USS Peregrine, Mess hall - 0650

"Affirmative, On my way," Dana Cook responded to her com.

She had stopped in the mess to pick up a quick meal as nothing helped a hangover better than food that and her little hangover concoction. She quickly finished the last couple bites of her meal as she whisked out of the Mess and headed towards sickbay.

Dana didn't recognize the voice on the com but by the tone it was an officer and in Sick Bay which could only mean one thing. She was about to meet the new CMO and her boss. She wasn't sure if the butterflies in her stomach were from the alcohol remnants or nervousness of meeting her new superior. Neither one was a good thing.

She paused outside in the hallway as she straightened her uniform and then whisked into Sickbay. She saw the woman in there and right away noticed how normal she looked though a bit on the short side. She marched up to her smartly and stopped at attention before her.

"Petty Officer Cook reporting Sir!"

She waited for the inspection from her new CMO and as she did she took in all she could see and feel from the rather unassuming woman. Inwardly she was breathing a sigh of relief that it was a woman as she often butted heads with male doctors. Many she had met seemed to look down upon her because she was only a Nurse. Somehow she sensed that she wouldn't have that problem here. Only time would tell.

Yeah it sounds good but I don't like this aspect of it:

The new TV series will debut on CBS in early 2017, but the full series itself will be available exclusively on CBS All Access, the Network's digital subscription video on demand and live streaming service.

So it will only be available on a streaming service? So now we have to pay all the networks to stream there content? Cable is bad enough and now this?

Geek about a new series but not keen on paying more for another streaming service.

Stardate 2365.02.08
USS Peregrine, Sickbay - 0635

Chief Petty Officer Dana Cook walked into Sickbay the next morning with red rimmed eyes and a huge hangover. Her and CPO Crane had only finished off about half of the bottle of Romulan Ale last night. She had consumed the most as Leah had a very low tolerance for the Real thing. But this morning Dana was paying for it with a pounding headache and the lights seemed unusually bright in here this morning.

Normally she wouldn't have consumed so much of the Ale but the news of a new CMO had caused her some trepidation. Her and Lt. Synkler had a good working relationship. They both believed in a orderly and precise Sickbay that ran smoothly and efficiently. Who knew what the new Doctor would be like. She could only imagine but that would be a waste of time and right now her head hurt too much to think.

Dana didn't see anyone in the sickbay treatment area when she came in which was a good thing. She made her way over to the drug storage and after a few seconds she found the hypospray and her 'concoction' for hangovers. This wasnt her first after all. The mixture of Vertazine for vertigo and nausea along with Tramadol a powerful non-narcotic analgesic worked wonders for symptons associated with 'mass consumption of real alcohol'. Setting the hypospray to her forearm she injected herself and sighed. She removed the vial from the hypo and hid it away again in the med cabinet before turning around and assessing the sickbay as her head began to clear.

She knew the ship would be getting underway within a couple of hours so she had to make sure that everything was perfect for the new Chief Medical Officer. It wouldnt do for him or her to find anything out of order on the first day on the job.

(OOC: If the new CMO wishes to interact here at anytime that would be fine with me. Maybe an introduction of some kind. PM me if you have any questions. Just a thought. They have to met sometime. )

(Edit: to change room mate, missed this post when I made that change originally)

Tatiana watched Nyx as he explained himself and his thoughts and ideals regarding his impact and perceptions of those beings around him. Her eyes never wavered from him as she simply swirled the wine in her glass with her left hand and caressed the ring on her right. When he was done she smiled at him and nodded her head.

"Truly terrifying yes," she chuckled at his obvious joke and thought if only he knew the truth of his words. For an instant a fiery light came to her eyes or maybe it was just a flicker of the fireplace flames reflected there for a moment.

"I am sure that these people are assuming alot when it comes to you," she said with a shrug, "it is the image that you project and they accept it and believe the worst. That is the nature of the Edan." She looked about the room at the humans present and a sad light came to her face. Turning back to him her smile returned as she appraised him once again.

"What I dont understand," she went on, "is that you dont seem to care that they fear you and possibly despise you though you have done nothing to them to earn such treatment. I mean it is obvious that you speak the truth when you say that you have not harmed or threatened them otherwise they wouldnt welcome you here at all."

