the weekly totals for him you have 10 pts. I'm sure it has nothing to do with you two being friends/rivals.

I'm unsure how this works. I know that in my post I said that my character was casting Stone Cloak on herself, while we were watching the bugs and discussing strategy. I also mentioned that the first thing she will do when we go into combat, is she will cast Hero's Might on the whole Group. So if we are going to combat right away, that will be her first action right there, unless of course she is attacked herself. I hope they can't hit them up there.
Oh Ninja!!! Damn, why they always wear black you can't see them when they do that.