"You mention conducting business here," she said with a sly smile coming to her lips, "and with your demeanor and the treatment you receive am I wrong to think that your profession is that of a Sereg'wethrin?"

She took a sip of her wine giving him a chance to confirm or deny her question. Before he could respond the front door of the Inn opened and a man stood outlined in the doorway for a moment before he entered the room. He was followed by two other large men and they all glanced about the room taking it in before heading to a table near the front window where they sat. Sara headed over to the table to added to their needs.

These three men appeared human but were large and powerful looking with obvious armor and weapons under the long travelling cloaks that covered them. They didnt seem interested much in anything else in the room as they spoke to Sara about what was available.

Tatiana's eyes turned as did most everyone's here to observe the newcomers as they entered and sat themselves. If anyone was watching her closely they might have noticed a flash of recognition perhaps in her eyes along with the same fiery 'reflection' shown there.

Though not totally surprising. This is the kind of stuff Trek is made of from what I have seen.

Should make things more interesting and busy for the Security Department especially.

I have a question. What is the deal with Lt. Moriden and the wheezing? Does she had bad asthma or is this an inside joke that I just don't get?

Tatiana tilted her head back and laughed heartily; it was a musical sounding laugh that drifted like musical notes about the room. The staff in the room all looked over at her in wonder at how anyone speaking with Nyx would find anything to laugh about with him. Shortly though they all begin to smile just a little as if they got the joke but none of them realized that they had no clue to what was being said over there.

"Touche," she said to him when she was done laughing.

"You have to admit that the people here are afraid of you," she said with a gesture of her head towards where Sara worked wiping down the bar, "Now why is that I wonder? Is it because you have harbored nothing but good intentions towards these people? Or, maybe it is because you have been all mysterious with a threatening demeanor every time you have come here?" She raised her glass to sip while she looked at him over the rim before continuing speaking again.

"You say you dont try to mystify and frighten 'cousin'," she said using his term for their relationship, "yet you use the shadows and frighten simple folk and do nothing to contradict any thoughts, real or imagined, about you. So tell me what does that mean about your demeanor?"

He would surely notice that she made no mention of his mentioned 'confession' about possibly killing someone. As if that didn't matter to her in the slightest. Her eyes studied him and if he looked close enough he might see a faint bluish glow to the irises as she did so.

Tatiana laughed heartily at his words. She looked at him silently for a long moment before smiling.

"If there was any a doubt of what you are," she said softly, "that doubt has certainly been erased."

She seemed to anticipate that he was going to ask for clarification of her words so she went on.

"It has been a long time since I have encountered one of your kind," she says with a faint smirk on her lips, "but all Mith'ganni I have met show the same desire to mystify and frighten others with shadowed threats and meager displays of power."

Her smirk grew as she raised her now filled wine glass to her lips. She paused short of drinking and added, "Oh and they are all quite arrogant as well."

She drank of the wine deeply then lowered the glass and raised and eyebrow as she waited for a response. Still she idly played with the blue jeweled ring on her free hand. It seemed an almost unconscious action as if she didn't even realize she was doing it.

(OOC: ~Sips wine herself and waits for a response~ )

Stardate 2365.02.07
USS Peregrine, Deck 3, Personal Quarters - 2300

Petty Officer Dana Cook sat in the Living area of her Quarters and sipped the Romulan Ale she had acquired earlier that night. Coming to the Starbase definitely had it's benefits. She was sipping and enjoying the sweet burning sensation as it meandered down her throat when suddenly the door to her Quarters opened.

She jumped for a second until she saw it was only CPO Lauren Crane who shared these Quarters with her. She relaxed a bit. Romulan Ale was a contraband item and it's possession and use aboard Star Fleet vessels was 'frowned upon."

"Hey Dana," Lauren started paused as her eyes fell to the distinctive bottle and color of the liquid within, "is that... what I think it is?" Her voice sounded a bit strained. She knew her roommates predilections for real hard alcohol.

"Yeah," Dana replied with a smile as she lifted her glass, "You want some?"

Lauren considered it for a moment and then shook her head, "You could get in serious trouble for having that aboard. Where did you get it?"

"Traded a bartender on the Starbase for it," Dana said her smile growing larger.

"You know the Captain tolerates some alcohol aboard," Lauren started in on one of her lectures, "but contraband stuff is normally forbidden."

"Awww come on Lauren," Dana said, "the Captain probably has some of this in his own personal stock."

"Now about that drink," Dana said and got up and grabbed another glass and sitting it on the table she began to pour a 2nd glass for Lauren.

"I don't know," she sighed, "we could get in trouble."

"Don t worry about it," Dana said as she slide the glass across the table towards Lauren and then sat back down grabbing her own glass, "We wont get caught." Dana reached over and hit a button on the table console. The door to their Quarters 'secured' so that no one else could just barge in and disturb them or catch them in the act. Anyone would have to request permission to enter from them or have a reason to use their emergency override such as available to High Ranking officers like the CTO, XO or even the Captain.

Lauren sighed again and then a smile began to grow on her face. Grabbing the glass she sat down opposite her roommate and joined her in a minor infraction. She had sampled many of Dana's 'special acquisitions'. Dana seemed to have a knack for finding the unfindable especially Real Alcohol. Taking a sip Lauren coughed at first as the fiery blue liquid burned it's way down.

"There you go," Dana chuckled, "don't worry it will pass. Soon neither of us will be worrying about anything."

They both laughed and continued to drink the ill-gotten beverage. Several minutes later it was Lauren who broke some news.

"Oh did you hear," Lauren asked. Her voice already sounding a little tipsy.

"Hear what?" Dana asked sounding normal. She had a much higher tolerance for Alcohol than did her roommate who usually didn't imbibe except on rare occasions. Dana liked Lauren but she was a bit too straight lace; everything by the book. Dana believed in regulations, but little things like forbidden alcohol or cigars, her personal indulgences, she 'bent' the regs as it didn't really hurt anyone but herself.

"New Transfers came in," Lauren continued, "I heard in the Lounge that the word is out that we're getting a New Chief Tactical Officer and a New Chief Medical Officer."

"WHAT?" Dana said as she nearly spat her drink across the table. This was unexpected news to her.

Lt. Rockatansky was hardly known to her. She had a few dealings with him but had always thought he did his job and kept discipline in the Security/Tactical department. But Lt Synklar gone? That was a blow.

"Yeah," Lauren went on excitedly as she loved to gossip, "The orders came in about 1830 or so and apparently they are leaving the ship tonight and the replacements have already come aboard. What do you think of that?"

"Oh by the Black Abyss," Dana sighed and sat back and then downed the last bit of her drink. A new CMO? Here she had just gotten Lt. Synklar 'trained' just the way she liked and now she had to break in a new CMO. She sighed and poured another drink and hoped that whatever tomorrow brought it was not going to disrupt the harmony of her Sickbay.

(Edit: Change of roommates.)

Tatiana shrugged as she took a sip of wine before responding. She let her gaze also look about the room but the other might notice a faint hint of apprehension as she did so.

"No, I have never before visited this area," she said after she lowered her glass to the table and fixed him in her gaze again.

"I'm just... passing through," she continued with a faint uneasy smile, "My name is Tatiana. May I have the pleasure of your name sir?"

She looked over seeing the serving girl return from the kitchen. She lifted her near empty glass in the air and the girl nodded and ran over with the bottle to refill her glass.

"Leave the bottle please," she told her and slipped a coin from one of her pouches and slid it slowly with her hand over to the girl.

"Yes My Lady," Sara said as she picked up the coin. Nyx might have caught a flicker of light off the Golden color.

(Edit: Fixes spelling error. Decides wine sounds good and goes to pour a glass )

Ok it seems I have a shot at being a Hired Gun. Is there someplace i can look at regardin the making of a character for this Cyberpunk? I assume they have skills and such and I would like to get an idea of what I want.

Question: What is Solo or Nomad? Sounds like classes or something. Is there a difference?

That's it for now. Thank you Bromern Sal for giving me a shot.

I could play a character like that. We will wait to see what the GM decides. It seems he has a lot of interest so, he might not need everyone. If there is someone who is a better roleplayer then I would rather they take the slot than me.

I don't know anything about Cyberpunk so a Netrunner (whatever that is) or a Techie are probably a little too complicated for me. That leave a Med (which I think means medical type person) or Hired Muscle.

Not sure if Hired Muscle is right for a female character.
